A list of puns related to "Song of the South"
Now that /r/movies has become a part of the wondrous Disney corporation, it's time we kick things off, we need to discuss a hidden classic: Song of the South. People tend to get awkward around this film for whatever reason. I think it's phooey: it's DISNEY! FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN FOR OUR MONEY ENTERTAINMENT! So please discuss all the positives this film contributed to the world thanks to the wondrous love from Disney.
Recently been getting into South Park because Netflix has a few seasons available for streaming, so I got curious enough today to look up the lyrics of the theme song because one character, Kenny, is always muffled and hard to figure out what he's saying on the show.
Turns out the theme song of the show goes:
I'm going down to South Park, gonna have myself a time
Friendly faces everywhere, humble folks without temptation!
Going down to South Park, gonna leave my woes behind
Ample parking day or night, people spouting "Howdy, neighbor!"
Heading on up to South Park, gonna see if I can't unwind
Someday I'll be old enough to stick my dick up Britney's butt!
Come on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine
Don't be mad about what they say, the show is known for being rude and offensive. This is a testament to Britney's incomparable power over music and pop culture.
Only a living legend could.
These movies, while definitively racist, sexist, xenophobic, and all sorts of politically incorrect by today's standards, are still a part of the history of this country, the history of their company, and still have a cultural significance today...even if that might be "holy fuck, this is racist" or "wow, the Nazi's were really bad"
By trying to remove these from the public conscious, they're doing a disservice.
So I'm just a fan of Prada, and this one one of the songs they've made thats so simple, very powerful to me. What do you guys think? Let me know what you think!
Quick fact(s) about this song: it was written, recorded, and completed in a 4 day process. The band made this for Record Store Day 2015(which was April 18, 2015) and this years RSD is April 13th!

A Reddit user said it's probably either Quechua or Aymara language

Any cast members who were once a walk around Brer Bear, Fox, or Rabbit character, did you have to watch the Song of the South to understand your characters?
It isnβt commonly talked about today, as it doesnβt seem like a huge deal, but the 1946 movie βSong of the Southβ has been criticized for being racist and sexist, especially during the movieβs re-release in 1986 to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The movie is based off the character Uncle Remus from author Joel Chandler Harris, and re-tells folktales from African-American culture. The movie was made during a very divisive time in America, and it stayed true to the time it was representing in the movie (1850s-1860s), and viewing it with todayβs lens just turns the movie sour to most. I personally think it should be included in the Library of Congress, as it is a very historically important film. But thatβs just my two cents
So the movie is actually more readily available now than it would have been if Disney just released it on Blu-ray. This is pure Streisand effect right here.
I have listened to what I think is every song in the game to try and find this one, but so far no dice. I would like it so I can toss it on my Ipod.
It was such a good song a good vibe for the scene and now I want it for the open road too.
Honestly, Im just putting in more nonsense so my post doesnt get deleted automatically for putting in a simple question and not enough pointless nonsense like this.
