34DD pendulous with large tail of Spence and sensory processing sensitivity with clothing. Trying to find a good fit that checks all my neurotic boxes! Any advice?

Thanks in advance for reading and for any advice y’all have to offer. I’m so grateful for this community, it has really opened my eyes to some of the things I’ve been struggling with. I’ll try to keep this as short and to the point as I can.

I’ve been wearing a 36C my entire adult life and have always had issues with finding the right fit. I have resigned to an ill fitting tshirt bra from maidenform because it’s the only one I could find that didn’t bother me all day. I struggle with a (self diagnosed) sensory processing disorder so I’m super particular about fit and feel and certain things can send me into a meltdown or ruin my mood for a little while. This usually means I prefer not to feel my clothes for the most part because I can’t stand when clothes dig into me or my skin and fat bulge over. But where it gets tricky is that I prefer a snug fit with my bras. This sounds weird but I am physically uncomfortable with the shape of my breasts so I prefer them to be pressed up close to my chest and kind of minimized, but the problem is that typically causes a uniboob or my tail of Spence to bulge out of control which makes me crazy.

I recently did the calculator and it told me that I’m not in fact a 36C but a 34DD which I was very surprised about. I’ve gone through about a dozen bras since then and while the cup size seems to be better I still can’t quite figure out the style of bra for what I’m looking for. Also the 34 band seems crazy tight so I’ve tried out some 36Ds as well. I haven’t found β€œthe one” yet but I’m getting closer with the resources here.

I’m still kind of confused about all the little details when it comes to breast shape but I think it’s important. So from what I can tell my breasts are:

Measurements in inches: LU-33.5 SU-33 TU-32 Standing-37.75 Leaning-39 Lying-37.25

And my best guess on my shape is: Pendulous, Shallow, Tall roots, Asymmetrical, Immediate projection, Soft tissue, Full on top, narrow set, Large tail of Spence

I’m looking for something that has underwire, and I think lined or molded but not too push-up or projected, ideally something that separates and minimizes the appearance of my breasts. I tend to look really too heavy when they are lifted up because I have broadish shoulders and bras that lift too much just make my boobs appear very wide (then the tail of Spence adds to it) and I’d prefer no cleavage.

Here are some photos for reference. The black and white one is a 2 year old 36C Maidenform tshirt bra an

Sensory Processing Advice- Touch Sensitivity

Hello beautiful people, I need some advice.

My 3 year old is developing a sensory processing sensitivity with his hands. We're still awaiting his official diagnosis but it's a 2 year wait time here so I don't have as many resources as I should and I prefer asking the autistic community anyway. He hates to get dirty and the look or feel of something on his hands can trigger a meltdown if I'm not fast enough. Right now it's not much of an issue for him because we're mostly at home and I have wipes on me at all times if we leave the house.

My question is for anyone who has grown up with touch sensory issues. My personal sensory issues are auditory and the treatment I was given was exposure so I had to listen to loud bass music for hours, which just gave me daily migraines growing up and I still can't handle most noises.

I don't want to force him to touch things that will stress him out, but I know that he's going to need to go out in the world sooner than later and he won't wear gloves. Does anyone have any advice for something that helped with kindness and not with cruelty?

Lsd and sensory processing sensitivity.

I am an experienced tripper and can handle myself on quite high doses. My girlfriend wants to drop some for the first time with me. My girlfriend, however, has sensory processing sensitivity. From her describing what it is like to me, it is already some what like being in a trip (without the psychedelic headspace and visuals).

She is really sensitive to sounds, and strong emotions, and stress can be overwhelming. In a quiet lecture room, the ventilation system is really loud and distracting to her. A sound which most people don’t really notice. It is almost as if her brain already doesn’t filter a-lot of needless stimuli, something which in my experience Lucy can also do.

Does anybody have any idea if this is a good idea? I’m planning on giving her a fairly small, 100ug dose. In my experience LSD is all about the setting, hence we are planning on going on a hike to this really nice sea in the Bavarian alps. I am generally able to comfort her when she is overwhelmed with negative emotions. But I don’t know how lsd can affect someone like this. She has some experience with weed (thanks to me, terrible influence ik) and she once took a small dose of mdma with me. I was scared of giving her a proper dose, she barely felt it, however also handled herself just fine.

Any input would be appreciated, much love!

Sensory Processing Sensitivity and MBTI Types

Hello everyone, I recently posted a poll in each MBTI type's subreddit to determine how many members of each type are highly sensitive persons (HSPs). I made this poll because I was studying sensory processing sensitivity (the trait that defines a person as an HSP, i.e. all HSPs have SPS and all people with SPS are HSPs). You can learn more about what it means to be highly sensitive by looking at any of the original polls because in each poll I linked a variety of studies and summaries of those studies (links to the original polls will be posted below). Anyways, I have gotten the results back from the polls, so I would like to present the data. The data and data analysis can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lpqCRPQkCRZTfXmobdiUZOwo2ShIrGrf/view?usp=sharing. The following is a ranking of the sensitivity of each type by gender beginning with the most sensitive at the top and ending with the least sensitive on the bottom according to the poll results:

Male Results

Female Results

As you likely noticed, two types (INTPs and INTJs) were not included in the rankings. The INTP subreddit unfortunately does not allow for polls, so although I did make a post asking users to comment on their results there were not enough INTP responses to perform data analysis. The INTJs were not included because their moderators decided to delete my post because they did not like that I was posting a poll in each types' subreddit (and they also permanently banned me from their subreddit for the post without even so much as warning me).

The data above shows (perhaps unsurprisingly) that females are more likely to be HSPs than males (or at least they are more likely to score higher on the questionnaire). Also, SPS has been shown to be correlated with introversion (but it is not the same as introversion) and these results confirm this because in general introverted personality types had more HSPs than extroverted personality types. Another takeaway from the data is that feelers are more likely to be HSPs than thinkers. In fact, with the female results all of the thinker types scored lower than the feeler types (this trend

Thoughts on the concept of sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) and highly sensitive person (HSP)

Hello everyone, I have recently been reading about the concept of the highly sensitive person (HSP). This concept was popularized by Elaine Aron (some of her published research can be found here: Research Articles by Elaine and Her Collaborators – The Highly Sensitive Person (hsperson.com)). The general idea surrounding the theory is that some individuals (about 20% of the population) have an inherent trait that causes them to process stimuli more deeply (sensory processing sensitivity, SPS) which makes them more sensitive to the external environment and stressful situations. HSPs also process emotions more deeply and are more sensitive to the emotional states of those around them. Elaine Aron states that SPS is different from introversion because it can also be experienced by extroverts.

Elaine Aron has a simple test online to supposedly test to see if a person is an HSP here: Are You Highly Sensitive? – The Highly Sensitive Person (hsperson.com). However, I personally think this self-test is quite weak and unreliable for a variety of reasons. First, the questions seem too vague and subjective, so they almost appear like a horoscope. This first point is further compounded by the fact that for this self-test individuals are not allowed to rate themselves on scale (for example, from 1 to 5 with 5 being strongly agree) and are instead forced into a binary yes or no response (this is corrected in her scale for researchers here: Measurement Scales for Researchers – The Highly Sensitive Person (hsperson.com) but I think that she should have designed her online self-test with this same scale from 1 to 7). Lastly, there is no reverse wording for any of the questions which could lead to agreeability bias. This could be easily corrected by reverse wording all 27 questions to make the test a total of 54 questions, similar to what is done for Big Five tests.

Additional research has shown that SPS can be further divided into three categories: ease of excitation (EOS), low sensory threshold (LST), and aesthetic sensitivity (AES) (A psychometric evaluation of the Highly Sensitive Person Scale: The components of sensory-processing sensitivity and their relation to the BIS/BAS and β€œBig Five” - ScienceDirect). Subs for people with Sensory Processing Sensitivity

I was just wondering if anyone here knew of any subs for people with sensory processing sensitivity? I joined this sub thinking it was for people with SPS but can see that it’s more for people who are sensitive emotionally/sensitive to others emotions rather than for people with SPS. I’m sure that there is an overlap, since people with SPS also tend to be highly sensitive to other people’s emotions and am hoping that someone here might know of a sub for people who struggle with SPS and overstimulation of the senses.

Any other HSPs (Highly Sensitive People) with ADHD? (Sensory Processing Sensitivity)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensory_processing_sensitivity >...an increased sensitivity of the central nervous system.... People with high SPS report having a heightened response to stimuli such as pain, caffeine, hunger, and loud noises.[4] According to Boterberg et al., these individuals are "believed to be easily overstimulated by external stimuli...."

If you've heard of the concept of HSPs and rolled your eyes, you're not alone. I thought it sounded like a contrived reason to label yourself special. I also thought that about ADHD, and I have both, so. Here we are.

Like ADHD, it appears to be a biological difference: a more reactive nervous system. But it means I've confused people for a long time. Emotional pop music makes me feel intense despair in two seconds flat. My neighbor yelling across the street multiple times makes me want to go strangle him. Ugly overhead lighting means I would rather sit in the dark. If I ever drink a full pot of coffee, I'll probably need to go to the hospital.

Also, more reactive emotions. Once, as a kid, I got startled by a neighbor's dog, and was too afraid to pet him. When I got home, I sobbed for hours because I thought I'd hurt the dog's feelings. That kind of thing. (Yes, sometimes I feel like a psycho, LOL.)

Since accepting both of these things about myself, my life has gotten 10x better. But it's a pain in the arse to figure out how to manage both at once. I'm easily bored, and crave novelty, but am also overcautious, and easily overwhelmed.

Anyone else out there? Gripes, tips, success stories?

EDIT: Y'all's stories are super interesting. Keep 'em coming! It's great to hear it's not just us.

OPINION: I have 'Sensory processing sensitivity' personality traits, here's why I find this Superman highly relatable.

>Sensory processing sensitivity (SPS), a personality trait, a high measure of which defines a highly sensitive person (HSP) has been described as having hypersensitivity to external stimuli, a greater depth of cognitive processing, and high emotional reactivity.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensory_processing_sensitivity

There's a lot to be said about this personality trait, but it just dawn on me:

Of course Clark Kent would be "hyper-sensitive", duh.

I find it strange that it dawn on me like that, since I've been massive fan of Man of Steel [and Snyder] since a long time, and always found that Superman really relatable to me, but somehow never made that connection.

So here's how I especially connected with this Superman through how I deal with SPS:

I'm highly susceptible to people's reaction to me, I'm full of doubt, I have problems taking decisions since I tend to incorporate a lot of details and subtleties while weighting solutions [I consider everything to be complex matters with lots of information to cross-reference], I'm extremely empathic because higly sensible to people's emotion and thoughts, have a strong desire to step on my own ego for the sake of others and do good, I have strong feelings all the time that comes off stoicly, either sadness or happiness, they are not overwhelming, they feel humbling more than anything else.

I always wanted to help people, yet the fact that most of them don't want my help always kind of fuck me up. Because I'm highly receptive to them pushing me away or being agressive towards me, and yet at the same time I have a strong urge to want to help them anyway. There's a dichotomy of me wanting to scream FUCK YOU in their face and yet at the same time hugging them and saying I understand why they are that way.

Man of Steel and Batman v Superman helped me deal with that. It taught me to listen to the good in me and focus on that, even when people are pushing you away. That the empathic and understanding parts of me are those I should listen to.

I have no idea if this personnality trait was intended for the character, considering his super powers (and being hyper-sensitive), but...

This Superman literally, in the real world, gave me Hope.

I want to add this:

I also think that the 'the world is too big' segment in Man of Steel seems like a dead giveaway of that, of feeling overwhelmed by every sensory input possible, including thoughts processes and dealing with information overflow. W

As part of my course I am conducting a research project exploring how sensitivity of personality and childhood parental bonding interact to influence the types of coping strategies people employ, and the levels of social anxiety they experience. I would like to invite people over the age of 18 years old to participate in this project by completing an online questionnaire. The online questionnaire is completely anonymous, participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time without explanation by closing your web browser. The questionnaire should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. To participate in the study please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YQTX2RW I thought I would drop a message to this subreddit because I am sure that there will be a number of redittors here who would find the topic of this research project interesting. Results of the project will be available in November. Your participation and thoughts are appreciated!
