A list of puns related to "Public holidays in Thailand"
Hi everyone, me and my girlfriend (both 23) are looking to spend a week in Thailand this May 2022. We are both unsure as to where is best to go (have only really looked at Bangkok so far) so if anyone has an area recommendation that would be amazing! And even better if anyone has hotel recommendations! ( Approx Β£80 per night, ideally in an area with things to do! )
Thank you very much!
In England for example the fixed date bank holidays (Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year) get postponed: eg the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays last year were on 27th and 28th December.
In Czechia on the order hand I believe this isnβt the case, and this year 5 out of the 13 public holidays will fall on a weekend.
Here's a tweet from the company's President mentioning the upcoming offering:

Also found a video regarding the upcoming offering.
The site has a paywall, so I didn't watch the video (maybe one of you in here has access and can share more details), but the snippet below mentions that the St. Regis in Aspen, Colorado has already been tokenized on Tezos.
Specifically, his company "utilized the Tezos blockchain to tokenize the St. Regis Aspen Resort and partnered with tZERO, a distributed ledger platform and subsidiary of Overstock, to enable the trading of the AspenDigital token." There appears to be an affiliated website here.
Not sure if the new tokenized offering launching on Sep. 21 is for the St. Regis in Aspen or for other real estate assets. Regardless, should be fun to watch :)
Love seeing tokenized real estate become a reality on Tezos.
Tezos is slowly taking over the STO market (Security token offering)
A new tweet by Cointelegraph consulting illustrates the big growth in Tezos based STOΒ΄s. Ethereum is the biggest STO platform, but Tezos is coming closer every year, being the 2nd biggest by a very large margin. Real estate in the hundreds of millions have already been tokenized on Tezos, with at least $4 Billion announced. More than 20 companies have plans to launch STOΒ΄s using the Tezos blockchain as the underlying infrastructure. Tezos has some of the most sophistacted smart contracts and token standards, like the NYX standard, which is a set of smart contracts that are regulatory approven in many countries.

Elevated Returns have recently gotten the green light from the SEC in Thailand to launch STOΒ΄s, and will build an STO exchange on top of Tezos. They plan to tokenize $1 Billion worth of real estate in the coming years. The biggest investment bank in South America, BTG Pactual have similar plans. Societe Generale are also tokenizing on Tezos. BNP Paribas, the biggest bank in France are rumored to have similar plans,

As a non-boring American, I sincerely wish the day after Halloween was a day off. As it is, we have to wait for it to fall on a Friday or a Saturday for us to enjoy Halloween to its full potential.
It would make the observant Catholics happy, as the day after is November 1st.
The rest of us could sleep it off!
What about in your country?
TL;DR: last evening of a fantastic holiday under the Test and Go scheme travelling all around Thailand for a week from London - very glad we persevered with the trip but was admittedly very stressful at times. Only go if you are willing to take the risk!
I had been trawling this Reddit thread in the months running up to my trip (1-11 January 2022) and despairing at the pessimism/panic here, so I thought I would share my positive experience in case it would help anyone!
Our (very packed) itinerary: Bangkok 1 night, Chiang Mai 2 nights, Pai 2 nights, Pattaya 2 nights, Bangkok 1 night.
DEPARTURE: we had applied for Thailand Passes and gotten approval way back in November 2021 so we were still allowed to enter under the Test and Go scheme. We left London on 1 Jan, transit in Singapore. I travelled in a group of 4 friends. The run up to arrival is by far the most stressful part because we were all aware of the consequences if one of us tested positive on arrival. We were so nervous that we took out several insurance policies - as well as AXA Sawadee, I took out Barclays Travel Pack and my friend took out HSBC insurance (both cover for asymptomatic cases, red list changes etc) We did our pre flight PCRs using Collinson test centre in St Pancras since this is Singapore Airlines approved. In the run up to our flight we limited social contact to family only, but we were not overly strict with this since we still wanted to enjoy Christmas. Our pre flight test came back clear and we used N95 masks on our flights. We also sanitised our hands like crazy. Unfortunately there are still inconsiderate people on flights who donβt wear masks correctly - there was actually someone who took OFF his mask to cough?!
ARRIVAL: finally we arrived in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. We had to fill in a pink immigration slip on arrival - YOU MUST KEEP THIS FOR YOUR DAY 5-7 TEST. It was lucky that we did because this wasnβt made clear to us at the time. The process of clearing immigration was very straightforward and quick- they only checked Thailand Pass QR code, proof of vaccination and pre flight PCR test. We had print outs for everything (including insurance and hotel reservation) which definitely helped. We bought SIM cards at the airport with unlimited data and some calling credit for a very cheap price- this is definitely worth getting. In hindsight maybe more calling credit would be useful (see General note further down)
TEST AND GO: we booked one night Test and Go package with the

Prithvi Jayanti is celebrated on the occasion of founder of modern Nepal's King Prithvi Narayan Shah's birthday!!
I'm a kindergarten teacher at a public school. I've taught in 4 different states and this school is what I would consider Christmas crazy. The Christmas crafts are so intense they asked parent for donations, there's a field trip to a place to ride a Christmas train and meet Santa, and there is a breakfast with Santa.
My family celebrates Hanukkah, so for social studies I planned a holiday around the world unit and had a few very secular hanukkah activities. I got an e mail today asking me to tone down Hanukkah. The principal's exact words were maybe just pick one. I'm not one to complain or be offended, but 3 Hanukkah activities seems quite minimal in comparison to the Christmas festivities. I'm not quite sure how to respond. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi everyone! I have a small question regarding public holidays in Germany. I live in Bavaria but work remotely for a company in another federal state. This week, Bavaria has a public holiday on January 6 but my employer's state does not. There is no mention in my contract of anything regarding this (of course my contract also does not mention anything regarding remote work, just my address and the company address in the intro part)
My question is: normally, which public holidays are taken as base? I would love to have holidays at the same time as my SO but somehow I feel like the law might not be on my side on this :(
Sidenote: I am aware now that this was something that I should have thought before signing a contract, but the urgency of getting a job prevailed on that occasion and I did not ask all the questions I should have.
With Orthodox Christmas coming up, I wanted to ask you guys; What are the rules of public holidays in Ukraine?
Are shops closed? Reduced opening hours?
Any specific Do's or Don'ts a foreigner should know about?
Thanks
