A list of puns related to "Soybean meal"
What is considered the best supplement for growing Oysters? How do other species perform with that? If you grow multiple strains, do you use the same bulk substrate formula or do you optimise each to the strain feeding off it?
What are the primary mineral and macronutrient components desired in a supplement? Aside from minerals and vitamins I was under the impression that a 20% supplement with sawdust was largely to provide extra nitrogen.... but then I read that soy hulls are low protein and high fibre, and thinking of it wheat and rice bran probably have a similar protein:fibre ratio, so what makes them a good supplement? Adding fibre is just adding more carbohydrates. Would soy bean meal not be a better choice?
As an aside, if you supplement with coffee grounds, what percentage are they added at? (with sawdust)
Iβve been avoiding seed and vegetable industrial oils for the better part of 5 months. I want to make dan dan noodles tonight and could only find chili oil in soybean oil. Should I expect some side effects from having not consumed any in a while? Also how long will it take to detox

I reached out to Mr Ash from the USDA Economic Research Service myself and ze replied (incredibly quickly) saying that ze would most likely have used the USDAβs Production, Supply and Distribution database or the Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report as sources for this statistic and that furthermore:
>If the question really is how much soybean meal is consumed for feed from the processing of soybeans, then the percentage is closer to 77 percent.
In order to calculate the figure, you take the world total use for soybean meal (232.74 million metric tons) WASDE May 2019 - p29 and divide it by the world domestic crush for soybeans (301.63 million metric tons) WASDE May 2019- p28 which gives you 77%.According to Mr Ash, nearly all of the domestic use of soybean meal is for animal feed and this is backed up by this archived summary article from SoyaTech, which, while unsourced itself, is from independent technical resource in the soy industry..
>About 85 percent of the worldβs soybeans are processed, or βcrushed,β annually into soybean meal and oil. Approximately 98 percent of the soybean meal that is crushed is further processed into animal feed with the balance used to make soy flour and proteins.- SoyaTech 2017
Here we are comparing statistics about global soybean production vs global soybean meal consumption. The amount of meal consumed by ton is 77% of the total soybean production globally. Assuming that only trace amounts of soybean meal is used for anything other than animal feed (as suggested by Mr Ash, an expert in the field), we can rest our figure for animal feed consumption at 77% of total global soybean production.
Three main kinds of soybean meal are produced:

I was re-reading CFA L1 Chapter "The Firm and The Market Structure" in Economics where I stumbled upon the Exhibit 3 of Price Elasticities. The table shows the Price Elasticities of Soybean Meals and Tomatoes as 1.65 and 2.22 respectively. Curious to know if anybody knows the logic behind such high Own Price Elasticity? I don't think I'll change my eating habits of Tomatoes, even in the long run, if the Prices were to increase to double.
Growing a variety of oyster mushrooms.
Jordan's daughter, Mikhaila Peterson, appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast yesterday. Among other things, she revealed that she ate some soy and saw her brother turn into a demon (literally).
I don't mean that as an insult, it's a serious topic, but if they're not lying, it's becoming obvious that some sort of mental illness is running in the family.
Mikhaila also explained how she felt like she was having problems with acne and other skin issues in addition to 4 different, serious health problems. A dermatologist then told her that she's suffering from some sort of anxiety disorder and the skins problems are caused by excessive scratching related to that. Of course, Mrs Peterson concluded that dermatologists don't know what they're talking about because in her mind that diagnosis was obviously wrong. I guess it's very likely that they were spot on and that there are similar explanations for all/most of her and her father's symptoms.

I'm interested in using soybean meal as an alternative to Milorganite this spring. It has a 7-1-2 NPK ratio compared to Milorganite's 6-4-0. It makes up for the lacking Potassium and doesn't have the unnecessary Phosphorus for the existing turf. The price is good, as well, because it's just animal feed.
Couple questions...
Has anyone used it? What do you think?
Will my yard be a buffet for wild animals? We have a problem with overly friendly deer that already come and eat the bird feed that falls out of the feeder... I'm afraid I'm just going to provide a smorgasbord for them. They even came and ate some of my grass seed last fall.
Wouldn't be the worst trade you could make.
Edit: Did anyone take the trade? Giggity.
