A list of puns related to "Royal Rumble (2006)"
There's been a lot of speculation about Royal Rumble 2006 and Showcase Mode. It's been seemingly confirmed to be included, but how can they implement it? Will we get the whole match, or will we be limited to the final handful of entrants like in WWE 2K16? I did some research to try to figure that out.
There's no way they they would license everybody in that Rumble -- which has the likes of Simon Dean, Jonathan Coachman, Sylvan Grenier, Eugene, Orlando Jordan, and Viscera that nobody is asking for and wouldn't be worth the cost and effort -- to make it playable from start to finish. That's a pipe dream. There are a couple of major obstacles beyond that, however.
Let's get to the end of the match. The quick, back-to-back eliminations of Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro by Shawn Michaels left seven wrestlers in the ring. In the order of elimination, they were Shelton Benjamin, Shawn Michaels, Carlito, Rob Van Dam, Triple H, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio.
The only two ways I can see this working are as follows:
Once again this is how I envisioned my Rumble in my TEW booking lol, 2205 was the same. However in my 2004 save, Eddie did not pass away, so Rey (Spoiler) doesn't have that storyline going for him. So here is how it went, hope you enjoy.

The Royal Rumble is always one of the more enjoyable and unpredictable nights of the year, however this year the rumble match seems to be playing second fiddle to the title matches instead. Either way we are at least guaranteed a 60 minute brawl for the right to main event Wrestlemania.
A typical video package opens the show before being introduced to the Raw, Smackdown and the Spanish announce team.
Match 1 - Kid Kash (c) vs Jamie Noble vs Funaki vs Nunzio vs Paul London vs Gregory Helms in a six man open invitational Texas tornado match for the Cruiserweight Championship.
This is invited to all former cruiserweight champions, Helms makes the surprising switch and qualifies after being the cruiserweight champion as Hurricane in 2002.
All 5 gang up on Helms until it comes down to the pinfalls and then teamwork goes out the window. Nunzio with a neckbreaker, Noble with a powerslam to the Italian for 2. Helms takes a dropsault from London and London lands on Noble for 2. Helms throws London to the floor. Nunzio delivers the Sicilian slice. Jamie is catapulted, Funaki delivers a bulldog and lots more pins are broken up. Kid Kash chops Nunzio to the floor then takes a wheel kick from Noble for two. Funaki Irish whip on Noble who flies through the ropes with a suicide dive. Funaki up top, Kash shoves him to the floor onto the rest of the pile. London with a kick to the head and then a mad shooting star press off the top the floor!! He shakes off whatever damage he did to himself and climbs to the top rope with Helms, Gregory with a swinging neckbreaker off the top! Kash with a dropkick to Helms and then the dead level to London! Cover is broken up as five of them brawl inside. Noble delivers a dropkick to Kash, Funaki kicks Noble and sits up top, Noble catches him and delivers a fireman carry gut buster! Dragon sleeper locked on! He ducks a kick by Helms, releases the sleeper and grabs Helms who sends Jamie to the floor, shining wizard to Funaki! Helms pins Funaki!
Exactly what an opener should be like, it gets the crowd ready for the rest of the card with a fast paced match with a couple of heart stopping dives to the floor and some good fluid sequences. Helms winning the belt actually gives a storyline to the cruiserweight title for a change.

I love the Royal Rumble, and I love stats. But every year I feel we get the same handful of stats told to us. So I've done some research, here's some that you hopefully didnt know!
From 2010 to 2015, the Number 1 Entrant followed the pattern of the same three men, in the same order: Ziggler, Punk, Miz, Ziggler, Punk, Miz.
A record six men have won the Rumble at age 36 - Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Steve Austin, Chris Benoit, Batista and Edge. Roman Reigns is 36, as is Cody Rhodes, Jon Moxley and the Usos.
Jeff Jarrett holds the record for longest time between Rumble appearances. There was a 20 year gap between his appearances in 1999 and 2019.
Four men have drawn the same number three times β Edge (5), Shawn Michaels (18), Batista (28) and The Undertaker (30).
Test holds the record for the shortest Iron Man performance in a Rumble, 26:17 in 2000.
Farooq has had four Rumble appearances that lasted less than a minute, a record.
Charles Wright has appeared as a record five different characters in the Rumble.
Stone Cold holds the record for most Iron Man appearances with 3.
Only 5 men have entered the Rumble from both #1 and #2 - Ted DiBiase, The British Bulldog, Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio and Elias. Rey and DiBiase have also entered from #30.
In 2010 MVP eliminated Miz and himself within seven seconds of entering. This remains the record for the shortest time spent in the Rumble while getting an elimination.
Chyna has the best elimination to time ratio in Rumble history, with more than one appearance. She averages an elimination every 36 seconds. She did however get eliminated in 30 seconds in both of her appearances. Brian Kendrick eliminates one person every 14 seconds, but has only appeared once. Goldberg is 1 every minute, with 6 total minutes.
Last year, Randy Orton broke the record for longest time in the Rumble without an elimination, with 58 minutes and 30 seconds.
It has been 7 years since a wrestler eliminated their tag partner / stablemate in the Men's Rumble, a record. Last to do it was Roman eliminating Seth and Dean
The Miz and Shawn Michaels are the only men to have achieved the shortest time in one Rumble and the longest time in another
Booker T is the only competitor to hold the shortest time in a Rumble on two separate occasions (2002 and 2006)
Let me know if you see any errors!

Kurt Angle had been eliminated by The Undertaker and then returned to the ring, and eliminated The Undertaker in retaliation.
Thanks to a combination of work, getting drunk on New Yearβs Eve and not getting home till 1am in the morning, i had to delay the 06 Rumble rebooking. Plus, the recent NXT personnel releases - Regal and Thatcher especially - just depressed me. Still, Regal wonβt be going anywhere when I return to my rebooking series for Mania 1 to Mania 40 sometime around February.
