To start off, let's pick into the instrumentals! CATCHY AS FRICK! I love the keyboards so much and how it's mysterious but also fun but also a little dark. Lot's of emotions and lot's of dancing! I tried leaning how to play this song on a keyboard during music class one day in high school freshman year but it didn't go as planned. (Smh maybe one day I shall attempt again. I practically memorize how the song goes! It's been years and some I wake up and just hum it out to start the day.
Now for the vocals! Buckle up cause this is the fun part! 2-D doesn't sing here but Noodle takes the center stage! Wow only at 13 and she is out here not only making banging tunes but also making the foundation for one of the most incredibly acclaimed albums of the 2000's, okay pop off Noodle. But yes I love her singing her so much. Shaun Ryder ohohoh Shaunny boy you made the song what it is. Literally your accent cause the song to be changed from It's there to It's dare which I think stands out more!
Speaking of that, let's talk about the lyrics! It's all about Noodle telling 2-D to stop being a little bitch and do something about everything you are singing about in the other songs of the album. Damn Noodle.
Anyways I give this song a whooping 10/10. It's one of my all time favorite Gorillaz songs out there! I been G R O O V I N G to this song for the longest time and still do. Basic choice? There is never any basic Gorillaz choice! Also it gave us the ICONIC LIVE PERFORMANCE. DARE has done much good in the world whether intentional or not.

>DARE was played twice. This was because of, as far as I could see, Shaun Ryder's awful performance. There is a line between shambolically cool and just plain shambolic, and after threatening to do so the previous two nights, tonight he crossed it.
>Firstly, the start of DARE was held up for ages; there was visible panic from Damon onstage. Finally, Shaun and Rosie came on. Shaun hardly sung anything, leaving Rosie to sing most of his parts. He was all over the place, just randomly shouting 'it's DARE'. Damon stormed off backstage halfway through, probably to tell the A/V guy to run the DARE settings again. The song broke down at the end. Then they did it again, (Shaun and Rosie had gone off and came back), but Shaun was not really any better. At the end all Rosie could do was hug him in tears of laughter.
