I've been trying to find the answer to this question but no luck. So I thought I'd give this intelligent community a try. I and members of my family have all been stopped at security when re-entering the USA (all American) and most of us were marked in the C category. My sister recently returned from the UK and was put into an R category. None of us know what this means and was wondering if anyone from the TSA world (or anyone with any information) could tell us what this means? None of us were given any solid answers when we asked. Anyone?
Not sure how this hasn't been added as a feature in APEX its been a problem sense day 1.
Thoughts on adding a feature that will auto select your chosen Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary legend.
Primary taken -> Secondary
Secondary taken -> Tertiary
We have all had to step away from the keyboard to rush back and find someone picked our main or the legend we are completing challenges on to then be given a legend we hate.
Hi! I have recently received news from the local embassy that my application has qualified for the secondary screening in which my documents will be sent to japan to supposedly be re-selected along with other applications with other countries. From what i've heard; both from Travis Senzaki's blog as well as former alumni's; is that if your application entered the secondary screening, you can already be certain that you will be accepted. Is that statement correct?
I walk past the RAH most mornings. Ever since the Adelaide test match there has been a huge line at the RAH walk in testing site. 200 + by 8am. This morning, 5 people total. I though i would go and ask someone what was going on, was it closed today? There is a guy that stands at the front of the tent and has been doing crowd control type stuff the last few weeks. High vis clothing, n95, goggles. Wouldnβt take him to be a medical professional, not dressed or acting like any of the medical staff there, but obviously paid to be there and keep things moving for the nurses etc inside doing the testing. A security guard/crowd control.
Before i could ask him what was happening a small cue was of people coming to get tested was forming. The guy asked them questions; why are you here, are you vaccinated, what was the nature of your close contact, how sick are you etc.
The first couple; close contacts 10 days ago, vaccinated, now sore throats. The guy: its probably just the dry hot weather. Do you have aircon at home, itβs probably the aircon. Go home. You donβt need a test. SAPOL came around this morning and we are only testing severely symptomatic people now.
Second guy; close contact 2 days ago, sore throat, his boss wants him to have a test. The guy: same spiel. βGo and enjoy the weather and sunshineβ. If your boss demands a test tell him to call SAPOL. SAPOL are saying if an employer needs a negative test from their employee they should pay for a rapid antigen test. The system is too overloaded. Tell your boss to call SAPOL, go home
Third guy; Iβm here because SA heath contacted me yesterday and told me to come and get a test: Old mate starts going on his spiel again until a nurse comes out has a quick chat to the kid, and brings him in to have a test.
Has their been a change to testing policy announced? Who is directing SAPOL to go to testing sites and tell them to knock back anyone who doesnβt have βsevereβ symptoms (as judged by a security guard)? Are people still isolating if close contacts? Iβd be pretty annoyed if i had isolated for 7 days, including Christmas, as per Government directive and now the government says a close contact is not serious enough to warrant a PCR test.

There are a couple different timelines that people have been hearing about the second screening results for the 2021 research category. There is a chance that some of us will start to get the secondary screening results soon.
If you receive the result, please write the country you were accepted from and the date you received the result.
Also, please let us know if you receive any update from the embassy. In my case, the embassy coordinator told me (during the first week of March) that the timeline from Tokyo was that the secondary screening was until the end of March and results would be released from April onward.

Update March 31, 2021: My embassy coordinator confirmed that only those who are rejected will be notified during the secondary screening. In addition, she is currently confirming that the secondary screening will finish today (end of March), indicating that those who did not receive any information from their embassy have passed the secondary screening. She will follow-up with me this week, so I will add another update once I hear back from her.
Update April 7, 2021: Some students in the WhatsApp group received an email from Osaka University this morning regarding a placement exam for language classes. Some other students received an email from their supervisor confirming lab placement.
Update April 16, 2021: More students have received confirmation from professors, while most are still waiting. I sent out an email to my professor and they told me that I was a confirmed scholar and that I would receive my final letter in some months. It seems like those who applied to schools that did not allow contact with professors during the LoA stage such as UTokyo, have not received any information.
Update May 27, 2021: Anyone who applied for the 2021 research category (currently waiting for final placement and official results) that would like to join the WhatsApp group, please send me a private chat/message for the link.
Update June 10, 2021: Embassy recommended students have started to receive passing results. There are around 5 members of the WhatsApp group that have received theirs. So far no rejections ππ
Update June 11, 2021: The results continue with about 25 students who have now received their passing result (no rejection reported thus far). Students who passed have been notified that a 14-day quarantine will be required for the scheduled Sept/Oct entry.
