A list of puns related to "The Modern Antiquarian"
First post here.
Iβm not sure what the βmetaβ is or whatβs considered to be a top tier unit. I just try to make teams that seem relatively well balanced with a healer, some aoe abilities, a ranged character, etc. But, the Antiquarian, when it has shown up in the Stagecoach, just looks completely irredeemably terrible to me. All of the combat skills it has are greedy, either βeveryone else protect meβ or βbuff meβ. Why would I want this unit on my team? Is it a popular opinion here that it sucks, or am I missing something? It has to have some relevant use on a team, right..?
I've played around with her a bit, but other than random (and not very useful) auxiliary functions like enemy shuffling and destealth, a weak-as-hell blight and some minor buffing, I cant see how she's ever an asset. How do you all play with her, or do you think she's not worth the roster space?
Of all the oddities of the world, one would be sure to question the presence of Old World Cults. With many either choosing the cross or local faiths, why would one choose to worship the world before? The answer is far more simple then many would think. The Old World is tangible. It is hard to deny to simple fact that when you compare our own civilizations to that prior, you can see a deep fall. This is where the core beliefs of antiquarians come in. To them it is not simply a more advanced society we lost, but a clear sign that the gods once walked among us. However, a cursory glance at these faiths seem to show that beyond this, there is little more similarities. It is the goal of this essay to examine in more depth what binds these people together, as well as what divides them.
The first thing one would notice is the rather stark lack of defined gender roles. Men and women stand on equal footing on all matters, from the inheritance of land, the holding of positions, to even fighting on the battlefield. This seems to stem from a belief that Old America did not believe in such separation. This itself leads to the larger universal belief all Old World Cultists hold, that America was the empire of the gods. The differences only begin to appear in what exactly that means. One could compare this to the great divides in Christianity, such the early days when the divinity of the Holy Trinity was debated.
Americanists hold to the belief in the Founding Fathers. A polytheistic pantheon of deities, they worship the legendary figures responsible for the creation, expansion, and improvement of the American empire. This is to be compared to the Rust Cultists, who believe the gods of old where the men and women who built the great machines we still may find in ruins today. This shows a shared view that America was divine, and was ruled by gods, but argues who those gods were.
Atomocists vary from this view. Focusing on a mysterious and mystical power wielded by the ancients, they believe the true god was singular, Atomos, and that their ancestors created vessels to wield his power. This concept is not however unique among the antiquarians. A sect of Americanists believe that they themselves can gain the powers of their gods through mystical rituals, while some among the Rust Cultists believe machinery can elevate them.
Finally there is the Consumerists, a faith which has risen rather recently. They are, again, more monotheistic, worshiping The Almighty Dollar. Unl

Hey guys,
I was looking for some new Class Mods to try out today and I asked myself:
"Is there a Class Mod with the Gold Stacking and Loot Finding Bonus of the Antiquarian?"
But i canΒ΄t seem to find one.
So does anyone know of an existing Mod that has this Bonus?
I just found out that the antiquarian has all these modifiers when I thought they were pretty shit-tier. I only found out this through an accidental google search.
I don't see ANYWERE in-game that tells you that it increases the amount of gold you can carry, etc. Where does it say that, and how much more stuff in the game is like this?
I always thought it was stupid that the antiquarians "Nervous Stab" was a feather, but reading the comic its pretty clear that its a knife, which makes me the stupid one. Did anyone else think that that was what the Icon looked like? Have I just fallen into the oft-warned madness?

I have all classes at level 6, two of each actually, but I can't seem to be able to level up the Antiquarian.
I do know that she's good only for loot runs, so I usually don't get more than 4 xp per run.
I never actually tried a Long run with her in my comp, kinda afraid to not succeed since she has no offensive ability. Should I risk it ?
If yes, what comp should I go with ?
When I usually take her in short runs, I got with :
1 - Man-at-Arms
2 - Anything with sustain that can hit the 3rd/4th row - like the Highwayman
3 - Antiquarian
4 - Sometimes a Vestal, sometimes anything long ranged also
The Idea is to protect her with the MAA while the Vestal give him sustain and the other dps their way out. Or if I don't have the Vestal, it's just higher DPS so the round don't go over 3.
Any advice would be cool. It's the last request in my Caretaker list that I still haven't done.
