My mother bought this for my sister at an antique fair, not knowing what it was but thinking it would make for a pretty cool gift for my sister for Christmas. She asked me if I knew what it was, and given I had no clue despite some googling, I must ask the help of AskHistorians in hope that any of you have come across anything like this. So, Follica says that wounding causes the generation of new hair follicles, if that is so I assume stem cells are involved in this somehow. I think that whenever stem cells divide there's a concern about cancer, at least that is one of the concerns in Tsuji's treatment, from what I understand, so I don't see why it wouldn't be here, as well.
If you're needling with a 35 or so needle cartridge and doing multiple passes and doing it daily, you're creating god knows how many wounds. I don't know how many of those turn into new follicles, but say it's even 10%, that's an AWFUL lot of stem cells dividing and an awful lot of opportunity for something to go south. I really don't want us to discover scalp cancer.
I've been reading up on caffeine recently and there have been studies about it's potential mutagenicity at very high doses. You create 35 to the power of god knows how many wounds in your head and induce stem cell divisions in there and then you use an anti-hairloss shampoo which contains caffeine in god knows what concentration, or one of the 10 other dubious topicals you're using that have god knows what kind of effects and you can see how things could go to hell in a handbasket.
Now, admittedly, I don't know much about this, so it would be great if someone knowledgeable about this could tell us whether this is a legit concern, how MUCH of a concern is it etc.

This is not a joke. I had very little progress of minox for 6 months until I started slapping my face to increase blood flow. Then I basically sprouted a manly face bush after a few weeks. Think about it, PEO, dermarolling, and minox all work by supplying more blood to the hair follicle. So does slapping the shit out of your face. Do it all day every day and you will get the best beard. My wife loves helping me with this as well. Seriously bros do it all day erryday you won’t be sorry
Hi all, i have plucked my eyebrows for quite some time, but i have damaged many of the follicles to the point where they do not grow a hair, but they get blocked with a black "start" to a hair (these look and feel different than blackheads, and are tough to eliminate with pressure). has anyone else run into this? any suggestions that will give minimal irritation to this very noticable area?
Today is my 10th day of stims and my largest follicle is only 7.5mm. I have three follicles on each ovary but apparently only two follicles are anything but 5 mm. I am 40 years old and I was simply not prepared for the stims to go sideways. can anyone tell me (or guess?) what happens from here?
I dont know what my estrogen levels are today yet. I havent received a call back from my doctor, but my husband has mysteriously developed "insomnia" since my stims began and is useless to help me cope. I'm beginning to freak out (naturally there is an unmitigated car alarm going off right outside my office window with now!) and I honestly think that if I keep googling it, I might short out all the circuits in my brain.

Okay, I've been trying to figure this out FOREVER, but I never see anyone acknowledge this so I kind of feel alone, but I know I can't be, right?!
I have pretty full lips to begin with, but due to an accident about 2 years ago, they are now a bit uneven. I've tried over-lining my lips to even them out, but it looks RIDICULOUS when I do it because literally right at the end of my vermilion border, my peach fuzz and pores start. No matter how much a scrub or shave the area, I am still rough and bumpy along the edge of my lips and the product catches on it, emphasizing it.
Please tell me y'all know what I'm talking about and have a recommendation!
