A list of puns related to "The Good Brothers"
We were taking a back road because it was faster, but he was unfamiliar with the area.
Him-"Is this the right turn?"
Me-"Well, actually it's a left."
Him-chuckle
My brother comes home from the army for the weekend. And my mother is talking with him about places to go eat. The convo went like this....
Bro - "I've heard that this restaurant does a military discount"
Mom - "Yeah they do, on a Tuesday"
Bro - "Why a Tuesday?"
Me - "Yeah, why'd they choose that day..."
a few seconds of silence before it hit them. And then groans and laughter. I was proud of that one.
It took him three days to make it to the closest town. To his dismay, nobody in that town had a horse for sale. So he started walking to the next town. After three days the man, exhausted, started asking around and looking for a horse for sale.Again, nobody could help him.He did, however, stumbled upon a place that sold horses but the man in charge was fresh out.
"Sold my last one just yesterday,"he said."I do, however, have a brother that sells horses. He's about a day's walk west.He owns a corral. He might have a horse to sell you."
So, once again, he sets foot West to the next town and finds the mans brother.
"I heard you might have a horse for sale, he asks."
"Well, I have one, but he don't look so good."he replies.
"I don't care. I've been walking for darn near a week and I'm tired and exhausted. I'll take him."
So after the man pays for the horse, he hops on him takes off and the horse hits a tree and stops.
"Hey,"the man says." I think you sold me a blind horse.Fact is, I'm sure of it!"
"Sir, I told you he don't look so good."the man fires back.
I knew my brother had the same problem, but the reddit account wasn't his. I told him about it and he said it was his post, so I asked "Throw away account?" He said "Yeah, good idea, I didn't think about that"
You saw-dust. (There were exaggerated winks after. And a elbow to the ribs. It was glorious)
Edit: thanks for the love: My kid asked me if I was gonna share it on Facebook. I donβt use Facebook so I said Iβd share it here. Heβs practicing his jokes, he said, so he can be a good big brother. Heβs got a corny sense of humor and loves a good dad joke.
For the couple of you who think I pimped his joke for Karma, look outward to that speck of light in your dark life. That light is your asshole. Go that way to remove your head from from it.
Okay, so this is my first post, so be gentle there. It s more a funny thing my dad did to mess with us than a dad joke. Our parents explained it to us , so i don t have the dialogues here. When we were little, my brother and I of course asked my parents how do we make babies, because we wanted a little bro or sis and they did not wanted us to get one. So we asked them how babies are made. They explained to us that you need 3 things ; a mother's belly , dad's seeds and a little bit of love. That was cute, they said that daddy had to put his seeds in mummy 's belly with the love. When we asked how, they told us to guess -this is why we thought babies were made by the bellybutton, they did really had fun with us- and then, finally, we asked them why they would not make us a little brother then. My father, had this brilliant idea to mess with us, which we sometimes did not notice, as we were little. He basically told us with a huge smile accros his face :" You know what ? If you find the good seeds, we'll make you one". My mother laughed but we took it seriously. We have apparently searched for hours even going in the basement, searching in mom's gardening seeds, ripping of the labels and bringing them to the parents to ask if these were the good ones . We eventually got fed up, and never asked my parents to have a sibling again.
Hi all, sorry for the unorthodox post, but i really need help coming up with a specific pun. You see, this girl called eve challenged me to think of a non-obvious pun for her name that is still good and so far the best i can think of is something to do with an apple(like out of the bible) any chance you could help out a brother in need? Any input welcome.
I'm looking for band names that involve the word cone (specifically traffic cones). A few examples I have come up with are "The Rolling Cones," "Earth Wind and Cone," and "The Conas Brothers." I'm sure there are lots of good ones that I'm not thinking of.
For our anniversary my wife requested a printer/scanner. After doing some research I tell her that Brother would be a good brand to get.
"The one I'm looking at is black. That's a little bit racists, right?" Her face doesn't change, an indication that the joke failed and just to move on.
So she asks me if the printer has cables.
"Nope! It works through the wifi so you won't have to worry about wires! You can even print stuff from your phone!"
"Oh. So doesn't that mean I can't hook a Brother up?"
I was so proud of her.
My first son was just born two days ago, still in hospital with him and this exchange went down while he was on my lap:
Gfs brother: "The suns getting real low, <gfs name>"
Gf: "The suns gone at this point honestly"
Me: "Nawh, he's right here!"
It got a good reaction!
...until today when I caught him texting with both his thumbs.
Being the sarcastic smart are son of his, I asked " when did you learn to type with both thumbs?" he smiled and happily replied: "The day I learned I was Ambi'text'rous".
He laughed for about 5 minutes and proceeded on to tell mum and my brother about his funny pun
Good one dad.
(This is a true story.)
Usually this is my Dad. My Mom will be opening presents all day, and Dad is done after he unwraps his three gifts.
We really give him a hard time and he loves it. He's a champ.
Well one year, we're opening gifts, and my brother's got almost nothing in his little pile. He had recently bought a house and his main gift was a garden hose.
This is exciting because we're gonna just tear into him. He is a good sport and he is ready to bask in the glory of his Christmas failure.
We finish the unwrapping and my Dad looks over to him and says "Well son, you really got hosed this year".
P.S. I am x-posting my own comment from an AskReddit thread at someone's suggestion, and definitely NOT in a shameless quest for karma.
I walk into the office after two weeks of vacation, and my boss is reading a book.
Me: "Good morning, brother."
Him: "Hey, hey."
Me: "I missed you man, how you been?"
Him: "I've been right here, you need to aim better. -Flips page- ...But I've been good."
EDIT: Formatting.
So my dadβs recently been diagnosed with cancer and is now beginning chemo. As a result, heβs gonna have a lot of downtime on his hands. So to cheer him up weβve (my brother-in-law and I) bought 2 folder-style disc cases that can hold up to 10 movies. We want to fill them with the most dad-joke filled, so bad theyβre good, absolute cheesy movies out there. This is where r/dadjokes comes in. The two best lists of 10 movies will be chosen to put in the two cases. Help us r/dadjokes. Youβre our only hope.
Context: My brother made a forge this summer and mom kept the slag from his first firing. She's using it in a x-mas ornament present for him and we can't think of anything witty to write on it. If anyone can think of a good one, we'd love to hear it!
One was named Michael White and the other Kevin Wong. Together, they formed a good-cop-bad-cop team known as White and Wong.
When White was killed in the line of duty, Wong's brother joined the force, but it was never quite the same. After all, two Wongs don't make a White.
My brother is at a hospital and sees a therapist regularly. He gets one phone call a day and it's my personal objective to get him to laugh every day.
Bro: I should probably get going, the therapist gave me some homework to do.
Me: Yeah, you don't wanna make her therapist off.
I got a good laugh from him.
There once was a man who had a job driving a passenger train between two large towns. It could be a very dull job to some, but as the old saying goes, one man's trash is another's gold; he wanted to be a railroad man since he was a boy.
He was a wiz behind the controls of the train, and commanded the 15 car vehicle effortlessly as if he had been born to do the job. He prided himself on the fact that he could bend the rules and speed through curves and grades that made other motormen shiver and back off.
One day however, he wasn't so lucky and came round a bend too fast and derailed his train. He backed off the throttle and braked as much as he could, managing to only have one fatality out of 500 passengers on his train.
Months later there was a trial and he was found guilty of manslaughter in the highest degree, a capital offence in that land, and sentenced to die by electric chair. Punishment came swift, unlike most places, and 3 days after sentencing the former railroader was asked for his last meal.
"I'll have a banana," "Just a single banana?" said the perplexed guard. "The warden will grant you a feast and all you want is that?"
"Just a single banana." he said.
After he downed the fruit, he was strapped into the electric chair an hour later.... The warden hit the switch, lights flickered, and the crackle of electricity could be heard for over a minute...
...but our train jockey instead rose from the chair looking more like he got a stiff massage, rather than be put to death! Well in that nation, the law of the land states that if a man somehow survives being put to death, they must be set free...
...And so it came to pass that our engineer was let go...
And for whatever reason, he got his job back!
So he was back railroading again doing the job that he loved. You'd think he'd have been more cautious with this second chance he'd been given, but you'd also be wrong. Speedy Gonzales with a train license decided to gun his locomotive to hard and send it off the tracks again!
Of course, this time he was tried for the same crime, but at a different time (his was a fair commonwealth and double indemnity was simply unheard of!) So fair was their nation, that the jury came up with the same judgement and punishment. So three days later, when asked for his last meal, the engineer simply said "I'll have 2 bananas..."
Not less than 60 minutes after consuming the last morsel was he strapped into the chair and the switch thrown... And....
NOTHING.
... keep reading on reddit β‘so my mothers friend andy is helping her install a new TV, and this string of puns resulted:
ME: thanks for helping out around here, nice to have an ANDY-man
ANDY: oh that was a good one
BROTHER: i Don't know, i thought the delivery was kinda WOODEN
ME: wow, thanks for HAMMERING that home, pesonally i think i NAILED it, so SCREW you
BROTHER: will you just CONTRACT aids already (edgy ik)
ME: oh come on, i don't think you're being very CONSTRUCTIVE
BROTHER: i'm sorry, feeling a little PLASTERED right now.
Both of us: burst out laughing
De-nephew.
(Or for more dad joking goodness, you can make his name βwhatβ. If they say βwhat is the brothers name say yes, if they ask you to tell them what it is say what. My dad did this for 10 minutes to his mother one time at a family dinner she wouldnβt let it go)
King Broderick was in trouble. He wasn't a very good king, and his brother Argyle was gathering forces to depose him and take the crown. In desperation, he captured Count Petrie, a very popular man who was one of his brother's cronies, and tortured him to learn his brother's location.
But the count wouldn't divulge the information, so the King scheduled a public execution. The crowds gathered, including the King's brother, who was there in disguise. The Count was forced to kneel, with his head on the chopping block. The headsman stood nearby, holding his axe at the ready. King Broderick loudly proclaimed "Count, you are here before me because you have aligned yourself with my brother. If you tell me where he is, I will allow you to live out your days in my dungeon. Remain silent, and you will die." The Count remained silent. King Broderick motioned to the headsman, who slowly raised his axe and swung it down...THUNK...into the wood next to the Count's head. The Count stared at the axe, visibly shaking. King Broderick loudly proclaimed "Count, that was a warning, and there will not be another. Tell me where my brother is and you will live. Remain silent, and you will die!" The Count stayed silent. King Broderick again motioned to the headsman, who raised the axe. As the headsman began the downswing, the Count cried out "Wait!!" but...THUNK...it was too late, and the Count's head fell to the ground.
At the Count's death, the King's brother leapt up and revealed himself to the crowd. Cheering Argyle, they crowded forward and overran the King's guards. Soon, it was Broderick's head on the chopping block. Argyle, the new King, waved back the headsman, knelt beside his brother and whispered into his ear "Silly brother, don't hatchet your Counts before they've chickened."
Anytime he corrected one of my grammar mistakes he would say, "The reason I always correct your grammar is because my brother died because of bad grammar. I remember it as clear as day. I ran inside and yelled, 'Mom, billy fell in a good!'"
It took me forever to finally understand his joke.
My brother got married recently. While we were getting dressed in our tuxedos, my dad and my brother's wife's sister's husband, who is a gynecologist, were trying to figure out how to tie my brother's bow tie (the rest of us had clip-ons).
They were watching a video as my gyno-in-law carefully followed along. My dad said, 'It's so complicated. So many folds.' And my brother's wife's sister's husband said, 'good thing I'm a gynecologist'
posted this story as a comment in a recent r/AskReddit post. Thought you'd like it too
Just days after my dad made some tri-tip my family had another get together which my brother-in-law brought some ridiculously good tri-tip. Definitely blew the my dad's stuff out of the water.
Me: "I have to tell you, your tri-tip was good but Nick's (brother-in-law) is next level"
Dad: "Well that may be true but I helped him by giving him advice. In fact, I gave him three pieces of advice. Thats why they call it tri-tip!"
... and noticed 3 pieces of meat hanging from the celing upon entering his house. The boy asks his father, "What's this about?" The dad replies, "If you can jump up and slap the meat, you don't have to do any chores for the next month. However, if you miss, you have to do your chores and your brother's chores, along with no video games for a month. Still wanna do it?" The boy replies, "No thanks, I'm good." The dad responds, "I figured you would say that, I did raise the steaks pretty high."
Because he came out of it
Making this joke from when I learned my brother came out of the closet. Tought maybe it would do good in here!
Me and 2 7 year olds (one my daughter's brother): boy 1:What's your last name? Me: (say last name) boy 2: Spell it. Me: "I-T" Boy 1: "Nooooo spell your last name." Me: "Y-O-U-R L-A-S-T N-A-M-E" both boys: Argh! Boy 1: Ok what's your last name. Me: (say last name) Boy 1: Spell that. Me: "T-H-A-T" Boy 2: Noooo spell your last naaaaame. Me: "Y-O-U-R L-A-S-T N-A-A-A-A-M-E" Boy 1: Ok, say your last name Me: Your last name. Boy 1: noooooo say your last name Me: Your last name.
I kept them going for a good 5 minutes before they figured out "spell (my last name)" Quite amusing.
edit: second time I misspelled the title. It's supposed to say "this was fun"
So my dad got us pretty good in a family text conversation.
So my little brother sends us a picture of a bunch of juice he has made and put in jars in his fridge.
LB: Going on a juice diet for the next 30 days, gotta loose 50 lbs in 2017!
Dad: I cooked beans and ham soup. I'm on a expelling air diet.
Dad: I've lost 5psi in 2days!
Dad: I'm thinking about getting a methane generator and going off the grid.
Me: π
A little back story first. My dad, brother, mom, grandma and I are in the car and the subject of class rings comes up and how there's a potential for my brother to get a good amount for college, grad school, etc.
So I say, " So you want three rings?"
Dad: "What? Are you a binder?"
Grandma, mom, dad, and brother start cracking up...I Just groan.
My dad has been trying so hard since he found out about this subreddit.
At a wedding reception where the chocolates on the table were in nice looking package.
While watching a baseball game:
In regards to meatloaf my mother made:
While eating at relatives' house:
In regards to an inappropriately shaped child's toy:
When my brother and I were screwing around instead of helping in the garage:
After listening to a 3 minute voice mail from my mother:
"Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give me?"
Obama frowned, and then asked, "But how do I know if the people around me are really intelligent?"
The Queen took a sip of champagne.
"Oh, that's easy; you just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle"
The Queen pushed a button on her intercom. "Please send Tony Blair in here, would you?"
Tony Blair walked into the room and said, "Yes, your Majesty?"
The Queen smiled and said, "Answer me this please Tony. Your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"
Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answered, "That would be me."
"Yes! Very good." said the Queen.
Obama went back home to ask Joe Biden the same question. "Joe, answer this
for me."
"Your mother and your father have a child. It's not your brother and it's
not your sister. Who is it?" "I'm not sure," said Biden.
"Let me get back to you on that one." He went to his advisers and asked everyone, but none could give him an answer.
Frustrated, Biden went to work out in congressional gym and saw Paul Ryan there.
Biden went up to him and asked, "Hey Paul, see if you can answer this question." "Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"
Paul Ryan answered, "That's easy, it's me!" Biden smiled, and said, "Good answer Paul!" Biden then, went back to speak with President Obama. "Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle."
"It's Paul Ryan!"
Obama got up, stomped over to Biden, and angrily yelled into his face,
"NO, You idiot! It's Tony Blair!"
...AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS PRECISELY WHAT'S GOING ON AT THE WHITE HOUSE.
So, its the day "Clash of the Titans' comes out in theaters. My dad decides to take my brother and I, (we're all big fans), so we get there early and are waiting out in the lobby, my dad and brother go to the bathroom, I wait on a bench for them. A few minutes go by and I see them coming out, my dad giggling at himself, my brother red with embarrassment, and some men behind them laughing.. I want to know, but do I really want to know?
"What did you do?"
He proceeded to tell me of how he overheard some guys chatting about how excited they are for the movie, then realized everyone in there was probably going to see the same movie we are, so he thought it would be a good idea to get in the conversation. He calmy unzipped his pants and yelled "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" as he peed.
And that was all he said.
My poor brother.
A stop sign appears in the distance, but a little bit before the stop sign is a yellow sign indicating a Deaf Child lives on that street.
Being the good son I am, I indicate to my father: Dad, a deaf child lives nearby, so slow down.
caps indicates shouting
Dad: WHAT
Me:...a deaf child lives nearby, slow down...
Dad: WHAT
I look to my brother in the back seat, and he shrugs. I look forward and try to forget what just happened.
My dad bursts out laughing: I can't believe you fell for that twice! That's HILARIOUS!
My dad woke my brother up this morning on his 18th birthday by saying, "Good morning, now you can get a job!" After retelling this story and making everybody at the dinner table laugh he said "Yup, I guess I'm just Mr. Dad jokes." To which my sister replied "Hi Mr. Dad jokes I'm your daughter."
A little background: we are eating Mexican food for dinner. Tostitoes and salsa are out on the table and my brother and I were snacking on them while waiting.
Mom (feeling the granite countertop): "oh no, there's a chip in the counter!"
Brother (holds out salsa): "here, I bet it'd go good with this"
Good morning good morning good morning! Everytime the song would restart the complaining from me and my brothers would be drowned out by the laughter of my Dad.
I was sitting at the kitchen counter, eating yogurt. I ask my little brother if he wants a bite. He replies, "Why would I want a bite of old, bacteria ridden milk?" Before I can answer, my dad chimes in: "It's good bacteria. Cultured. They went to the Opera last night."
My mother has given birth to 5 boys, no girls, of which I am the oldest. Sitting at dinner after two of my younger brothers duked out, my mother begins...
"There are too many penises in this house!"
Dad replied, "Oh, you're just jealous."
"No, I'm not. I much prefer my boobs."
"Sounds like you're in denial."
I chimed in, "Don't you mean penile?"
I was rewarded with a hearty chuckle from my father and a roll of the eyes from my mother. The signs of a good days work.
Me: I've been kind of bored at work lately.
Dad: Read a good book!
Me: Well I do have The Brothers Karamazov sitting on my shelf.
Dad: What, you don't have any chairs?
My brother graduated about 4 or 5 years ago now. When he did he phoned my mum to give her the verdict on his grades. I was asleep at the time and she yelled up the stairs to me to tell me the good news.
> Mum: hey! Tom's graduated with a 2:2!
> Me (half asleep): When did he take up ballet?
It took me a while to figure out why my mum was laughing so hard.
My brother and I visited him at the Hospital. We talked for awhile about what happened. Apparently, he ate at one of the more popular food stands in our area that specializes in Pork Sandwiches, Philly Cheesesteaks, and other such greasy foods. He looked at us and said "you know, I should go back there and tell them that their food was so good, it gave me a heart attack!"
My father, ladies and gentlemen. Don't let shit get you down.
Brother: you know what's good about his neck?
Me: what?
Brother: he doesn't have to eat much.
Me: why is that?
Brother: because a little goes a long way.
Backstory: my buddy's brother is in the military in Turkey and I was asking how he was when their dad dropped this one on me.
Me: "How's your brother doing in Turkey?"
Friend: "Good but the language barrier kills him, I think they speak Farsi."
Me: "I thought they spoke Turkish?"
Friend's dad: "Actually they speak gobble gobble!"
