A list of puns related to "Record labels owned by James Brown"
For example, in photography you have agencies like Magnum and VII that are cooperatives. They're owned and run by the member photographers. Over time they occasionally admit new photographers.
It seems like jazz artists could organize and manage something a label in a similar way. And reap the rewards while having complete creative control individually. Or are labels less relevant these days?
What about a studio?
Interloper Records, based out of Procedural Universal Studios, was established with the goal of promoting ByteBeat artists within the Galactic Hub.
For a quick recap of the Wiki,
Anyone can submit tracks by sending me a link & in-game location for download
Tracks will be uploaded to the Galactic Hub YouTube Channel & listed with in-game location on the Wiki. This gives ByteBeat artists instant exposure to our 3,600+ subscribers.
Once submitted, anyone can download your ByteBeat tracks either in-game (to their ByteBeat library or for reuse at their own bases) or out-of-game via one of the many YouTube-to-mp3 services
You can submit 1 track per week. Each track qualifies you for a reward of 100 HubCoin
Anyone who downloads or otherwise enjoys an artist's music will be requested, although not required, to donate some HubCoin to the artist
Donations or payments to artists not interested in HubCoin go into a general fund which is divided evenly among all Interloper Records artists occasionally

I just read a little bit about how much record labels fuck the artists they sign on, and I was curious if record labels ran and founded by rappers themselves were better than these bigger companies. In the tattoo industry (what Iβm a part of) shops owned and founded by artists typically treat their artists better than ones just owned by business people because the artists have been their themselves and donβt want to fuck anyone.
Hey! I'm an Irish artist called Sion Hill- I've gone independent after being screwed by label deals for the last 4 years and I just released an E.P. on my own brand new label, Dead Rent. It's a blend of Soul/Pop/Blues music. I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!!

I figured I would try copyright before legal advice as it's pretty specific..
Basically I own a record label and the music is distributed by a distributor, who I have not reached out to yet about the issue as illegal music downloads are rampant and I'm sure they're used to it.
A website is putting up music from my label and multitudes (yes there are a LOT) of others for download. The big problem in my eyes is that the website is charging people a subscription fee or something like it to subscribe in order to have access to a lot of the content. They offer 1 free download link via a hosting site and then three other "premium" links that you need to be subscribed to see.
I have sent a DMCA request to the website but have received no response. I did reach out to the other "free download" hosting site with a DMCA request and they took down the content pretty quickly. This website, however, has not responded and as far as I can tell, without being a registered, paying member, the content is still up there.
Do you think an entertainment lawyer would be interested in a case like this? I personally know a lot of the other record label owners and could reach out to them and start building what could be considered a class action suit if we get a whole lot of people together as revenue is being stolen from all of us.
One problem I do foresee, however, is that I'm fairly certain the uploader/user is based in Russia, whose copyright laws I'm not so certain of but do recall hearing that they have some issues over there and need to catch up to us.
Any thoughts?

LeBron James seems to be ignoring the memo on Father Time's undefeated record. At age 37, LeBron has scored 25 points in 10 consecutive games. James is by far the oldest player to notch 10 straight 25-point games. He passes Michael Jordan, who did it at age 34 in 1997.
My name is Harley, and a few artists and myself are trying to start our own independent record label called Maryβs Quilt Records. If you are an artist that is super passionate about what you create, even outside of music, we would love to talk. We really just want to create an ever growing community of artists that help each other get their art out there and support each other whenever we can, and hopefully, someday make some money doing it.
Side note: we are absolutely brand new at this and still have huge kinks to work through, so any advice we can get is so incredibly welcome.
