A list of puns related to "Shem Drowne"
I want to be able to display them but they keep disappearing and then I have to reload a previous save and lose progress. Is there a way to stop them from disappearing? Right not Iβve just put them in the inventory of one of my robots, but it sucks that the things that make the most sense to display canβt be displayed without losing them.
Iβm on PS4, if that helps.
>Though Devilβs iron makes this Blade, only he who wields this can make it wicked. -Drowne
That quote was from the note labeled βFear Notβ, which can be found on Shemβs skeleton after digging up his coffin.
My first question being: who is Shem Drowne?) My second question being: What does βDevilβs ironβ have to do with the sword and itβs effect?- itβs radiation damage.
Does anyone here have a vague idea of who this guy is and how devils iron relates to the sword? Maybe itβs atom, or maybe Shem was just insane, any ideas?

Dunno if this is more gameplay then lore but a de. Went out of their way to do it. So most named legendaries jyst gave a override name and a standard if preselected legendary, grog Mack is truly unique, but also oddly ahem dries sword had a unique enchantment, while I. The surface it seems to just be an iradiated sword it actually has the Shem drown effect not iradiated, and interestingly iradiated has a condition that heals ghouls instead of harming them, Shem does NOT have this limit so itβs radiation actually hurts ghouls, and the letter does talk about it being devil forged......
My friend and I were chatting about FO4 today and he hadn't heard about Prost in FO4 until I mentioned it. He asked me if there was a skeleton named Dead Tanson wearing a poofy wig. I had to admit there wasn't, and I'm now very disappointed, as is he.
I know it's possible for skulls to be named, thanks to Shem Drowne. And if a pompadour wasn't laying next to the skull it could've in a nearby storage. A pompadour with the standard +1 charisma plus an addiction mitigation bonus.
During the quest The Gilded Grasshopper, you find the note "Food for the Grasshopper" inside the copper grasshopper atop Faneuil Hall. I've done this quest before during previous playthroughs of the game, but I recently started another playthrough and I'm currently doing the quest again.
The interesting thing is that there is (or was) an actual note in the real grasshopper weather vane atop real-life Faneuil Hall that reads exactly the same as the note in the game does, with the exception of the last part which I'll mark in bold below.
Shem Drowne made it, May 25, 1742.
To my brethren and fellow grasshoppers, Fell in ye year 1753 (1755) Nov. 13, early in ye morning by a great earthquake by my old Master above.
Again, like to have met with Utter Ruin by Fire, by hopping Timely from my Public Station, came of the broken bones and much Bruised. Cured and Fixed.
Old Master's son Thomas Drowne June 28, 1768, and Though I will promise to Discharge my office, yet I shall vary as ye wind.
On the banks of the Charles, where forever rests Master Shem, there one can find a life's worth.
Again, there is (or was, might have been removed) an actual, real-life note placed inside the grasshopper atop Faneuil Hall in 1768 by Shem Drowne's son.
That last part is the only addition in the game, done solely to direct you forwards in the quest. I just thought that was pretty cool how the developers included this real life note in the game!
I really enjoy history and Bethesda has done a great job of incorporating elements of colonial Americana throughout the series. I played the game through on release, and nearly shat myself when there was an entire questline around Shem Drowne, The Gilded Grasshopper.
Shem Drowne is my 5th great grandfather. Looting his grave and then wielding and upgrading his sword was one of the most awesome moments of any media for me. I showed this to older relatives who are interested in our family history and despite not understanding video games, they loved it as well. I just love that Bethesda included more specific aspects of Boston history like this.
Before we get into this lets get some points that both Bible and Quran agrees.
Prophet Noah existed and had Children
The flood wiped out evil people
He was told to build the Ark to keep Animals and some Humans
The Ark landed on a mountain
Firstly, this whole βNoah floodβ event is portrayed as a story in Bible and Quran. Both Muslims and Christians actually believe the flood happened and they both are on the same page with regards to the above points. If thatβs the case, then the characters existence and their actions should be portrayed same in both of these texts. Islam agrees with story of βNoah and floodβ in bible/Christians but Quran both changed and added new characters to that story.
This is reflected in two instances, to understand that Iβm going to compare Bible and Quran
Β· Bible says that Noah had three sons Ham, Shem, Japheth and all of them survived the flood but Quran 11:43 says one of Noahβs son was a disbeliever and refused to board the Ark. According to Quran and Islam there was a fourth child called Yam who got drowned.
Β· Bible portrays Noahβs wife as a devout person and confirms she entered the Ark (Genesis 7:7). On the other hand Quran 66:10 says she was a disbeliever and Muslims believe she did not enter the Ark as well.
Since Bible and Torah came before Quran, how could those scriptures get this story wrong especially if Noahβs son refused to aboard the Ark and got drowned. Also Quran calling Noahβs wife as disbeliever and will be thrown into hell. These are some serious accusations and the fact the Noah story was revealed to Jesus before Mohammed which means itβs the Quran that failed to accurately depict the story or added new attributes to the story.
Muslims believe Allah is the same god who sent Torah, Bible and somehow they all got corrupted but remember the four bullet points I said, Christians and Muslims are on the same page with those points. Then how could the same god say Noahβs wife was a good person in the origin textbook then claim that she would be sent to hell in the second?. How could he portray Noah's family as clean righteous people in origin of the story then portray some of them as evil in the Quran. Muslims believe the author of Bible and Quran is the same god Allah, then why would he mislead one group of people (Muslims) by failing to accurately portray a simple thing a as fucking story.
It all reeks of BS
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Is Shem Drowne's gold, sword and skull worth keeping as a historical artifact? I mean it's valuable and also history right? So would it be a good idea to take them and preserve them in my house? Aside from those things, is there anything you guys have come across that's worth collecting and preserving in display cases? I know there is the treasure of Jamaica plains, but aside from there, any other good stuff that's worth keeping and preserving? Anything of value?
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Heard they've been doing some shady business.

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
