The Local Train Puns

Now I didn’t know my monthly pass had expired on Saturday. I tried opening the UTS App and as usual it’s taking hell lot of time loading. The TC saw this said “it’s okay”. TC leaves my seat and proceeds further, the app loads and says ‘ No active tickets .’

Ha ha ha ha...God bless UTS App.

I keep having small moments of joy which keep me alive. There are various type of beggars who enter the local train in mumbai. But there are two in particular i give money too. One is an elderly man who sweeps the compartment and then begs and the second is an old woman who comes in her nighty begging for money for her childrens education. I give them each Rs.100 everytime I see them. This morning I met the woman and I gave her the usual amount and went to touch her feet as i gave it to her. She recognised me and said " I thought you had left and perhaps returned to your village, I dont see you anymore. Its become very cold and I am unwell and taking medications which are very expensive. Thank you so much." She proceeded to show me her medication as well. She then wanted to give me her blessings which I took while touching her feet again. Despite working in an NGO this is what social work really is and I feel more fullfilled and satisfied by this than my job.

I recently discovered The Local Train Band & I’m hooked to their song ‘Bandey’. Have you guys come acrossed them & if yes, what’s your favourite song of theirs & also any other bands just like them?

I know all the local teams(Rangers, Kincks, Yankees, etc) use Amtrak for games in Baltimore and Philly and Some teams use Amtrak for DC/Boston - but does Amtrak run a private train for them?

Got on the r train and it didn't stop at for any stops until it was like 4 stations away from my usual get off point. So how are you suppose to tell if a train is running express?

Any ideas? It’s a bradford chav, which makes the situation all the more dangerous

Here's an example I've always noticed. The 36th street station in Brooklyn. Let's say you get on the D train at Atlantic, and it's scheduled to arrive at 36th street at 8PM. The dispatcher always stops the D train just short of 36th street when there are no trains ahead of it. This happens if The local train (the R train) is scheduled to get to 36th street lets say at 7:57PM, but it is late and coincidently arriving at 8PM like the D train. Anytime this happens the dispatch stops the D train, and doesn't let it into 36th street until the R has left. Is there any reason why The system is set up this way? Whenever this happens I verify the d train wasn't stopped cause of an n train ahead of it by looking ahead a couple stops with subway time.
