A list of puns related to "Security hacker"
The reason is I really am thinking that after I graduate and get my bachelors then I may want to get a masters degree while I work on the side towards becoming an ethical hacker.
I know that knowing how to program is ideal for hacking, but also that knowledge of cybersecurity is ideal as well.
I want to be an ethical hacker.
Two years until graduation from this Fall. Iβm still working towards a bachelors and I am most of the way through.
PLEASE note 50k coins have been stolen from my encrypted wallet. I would like to know how this is possible. I will explain my loss in detail so there is NO confusion.
In 2014, I acquired dogecoin for around 2 months through various transactions on ebay and other means. Up until last week, that laptop sat on a shelf with a dead battery and no internet connection whatsoever.
At the beginning of this month, I downloaded a new 64 bit wallet, overwrote the wallet.dat file and allowed the wallet to update and download the blockchain.
As it finished this morning, I realized that on 5/6/2021, a -50,000 transaction had occurred WITHOUT any knowledge whatsoever on my part. My old and new wallets show as being fully locked and no passphrases were EVER given out, printed or ever looked at.
Looking into more detail into this "transaction", it is CLEAR someone STOLE my coins by tracking down an older transaction and redirecting it into THEIR wallet. This is the address of the thief: DGoBxd82tyyhPBbd1qcmAdqJVsWyANnNsQ
By the looks of the wallet's activities, this one account has been doing this for a few weeks now:
https://dogechain.info/address/DGoBxd82tyyhPBbd1qcmAdqJVsWyANnNsQ
How can something like this happen? I can prove the 50k transaction I originally made because the addresses are clearly in the blockchain.
Here is the specific transaction of my STOLEN coins: https://dogechain.info/tx/759bb9e9ea8cc7d13053fa5376555150cd899f850d07124853d67d9717349857
The address the coins were taken from is a random RECEIVING address I gave the guy who I bought the coins from.. How is this possible?
Now, unless I'm a complete idiot and messed up severely - This is a very serious matter and a very serious breach of security. I would love some feedback on this from someone smarter than me.
Should a NEW doge wallet be updated (blockchain) BEFORE copying an old wallet.dat file over?
UPDATE on the wallet - I downloaded the wallet on 5/10/2021 so this happened BEFORE I had any kind of wallet online. So they stole the coins right of the blockchain??
I have so many questions now. Biggest one is - Can I get MY coins back??
PLEASE HELP I'm freaking out here...
BEFORE WE BEGIN i have to state this that GHOST IS INNOCENT AND HAD NO CONSENT IN THIS HIS ACC WAS STOLEN and the other acc might be stolen as well so idk
a friend who i used to play cs go warned me out of the blue that he"accidentaly reported me" knowing what it meant(scam),i indulged him standard scam, showed me the acc friended him yada yada "im a valve employee your acc is marked for deletion " same shit the problem is that he HACKED my friends account and i know that it was hacked because 1 he has 1 k hours in cs go and plays regularly on that acc so he wont risk losing it and 2 he is ROMAINIAN and if he were to scam me he would have tried to scam me in my MAIN language here is a timeline of the events (glad i didnt posted this earlier) and told me that his acc logged from moscow so there MIGHT be a breach in the system (i reached that conclusion because i saw multiple similar scams on this reddit in the last couple of days to check if there was a pattern)
PS 1 there are 3 rows you read from top to bottom then you start the next row
2 the scammer account might also be hacked but IM NOT SURE

Now it might seem not related to crypto and THETA, but it actually is, because once we go the crypto route we should also become more aware of the security and privacy issues surrounding the tech we use. Now that we are responsible for the safety of our money/value, we must also need to use our devices more responsibly. Our devices are not 100% secure at all and much work needs to be done until we can get to a point where it can be considered a bit safer.
Before advancing please keep in mind this 4 simple basic rules:
RULE #1: Never EVER give your Wallet Private Key or Mnemonic Phrase to anyone. Also don't copy paste these keys into any kind of app, software tool, website or wtv except the official THETA Wallet. Write down the Mnemonic Phrase on a piece of papel, roll it and keep it around your neck inside a little tube or something. Also don't take screenshots of the phrase and keep the file inside your Phone or PC etc. You'll be hacked and robbed of your crypto.
RULE #2: Don't answer private DM on Reddit or anywhere else that is Crypto related. Assume that everyone doing that is a scammer. And please don't press any links these people send you on private DMs not even on reddit posts. If you're not sure what the link is for, if it's not obvious what is is, don't click it.
RULE #3: Don't answer private DMs on Reddit or anywhere else that is Crypto related. Assume that everyone doing that is a scammer.
RULE #4: Buy a hardware wallet if you can afford one and keep your Crypto there. THETA is still not supported natively on Ledger or Trezor wallets but the team found a work around and it works as long as you have the ETH wallet installed. (I use Ledger, don't know about Trezor actually but guess its the same).
I keep seeing posts with people complaining they were robbed of their coins/tokens, scammed, etc. For most of us it became obvious by now that Private Keys and Mnemonic Phrases should NEVER be shared with anyone or anything, including apps, devices, websites, trading tools, bots, supposed support agents, our mom etc. Except of course in case of death someone you trust should have access to your wallet: family, wife etc.
But still people who are new to the crypto scene are not careful enough and end up losing their hard earned money because they were reckless. Just the other day I read a post from some guy who took a screenshot of the mnemonic phrase and stored the file on the phone, and then wonders how anyone could hack the p
