Is sparkling mineral water a thing in the US?

So, I'm from Europe/Germany and over here it's perfectly normal to get carbonated / sparkling mineral water when you go into a restaurant. If you wish to get non-sparkling mineral water, you will have to say so while ordering, otherwise you'll get the sparkling version. Similar in grocery stores, even though you can also buy non-sparkling water in stores, but it's a lot less common for people to drink it. Usually they mix the sparking mineral water with all kinds of juices (apple juice, cherry, pear, peach) to give the water a less neutral taste. Note that I'm not talking of (very sugary) sodas. When I was over at the West Coast on student exchange, I found it incredibly hard to find sparkling water in stores. Eventually I gave up and just drank the "natural" water and it has kind of stuck to me up to this day.

Is the mineral water in Dubai a bit weird?

So I have been drinking Masafi, oasis, al AIN and the other mineral water brands in Dubai since I was a kid, but I never noticed anything until I went to india. I used to drink a lot more water in india and felt the water there was a bit more thin or easy to gulp down. The water in Dubai feels a bit harder, I think due which is due to the mineral content. I feel because of this I drink far less water than I should which is a big problem. My wife and I both have the same problem so I know I’m not alone in this.

Any one else can put some light on this matter?

Hi! I’m trying to learn more about the science of minerals/stones/crystals and which ones are safe to go in sunlight/water/salt. Does the Mohs hardness scale have an affect on how the mineral will do in sunlight, water, or salt? This is what I hear often but I’m not sure if it’s just an assumption.

Kegging your own mineral/sparkling water?

I've recently learned that I really enjoy perrier water, so I've been looking into this lately, and it really doesn't seem all that hard.

My issue comes in at finding a copycat recipe of perrier; I can't seem to find one.

I've found copycats for topo chico, and san pellegrino, but can't find one for perrier.

Anyone have any leads on that by chance?

100ppm mineral water is better than 800ppm baking soda

I have been experimenting about the water quality for iontophoresis recently and I find out that my local 100ppm mineral water brings a better results than 800ppm baking soda where I measure the TDS of water using TDS meter. I am not sure if this is due to mineral water has variety types of minerals rather than having only Na and Bicarbonate ions from dissolving baking soda in water.
