I'm so so excited about this book. It's big and thick and a SLOW burn. Its delicious. If I'm remembering correctly, it's a retelling of Beauty and the Beast along with one other, possibly Hades and Persephone?
Its giving me major Master of Crows by Grace Draven vibes, and it's even a little reminiscent of Land of the Beautiful Dead by R Lee Smith. This book is dark, and the characters live in a state of constant winter. Things feel bleak, but the atmosphere is also scary. The hero lives in a dark, stormy castle with thousands of doors that lead to different places. The heroine is trapped there, for reasons that I can't give away without spoilers. I'm only half way through, but this is definitely enemies to lovers. There are so many unanswered questions, still, and I'm at the edge of my seat with every sentence because it's just so good. The atmosphere in this book is amazing. The world building is dark and foreboding. I am in looooove and I'm begging yall to read it. I think it just came out to KU a few days ago so go check it out!!
