A list of puns related to "South Wales Valleys"
Shwmae, lovely people!
I'm considering a relocation to south Wales, based on my employment and am wondering what's there or if it is a good idea please.
Some background:
The employment sitch: currently work in the rail industry. I work for an English TOC and currently live in Shropshire. However for a while I have been looking to leave them.
An opportunity to relocate and work for TfW based out of Cardiff has come up. I applied on the off chance, to see how the process goes, how the company responds and treats applicants and so forth, to get a measure of how they would treat employees and potentially to get into a larger talent pool for the future if I was not instantly short listed.
Imagine my surprise when I received a telephone call, followed by an email, initially requesting whether I could interview within the next two days (we agreed not too, as it was short notice) but that I had been fast tracked to interview as I am already qualified for the role. That is due mid April now, as they have kindly allowed to work around my working shift days, in order that I don't have to take annual leave/risk not being able to attend. They seem really keen, which I am well chuffed with. :)
The personal sitch: I'm currently single and childless, so I have little familial issues, such as a partner wishing to stay near to their family (something I would be keen to listen, discuss and respect were I currently in a relationship) or needing to find work themselves, or having to relocate children - new friends, clubs and importantly schools. I suppose you could say I am a nomad, or 'the world's my oyster. I'd only have to look after myself, really.
In terms of Wales, I love the nation. Often visited as a child, went to University here, and for the last ten years have regularly visited the west coast to see close friends and explore - Snowdonia, Gwynedd and around Aberystwyth have been my main areas and the landscape is absolutely stunning, even in grey winter (I make a point of visiting even then, so as not to have rose tinted spectacles for starts). Loved Cardiff too - used to visit regularly for weekends out in my early to mid 20s plus I have some contacts there now.
Culturally, I'd seriously consider learning the language - I believe in bilingual, but Welsh must be kept alive. Crazy (in a good way) how it is found in Patagonia! Firmly believe Wales is its own entity - not wholly sold on thorough independence, but firm believer in
... keep reading on reddit β‘I absolutely hate waste and only recently found dumpster diving. I donβt drive but I am happy to climb in bin ect
Hey everyone, I create a comedy show set in Ebbw Vale - it's called "THE VALE" and I've just finished the second series (the last ep of it goes up this Friday)
I'm trying to up the subs/views and get it out there more. Thought I'd share here to see if it tickled anyone's fancy...
Have a watch if you can!
