A list of puns related to "Scenario (computing)"
my_qualifications: I have been working in a small family startup for the past 3 years as a software engineer. Have completed my BE in IT with a fairly decent CGPA of 7.86. I am planning to do masters in computer science in UK/Ireland. Is 1 year of masters in computer science enough? Also, I have heard that it is very difficult to get a job in both UK and Ireland. I will be taking a student loan, so it is very important for me to find a job. Can somebody help me to know the current scenario in UK/Ireland?
I made the simplest kernel that simply copies input to output and it still was around 90% memory usage. Was profiling with Nsight compute, and was wondering is it possible to get that last 10%.
Sometimes I like me some sweat inducing hypotheticals. I wouldn't call it FUD, because there is little to no basis for them. What is the biggest black swan event you can dream up? I'll start!
- Imagine if the staking contract for ETH 2.0 has a security flaw and all the ETH will be stolen from it.
- Imagine China building huge mining infrastructure in secret to wait for the right moment (lower hash rate) and attack the bitcoin network with a 51% attack.
- The first US spot BTC ETF gets approved and is immediately used to pump and dump Bitcoin. This leads to the SEC shutting down all crypto ETFs and banning all future "official" crypto financial products.
Did I rase your blood pressure? :D
With talks between NATO and Russia going nowhere, it feels inevitable that Russia will eventually make moves on Ukraine. If this happens, I believe China would follow soon with a move on Taiwan in order to put NATO and the US on a 2-front conflict scenario. I'm not sure how much this would affect average citizens here in the US, especially as I feel like we'll probably do nothing to intervene. However, because other countries in Europe and Asia will likely get involved, the US will be pressured to take some sort of action. I have a feeling that Russia or China (possibly both in coordination) would launch cyber attacks on the US power grid, leaving most of the country in the dark, without internet and power. If that were to happen, obviously there would be serious issues here in the states (we're already at each other's throats, waiting for a reason to implode). But I wanted to see what you guys thought. Is this a likely scenario? Or do you think there's other things that will more likely play out?
Before discovering Linux back in 2020 with Linux Mint, I was your standard Average Joe of a computer user - Windows 10 with a large bottom position taskbar that had combined icons and using Google Chrome as my browser.
After I used Linux for a while, I noticed changes in my computing habits - I started to use Firefox as my main browser, I switched to using a small top position panel with uncombined icons when it comes to desktop environments (all thanks to me liking that layout on Xubuntu), and I started to not fear the command line/terminal when it came to performing tasks on Windows and Linux alike. And in general, Linux made me become more aware of what exactly makes my computer do the things it does, and the tech world itself.
