Rivals
Niagara University The rivalry for RIT and Niagara dates back to Niagaraβs first varsity season back in the 1996-1997 season, in which they played an independent schedule that included playing DIII opponents. From the get go, Niagara has always dominated the series against RIT, currently leading the series 20-14-12. Also for some reason or another we just really hate teams that wear purple and have eagle mascots (back in DIII we were rivals with Elmira College Soaring E

I'm booking my flight from qatar. I'm joining rochester institute of technology for fall 2021. Could someone please confirm the airport? I can see Monroe county international airport with ROC code and rochester international airport with RST code. But isn't the airport supposed to be Great Rochester international airport? Please help
It's looking pretty bleak for me, but I'm trying to get on those ECs senior year and hoping for a miracle for Syracuse. Obviously not going to the Ivies lol
Academics:
-GPA: 3.4 UW, hopefully 3.5 W by the time I apply (2.6 Freshman, 3.8 Sophomore, 3.9 Junior)
-SAT: 1440 (710 Reading/Writing, 730 Math)
Coursework:
AP English, AP Psychology, and AP World History - all Sr year. Seeing if I can take online AP Art History or possibly AP Environmental Science.
My school only offers a limited amount. I was going to take some APs my junior year, but my schedule with the Digital Media program would only allow for one once you factored in my required classes and College prep, so I had to decided between the two. I chose DMP. Regretted it.
Major:
-Interior Design/Interior Architecture (Possibly undeclared design major depending on the school)
Extracurriculars/Hobbies/Work Experience:
-Digital Media Production (Junior). Part of a program that allows students to take 2/5 classes at a separate building in a specialized area. Projects made for the class played on my local TV station. I was the only first-year student out of a class of 20-30 who was offered to join the smaller class of second-years, because I had advanced beyond that level.
-Rotary Interact (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) - looking into a possible leadership position for my senior year.
-Forensics (Senior)
-Quizbowl (Sophomore, Junior, Senior)
-Editing with After Effects (8th Grade, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior) - dedicated extensive time to learning After Effects and starting an editing account that averaged 1,000 views but reached 4,000 at points.
-Crew Member at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, working on becoming a Crew Leader (Junior, Senior, but prior work experience)
-Promotional Manager for the Drama Club (secured for Senior year) - I would be designing flyers and advertisements for the Drama Club/productions and plays, along with running the social media and handling everything promotional.
-Photography (Sophomore, Junior, Senior) - just as a hobby
Yes, I know my ECs are pretty shit. I wasn't very involved in high school. This post may be meant as a reality check.
Portfolio: I don't have fantastic drawing/painting skills so I'm planning on submitting a mix of the following:
-Hand-drawn floor plans and inspiration boards for a project combined into one page
-Technically accurate floor plans in Layout
-3d renders of interior design projects

Is it a prestigious university?
What do you think of their bioinformatics program? They have a BS/MS in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Has anyone else gone through one of these accelerated programs? Did you enjoy it?
Can someone please provide their inputs for the above two especially in terms of curriculum, quality of the courses, and the average pay after graduation(I have referred to the career report on the websites, I am hoping for a review from a student/ex-student) .
Hello everyone! Iβm David Munson and itβs my privilege to be the president of this incredible university. Each day my appreciation for this remarkable community only deepens. It's thrilling to see all of the wonderful things our students, faculty and staff are accomplishing.
I'm excited to be back to take part in another AMA! On Feb. 24 I'll be here starting at 6 pm to answer your questions. Please feel to start asking questions in this thread. I'll try to get to as many as I can.
EDIT TO GET THINGS STARTED: I want to thank everyone for taking part in this event. There were dozens of great questions submitted in advance. In the spirit of the AMA platform, I am going to try and address as many questions as I can. Please understand that many of the questions covered the same issues, so we will try to choose those that best represented the topic.
Hey, despite the Simpsons meme elsewhere on this subreddit, I like these types of interactions! But I also want to emphasize that discussions like this one tonight are not the only way to get answers to your questions. Just last week, my wife Nancy and I held one of regular Fireside Chats. Only a handful of students showed up, but we had some great dialogue and I learned a lot. I would encourage anyone to come and have your questions addressed directly. I also do a quarterly show on WITR radio. And, you can email me at munson@rit.edu. Iβm always eager to speak with students, both formally and informally, to solicit your suggestions and to better understand issues.
I took some time over the weekend to start addressing a few of the pre-posted questions. Getting started early gave me a chance to reach out to a few subject-matter experts who could help with some of the answers, because I certainly donβt have them all. Iβd like to start this discussion with the question that received the highest number of upvotes. Then we will work our way through the list and take additional questions online. Letβs get this AMA started!
7:39 PM: Thanks so much for a great discussion everyone! I hope to see many of you around campus.

Is RIT a good school for MS in Electrical Engineering focusing on Robotics? How is the faculty? What's the quality of the labs?
My weighted gpa is 3.62. I'm an Asian male. I'm in both national honor society and math honors society. I'm in fencing for 4 years and marching band for 2 years. I'm not taking the SAT or ACT. I plan to major in software engineering. I'm going for a Bachelors degree. I'm doing early decision.
Can they give nice aid like somewhat full ride?
Please don't ask for stats
