A list of puns related to "Rice polisher"
Hey y'all, I'm thinking about growing some upland rice next season. Hulling the rice is easy enough, but the problem is, I don't have access to a rice polisher to make white rice! The machines online are pretty expensive, and I'm saving up my money for a proper grain mill. I've searched all over Google to no avail. Anyone got any rice advice?
Hi everyone,
Not sure if there are people in this subreddit that made sake before, and I asked this also over in r/homebrewing... But I am looking into making my first sake! I recently started making koji, and have been brewing for years, so would love to try this out, but I've been seeing a lot of recommendations for polishing rice first, which rice polishers are too expensive for me right now. Anyone out there have any luck making their own? Any other tips out there?
Is there a way to polish rice manually? I plan on brewing my first own Sake and
making such an effort should result in a better quality Sake. So good Sushi rice is 90% polished,
if there is a way or rice that is more polished that would good to know. Making it manually, I think about using a col lender and a pestle, that might work. Or would that damage the rice?
Thanks fellow Sake lovers!
hi there, I was thinking about how to take my rice wine hobby and to the next level and I would like to experiment with polishing rice at home.
How would you go about doing this? Is there a specific machine that I should buy?
Is there any real difference between the powders? Iβm debating between calming and the gentle. I typically use rice powders 2-3 times a week at night.
Just realized that I used a semi polished brown rice, instead of regular brown to make BRF for my cakes on my first grow about 3 days ago. It's a specialty rice that has some of the hull removed but not all of it. I have only ever seen it in Japanese and Korean markets. Anyone ever ran into this problem? Obviously going to wait and see how they do, I was just wondering if anyone knew what to expect.
This might be a good time to get to know your local small businesses and give them some support.
Just today I went down to get a large bag of rice, and a bag of dried pasta. Plenty of both available.

My local Morrisons has been completely cleaned out of pasta, tomatoes, pesto/sauces, flour, and rice.
Not sure if this is the right sub for this or not but Iβm looking for an EMPTY tatcha rice polish jar. Please provide pics and price shipped.
Edited to include reason for wanting an empty one: I really like the packaging but canβt really afford the price. Figured an empty one and putting another rice powder i like in it would satisfy the itch and upcycle someoneβs empty container so win win
I would do ANYTHING to smell like that all the time, itβs so good. Anyone know of any perfumes that smell similar??? Help a girl out!
I had a sample of the Tatcha rice enzyme powder and dammit I love it. It is the finest physical exfoliator Iβve found, and also has chemical exfoliants.
I bought the DHC face wash powder, and while I love it, it doesnβt have any exfoliating properties. Itβs literally a foaming face wash in powder form.
Any good recs for a chemical + ultra gentle physical exfoliator?

βHeyaw!β A burly man wearing ornate cowboy boots and sporting a huge holographic eagle tattoo. βHerz ta da nastiest pack of innies tβ haβ ever nuked a Brandon!β
βWheeewwwwww!β the crowded bar yelled as everyone raised their drinks, either a mug filled with beer or a slightly smaller one filled with an odd shimmery clear liquid.
Sheloran smiled and drank her mug of βvoid ginβ. She liked void gin very much! It was beyond yummy!
She turned to Jessie.
βIsnβt βinnieβ a bad word?β
βNah,β Jessie grinned as she wiped some foam from her face. βThey said βinnieβ not βinnerβ. That hard βrβ makes a LOT of difference. If dey callinβ yew an innie they are asking you to share a drink. Dey call you an inner an itβs an invite to punch them in the face.β
Sheloran shrugged and had some more yummy void gin. Seriously, that was some good stuff.
βBut youβre cool either way,β Jessie yelled over the throng as bluegrass flavored EDM started blasting. βYouβre a βzennerβ. You guys are cool by default. Any zenners that come out this far are usually up to the right sorts of no good. I think thereβs even an enclave of Korst a few miles from here.β
Sheloran dipped a fried chicken strip into a strange yellow sauce, which was also yummy.
βHow big is this place?β
βFifteen miles long and another three across,β Jessie replied.
βMiles?β
βThey measure things in βMerican here,β Jessie grinned. βItβs aboutβ¦ Bunny?β
β24.14 kilometers long,β Bunny replied over Jessieβs communicator, βand 4.82 kilometers across. But thatβs the interior habitable space. The actual station is a bit larger, believe it or not. Bannonβs surface is over one hundred and forty square milesβ¦ or 366 square kilometers if you are a filthy inner.β
βI knew it was huge!β Sheloran replied.
βItβs one of the largest,β Jessie said happily. βItβs because itβs so old. Bannon was built back when they were still in the inner asteroid beltβ¦β
She grinned impishly and leaned towards a rugged if slightly odd looking blonde, bearded man who had been hanging around Jessie since they got there. (and was the source of both hers and Sheloranβs unending stream of drinks)

I know by the 8th harvest I get the ability to pray for what weather I want but when do you get more animals or innovations to the rice process?
Any timelines for when the upgrades and what I need for them are much appreciated.
Yes, this is the third part of my actual, not-celeste hidden gems trilogy. I thought the second would be the last part but people asked me for more recs. First thread was almost a year ago, second thread was five months ago. I frequently try out new games so my list keeps evolving.
You know the deal: I enjoy making these posts because I enjoy playing games, and people keep asking for game recommendations all the time, especially Indie titles because there's so many and the sheer mass of them just keeps growing.
What also grows is the piles on top of piles of random ass shovelware games. So here's just my two cents to filter out the noise.
I won't waste your time, I know you enjoy playing games as well. Like I said: no Celeste on this list, definitely not Ori, not Bug Fables or Spiritfarer, or Skul: Hero Slayer here. You already know those, yes they're very good, let's move on.
So, on the first thread I recommended:
Akane
Lucah: Born of a Dream
Thumper
Subsurface Circular
20XX
Second thread:
CrossCode
Mutazione
Splasher
Sayonara Wild Hearts
Wandersong
Sakuna of Rice and Ruin
I can easily still recommend all these games, incredible titles. I have to say though that I may have overhyped Mutazione a bit. Just a bit, probably cause I wrote that right after finishing it. It's very good and worth playing, but I compared it to Night in the Woods... yeah, no. That's my only criticism to my past self, the rest of the titles all hold up and are very fun to play.
So here we go:
Honorable mention: My Friend Pedro -- it's very good. seriously very good. I don't have a very good guess as to if you know this game exists, hopefully, so it's here as an honorable mention just in case you don't. Go play it.
Paradise Killer -- a fascinating game. A Switch console exclusive (EDIT: I mean exclusive to consoles, came to PC too) that has a minuscule loud fanbase. It's like Phoenix Wright with vaporwave aesthetics, jazzy ass soundtrack, set in a walking simulator world with 3D collectathon mechanics and objectives.
Walk, listen to jazz, explore, find things, talk to people, collect evidence
So, the Phoenix Wright part. You are Lady Love Dies, an absolute babe and a defense attorney. You gott

I'm not exactly sure where to get a hold of it where I'm living, but I have Sekka Sushi Rice I use for cooking. However, I couldn't find the polished rice ratios online for any dinner rice brands.
Thank you!
Iβm hoping for some general thoughts or advice on texture improvements with sushi rice.
Iβve been making sushi at home for 6-7 years at this point. I feel like Iβm almost to a point of having restaurant quality rice. Just not quite.
Iβve done a ton of experimenting and feel like Iβm at a wall. The restaurant style seems to have a bit more tender of a grain. The Shari for the nigiriβs always seems to be a bit lighter and fluffier.
I have experimented with Tamaki Gold, Tamanishiki, other Koshihikari brands of short grain rice.
I generally use a mid tier Zojirushi rice cooker on sushi setting. Always rinse my rice 5-7 times then soak for 30 mins before cooking. Occasionally Iβll go stove top but the texture differences seem marginal.
Water ratio is the recommended amount in the rice cooker or 1:1.
After cooking, I have various types of sushi vinegars that Iβve experimented with. Anywhere from standard rice vinegar, salt, sugar to using aged red rice vinegar, kelp, etc. I generally do 1/8 cup of vin mix per dry cup of rice. I like my rice a little less sour.
When making rolls or nigiri, I try to be mindful not to press the rice and compact to make it dense. But there seems to be a fine line of keeping it holding itself together and tender vs falling apart and tender.
Not sure how much advice Iβll receive here. Hopefully this is the right audience to drum up some thoughts.
I want to get more rice polish but I also donβt want to spend the £££ on tatcha (even though I do love it) if there is another product that does the same thing and is as effective can you let me know any recommendations?
Thank you in advance!
