It was said that ishin leaving soul society and kaien dying were factors that led to the fall of the shiba clan from the royal noble families categories.
For Ishin I can understand cos he literally abandoned soul society though bonus query why didnt they also investigate what happened to him ? for all they know he was murdered, kidnapped or what not in the human world as he was there to make his own further investigations perhaps about his last mission, I mean dude is the head of a noble clan and they just assume he abandoned ship??????
But back to my true query why is kaien dying a fault of the shiba clan . its even implied to be the straw that broke the camel's back after ishin earlier left soul society. Kaien was literally murdered by a hollow and somehow it gets the shiba clan discarded from the noble families list?????????

Iβm a little confused as to whether Isshin disappearing or Kaien being killed led to the downfall of the clan.
So I've just been rereading the manga and I'm at the point where Ichigo is sent off with the royal guard and something made me think. When they've been fired out the cannon and Ganju and Kukaku have a conversation about whether it was right to allow Ichigo to go, Kukaku says "We had to get him to go even if it saddens uncle." So to me at first this didn't make any sense whatsoever like why would her uncle be upset about Ichigo, but then later it's revealed Isshin is part of the Shiba clan so would this "uncle" she's talking about be Kubo revealing that Kukaku, Ganju and Kaien were Ichigo's cousin's, which would also explain why Kaien and Ichigo look so similar because cousins can look similar. And since Isshin wasn't the head of the Shiba clan itself but the head of a branch of the clan and normally a sibling of the head or any other close relative of the head would take the position of a branch head.
At first it wasn't clear if Kaien died first or if Isshin defected to earth first. They were stripped of their noble status only after the events of both I believe the novels said. Ishhin stuff was roughly 20 years ago. Kaien stuff could have happened literally anytime in the last 45-ish years.
But WDKALY states that Isshin was a captain when Kaien died and that he wanted to console Rukia after Kaien's death. I assume Rukia never met Isshin. So that clears up that Kaien died between 45-20 years ago. So the Shiba clan lost their noble status only after Isshin defected to earth.
I mention 45-ish cos that's roughly around when Rukia left the academy early before Renji, Kira, Momo, and Hitsugaya.
And now Tsunayashiro wants to reinstate Shiba clan with Ichigo, Yuzu, or Karin as the head I think.

Am I the only person who noticed these similarities between the Shiba and Uzumaki. One meaning Collapsing Whirlpool of The Crashing Heaven and the other simply meaning Whirlpool or Maelstrom.
