Serialized Manga Magazines
Hi there! Something a bit different from the volume collections:
I've recently become obsessed with serialized manga magazines published in North America. When I was a kid I had a Shonen Jump sub and as an adult I've rediscovered it and expanded my horizons a bit. I find it to be my favorite way to read manga. I get to experience the cultural context of the manga, opinions and bonus content, contemporary mangas published side by side that provide even richer context, and overall I the same kind of spaced pacing that the mangaka intended and japanese readers originally experienced. And what's really cool is that some of these mangas go beyond the shonen/ shojo genres and you get really diverse content.
I have a few yers worth of Shonen Jump, and I have a few dozen of each of the other series I have pictured (I picked some choice ones for a list/ comparison). Would anybody be interested in a video where I sort of just flip through these and talk about the history of manga magazines? It's such a niche thing that I think there might be interest.

How come the manga was put in a weekly magazine?
Itβs not like it was popular enough to make a huge sales difference or unpopular enough to just get axed/thrown into a random magazine. At least it got one magazine cover so thatβs pretty cool
