Lyrics:
I feel my story's still untold
But I'll make my own happy ending
I guess I'd rather be alone
Than making do and mending
I think maybe I've outgrown this old town
I see you almost every day
And every time I turn around
Our love is stuck on replay
Replay
Replay
Replay
Replay
Every since we broke up
I've been afraid to go out
But I won't be a prisoner
Locked up in this house
I feel my story's still untold
But I'll make my own happy ending
But I'd rather be alone
Than making do and mending
Have I outgrown this old town?
I see you almost every day
And every time I turn around
Our love is stuck on replay
It's Murphy's law, I'm gonna meet you tonight
Just one match could relight the flame
And just when everything is goin' alright
All my hard work goes down the drain
And Murphy's law, I'm gonna meet you tonight
Just one match could relight the flame
And just when everything is goin' alright
Murphy's law's gonna strike again
It's gonna strike again
It's gonna strike again
What have I got to lose?
I'm so tired of complaining
Pretty soon I'll be breaking loose
And the scenery'll be changing
Now I'm back on my feet
Ain't looking over my shoulder
But if I put a foot wrong
I'll be goin' nowhere
When we talk, it gets around
There's other people's feelings
To think about, not just you and me
This small town mentality
It's Murphy's law, I'm gonna meet you tonight
Just one match could relight the flame
And just when everything is goin' alright
All my hard work goes down the drain
And Murphy's law, I'm gonna meet you tonight
Just one match would relight the flame
And just when everything is goin' alright
Murphy's law's gonna strike again
All my hard work keeps on going down the drain
All my hard work keeps on going down the drain
All my hard work keeps on going down the drain
All my hard work keeps on going down the drain
Murphy's law
Murphy's law
Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on
Murphy's law (keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on)
Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on
Murphy's law (keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on)
Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on
Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on
Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on
(repeating)

Hello everyone and welcome to the 2020 Nu-Disco Rate hosted by yours truly and /u/ElizabethDDoS! But before we get into the albums we will be rating, how about some good old genre discourse?
If you have been a part of the pop music conversation for the past year, you have undoubtedly heard of the so-called "disco revival" term being thrown left and right, sometimes with, but more often than not, without the right intent.
Nu-Disco is not anything new and the term has existed since the mid 90s to describe music that calls back to the classic disco era. "Nu" refers to a modern take on something, which in Nu-Disco's case is 70s disco. Nu-Disco is therefore not about replicating the sound of the 70s, but rather incorporating elements of it in fresh, modern takes. Nu-Disco influences can be everything from euro dance, heavy synths, electro, house, just to name a few genres. Drums and synthesizers are a heavy part of Nu-Disco as well. All of this is just scratching the surface of what entails the genre, but it's just to give you all an idea of where the genre is coming from.
We will be rating three contemporary women who have all made their unique take on the current Nu-Disco wave with stellar results. So strap on your best dancing shoes and get comfy in your kitchen disco because these albums are sure to make you want to dance!

Looking specifically for tracks that would play in a very hip (and very sweaty) club, steady danceable rhythms throughout and plenty of kick drums and synths. Reference tracks: Boy Harsher - 'Pain', Ela Minus - 'Megapunk'. Also club-friendly disco, even if it's less synth based, such as Róisín Murphy's 'Róisín Machine' album and Jessie Ware's 'What's Your Pleasure' are very welcome!
Howdy! Welcome back to Album of the Year 2020, the daily writing series where the users of r/indieheads discuss their favorite records of the year throughout the month of December. Today we have u/LazyDayLullaby talking about the newest release from Róisín Murphy, Róisín Machine.

Background by /u/LazyDayLullaby
Over the first couple decades of her life, Róisín Murphy moved from her birthplace of County Wicklow, Ireland (incidentally, the same Irish county some of my family came from) to Manchester and then Sheffield in northern England. Her musical preferences growing up moved from the noisy glory of the Jesus and Mary Chain to the increasingly electronic and dance-oriented house and club scenes. She met Mark Brydon by asking “Do you like my tight sweater?” (this became the name of their first album) and the two eventually became a couple and formed Moloko. Moloko’s music is hard to classify, and most of the labels that’ve been applied to their four studio albums (trip-hop, electronica, dance-pop, acid jazz, etc.) didn’t necessarily come from them, and don’t fully articulate how unique, stylistically wide-ranging, and downright entertaining they are. Murphy and Brydon eventually broke up, but they were still contractually obligated to release one last record — Statues — which ended up arguably being their best, in which Murphy digs into the raw emotions of the time and ultimately creates an album perfectly suited for dancing through the pain (or just dancing, if you’re pain-free).
From here, Róisín Murphy launched her solo career, releasing two fabulous albums two years apart (Ruby Blue and Overpowered), and continuing to experiment musically while also building on the danceable eccentricities that made Moloko what it was. She took a bit of a break from releasing new music and started a family, then came back in 2015 with Hairless Toys. Over the next several years, she released some excellent singles — including, notably,“Jealousy” (also in 2015). One more thing before diving in
