Is this a common question about this play? It seems the first genuine wrinkle.

It was She-Burch (who you might know joined the cast of MK as a voice actress for Sonya's daughter, and so gained direct access to the devs) and an influential feminist "parenting educator" named Rosalind Wiseman attacking Mortal Kombat for alleged sexism.
Sample from some (male) woke 8-year-old whom they paraded at Game Developers Conference 2015 (and totally didn't feed it to say):

Which doesn't make any sense, cause if you're playing a video game like that, you expect everyone to be armored, because it's a fighting game. And if these girls are not dressed how we think they should be dressed and not objectified like this, it defeats the entire purpose of wearing armor. So, I just thought it's kind of polluting young kids' brains, this is how you should dress, like women would dress everywhere. And not just, like... yeah. [What if she was dressed the way he wanted?] I would play it a lot more, I'd definitely respect the character a lot of more, for, like, having some dignity.
And then everyone clapped. But no, seriously everyone there at GDC did clap. (No one cared even for the obvious thing that he and other "young kids" aren't supposed to play such games at all.)
Now, compare to what Mortal Kombat art director Steve Beran and overall director Ed Boon said about changing Mortal Kombat:

Basically I want the game play of Stardew Valley meets the art style of The Last Unicorn with the production value of Red Dead Redemption 2. In VR. Please. Please please please.
Is anyone else similarly frustrated?
Also I've played A LOT of vr games, and some have definitely scratched some of this itch (e.g. Moss, The Room VR, Nature Treks, Natural Magic, etc), but I'm totally open to suggestions anyone might have.
Edit: Quite a few people have mentioned the Skyrim port. I'll admit this looks interesting, although probably a bit too fighty and not enough gently swaying to the song of spring as I ascend to become the Goddess of Bluebells.
A lot of people have suggested wonderful games like Spiritfarer and Cosy Grove. I probably should have added that in my head, the game I requested would be like a massive open world type deal, where I can virtually wander for hours, collect virtual berries, stroke virtual unicorns, etc. But regardless a lot of these options look awesome and I will definitely be trying some of them outside of VR.
Finally, whilst I await this post being picked up by the games industry, enthusiastically put into production, and given a summer 2022 release date which is totally committed to, I will accept the following to be ported to vr as placeholders:
- A non 3rd person view of Zelda Botw.
- The Last Guardian (full game please you god damn teases)
- Abzu.
I guess that’s one more thing you thought I’d be dependent on you for forever. But I figured it out. Just like I figured out all the rest of the stuff as well. If I can do all that on my own since I was a kid, then the problem was never me. It was you refusing to teach me life skills and then getting upset when I couldn’t do them perfectly. But you knew that. That was the point. To make me feel weak and helpless. I’m pretty strong and adaptable all on my own.
I’m doing pretty great without you or any of “your help”.

I honestly didn’t think anyone would care about this. I just posted it because I was feeling accomplished but I didn’t have anyone to celebrate with yesterday. After years of trying to figure out the recipes and missing the food, I just decided to do it myself even if it didn’t work. And I’m really proud that I actually did!
Thank you for being the family I want and giving me the support I always needed. It helps while I heal from these wounds, more than you can know.

Vendors basically push their design solutions and frankly the lack of expertise among our engineering departments leaves them with no major alternatives besides historical reliance on the relationship with said vendors. Basically no one even questions SEL or Emerson or Scheider , Rockwell etc; they can sell shit in a box at this point and no one will question them. It's a matter of time not if when something major happens because no one diversified their OEMs usage.. Not to mention they have us by the balls because a lot of equipment isnt interoperable with other vendors so we have to keep expanding with the same vendor.
what are your thoughts?
