A list of puns related to "Sony Pictures hack"
Just some light MCU history - in 2014, Sony Pictures was prepping the release of The Interview which depicted the assassination of Kim Jong Un. The North Korean government responded by hacking Sony Picture's email server and releasing all of Amy Pascal (and many more's) emails to the public. Obama decried North Korea's attempt at censoring US media. John McCain called it an act of war. There were rumors that the US responded by shutting down North Korea's internet.
However, most importantly, emails between Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal leaked. Nobody knew that negotiations to have Spider-Man appear in Captain America Civil War had begun but stalled. After a ton of public pressure and a need to turn the giant hack and email scandal behind them, negotiations rushed and Sony and Disney struck a deal.
I just always find it funny in a disaster of U.S. national security involving the president, the military, and a foreign power - the result is Spider-Man in an Avengers movie, I guess.
It is CrowdStrike, who attributed the DNC hack to Russia, also claimed that North Korea hacked Sony. But Seth Rogen does not believe this. He was not targeted at all. He points out that his cybersecurity people said it was too much stuff taken for it to have been done remotely. Also the hack seemed to target Amy Pascal, not Rogen or anyone close to the movie.

Here's another one. It is a short summary of a longer article which it links to. It brings up other individuals who do not believe the North Korea attribution. Also, the cybersecurity people he hired found no sign that he was hacked. It has more details, but amusingly enough, it goes on to create a half-baked theory that Russia did the Sony hack. A disgruntled employee or former employee would be most likely culprit.

I want to start by saying that I am not an apologist for the North Korean government. Also, I am not convinced they were responsible for hacking Sony. As a result, this really isn't a CMV about North Korea. http://www.wired.com/2014/12/evidence-of-north-korea-hack-is-thin/
My view is that the hack of Sony Pictures did much more good than harm, and therefore we should celebrate it (and encourage more hacking of big companies), not condemn it. I make this argument for numerous reasons, including:
This is by far the most important news to come from the leak. and the people of reddit are probably very familiar with efforts of the movie studios to close down the internet to preserve their shitty business model. We need to oppose this, and outright condemn these bastards. Good for the hackers for making this public.
This hack exposed the absolute stupidity that is Hollywood. the most obvious example is that it conclusively proved that Jonah Hill is suffering from severe brain damage and needs to get help immediately. The only alternative is that he is illiterate and doesn't know what the words "clean and rad and powerfulβ mean. it proved (ok, maybe "proved" is a stretch, but provided good evidence) that hollywood is both racist and sexist. The racist part was shown by Sony's president being casually racist against Obama. the sexist part was shown by the fact that we got definitive proof they are aware and encourage that female actors are paid less than male ones. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/dec/14/sony-pictures-email-hack-greed-racism-sexism or http://www.cnet.com/news/13-revelations-from-the-sony-hack/
We are all better off for not being subjected to more idiotic commercials for that stupid movie "the interview". There is no chance that this movie was anything but total stupidity (and not even funny stupidity). I am so sick of seth rogan and j
