A list of puns related to "Pruneyard Shopping Center v. Robins"
A few weeks ago Apple, Facebook and Youtube decided to kick out the tin-foiler but Twitter was very hesitant to do that led me to theorize it was fearful of accused as being complicit in jeopardizing the freedom of speech in a way or two.
Many of us would like to believe that private entities has the right to regulate our contents as it wanted to but I regret that it's not always the case. In fact Pruneyard Shopping Center v. Robins has ruled that individuals can peacefully express their right to free speech in public corners of private areas like shopping malls still I'll leave the exact definition of "peaceful" open at this time although by the way I heard that during the beginning and the boom of phone age AT&T has the obligation to be as neutral as possible with respect to the flow of information way before the advent of social media.
In fact even the Supreme Court has further acknowledged the role of internet/social media as a public square in one of their rulings regarding sex offender's access to FB and likewise. Yeah it's personally distasteful but this is America and it always goes both ways.
So Twitter was aware of the effects of joining others to permanently ban Alex Jones & the chances of triggering a Streisand effect and hence decided to hand out a week-ban and waited out for the moment.
It's seem very surprising when Twitter abruptly post a warning notice regarding the ban of users who evaded their suspension when they in fact have been suspending alts of those banned users especially ISIS rats. I think this has more or less to do with a veiled warning against Alex Jones by its timing which he unfortunately failed to heed.
Finally due to his mistakes and the enormous pressure including that of a female celebrity who asked her fans to block Fortune 500 as long as Jones stay on the site, Twitter joined in banning him for good. Personally I would womp-womp Jones' misfortune but this has the slippery slope that sabotages the free speech atmosphere and turn it into inverted totalitarian state in the age of the internet. Remember "you give in an inch, they'll ask for a mile"?
Are these nutters going to heed your nice warnings to quit the internet, go out and use their micropho
... keep reading on reddit β‘I would like a layman's version of the wording in the Pruneyard Shopping Center V. Robins decision. It is used often in my field of work as a security officer in a shopping center on private property and I hate protestors, petitioners, panhandlers, street vendors, etc not understand the law and violating this property's rights. My best understanding of the decision is that anyone wishing to exercise their right of "free speech" must ask permission of the private property's owner (which most do not) in order to do so. The Pruneyard decision basically over rides their right to free speech because they could be going against the views of the property owner OR offend visitors to the property. The local police in my area have not been willing to understand and enforce this decision so I am looking to my fellow redditors for some advice and any upper hand I can get on those pesky paid petitioners who think they are above the law. Also what amendment or right is being violated against the property when the solicitors do this? Thanks again for any help I get!!

I had parked at the very end of the lot, as usual to avoid door dings fender benders. So it caught my attention when someone else had chosen to park adjacent to me. I normally take my time getting in and out of places, so I sat there for a good 30 minutes before heading in to the store.
While shopping, I notice that a young lady and I kept crossing paths in the aisles. She would make direct eye contact, and I would respond with a smile and continue on my way.
When I was ready to check out, she was right before me in the line, but when another line opened up, I again notice her eyes follow me as I move to the other checkout.
After paying for my things and go to return the cart, there she is again in front of me. This time she stops me before I get to the door and in a rather soft and nervous voice asks "Is it alright if I walk out with you please?".
I instantly knew something was wrong. She seemed scared. I took a quick look out the door and saw a man standing there with another fellow as if he were waiting for someone to exit.
I told her "Sure. Of course", asked her where her car was, and put myself between her and the guy waiting outside the door. He was definitely waiting for her, and seemed to mumble sighs of frustration when he saw that someone else was accompanying her and she was not alone.
Turns out this guy had been following her through the shopping center, and the car that had parked next to me at the end lot was her. She was trying to stay near someone she thought would help her, and was gathering the courage to ask for an escort safely back to her vehicle.
When I looked back at the guy she was dodging, he had ran behind the store where the loading docks are, and I made sure he left without following her again.
For fuck sake. When a woman says she's not interested, that means BACK OFF. I felt sorry for her, but glad she was smart enough to push through being timid and actually ask for help.
Edit: As a few others have advised, while this particular incident was not the case, there's apparently a real risk of female decoys used in human trafficking. Luckily it was daylight and there were other people peppered around us in plain view. This girl seemed to have difficulties with being vocal and firm, which may be why he persisted. Best to have staff call for security if you feel the situation poses danger. And thank YOU for being a friend.
Do people recognize your card often?
Heard that workers came to work unaware that it was closed down and were told to go home. According to them it had to do with the property owners and not due to lack of business. So the only Shari's in Pierce County is on S. 72nd St. & S. Hosmer St. and the other is at the Hwy 512 and Canyon Rd interchange.
Hello Raleigh Reddit,
I just want to let yβall know that there was a car theft at the Brier Creek shopping center. Some guy watched this little old woman christmas shop throughout the entire shopping center, and when she was outside of Home Goods he ran up and stole her car keys out of her pocket and her phone, ran to her car, and drove offβ¦..
(I was literally there as it was happening and thought it was fake at first because it was just like ???? and this little old woman was just sobbing and screaming in the parking lot so I was like huh maybe this is legit ππ)
And people were trying to comfort her and say βHe wonβt get far!!β and she was just sobbing saying she just got a full tank of gas.
Our boys in blue came and did what Raleigh PD normally does which was nothing π
Idk if this will get taken down but BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. mfs are stealing car keys out of pockets around hereβ¦. Happy Holidays though ππππ
EDIT: why would I lie about thisβ¦ I only posted it on reddit because I couldnβt find the accident report anywhere online. I searched Brier Creek on different apps and scanners and nothing. So maybe it was fake! but also there was a 70 year old woman sobbing and screaming that she had no way of getting home, and there were two police cars. The blotter I used said the Brier Creek area at the same time but didnβt specify what crime. Iβm sorry I wanted to let the community know of possible horseshit happening around here.
And speaking of community, what tf kind of community is this that we canβt talk about our true feelings of the police without grown adults crying in the comments that itβs not fair π (iβm using emojis again so all the old people in the comments crying that iβm using them can have a heart attack already, how dare she use hieroglyphics I cannot understand her π)
The police are supposed to protect and serve our community. But that same community will jump down your throat for talking ill of their heroes!!
If grown adults cannot talk about how shitty the police are without yβall crying in the comments like they personally insulted your entire family tree, then what good is a community?

I have recently seen violinist in 3 different shopping centers playing for money. Normally I wouldnβt ask about this, but the three different gentlemen that I have seen all have similarly looking written signs with almost the same wording. They play the violin along with music playing-sorry I donβt know the proper term for it. Iβm just wondering if they are part of some group or a music school or something. I have seen them at 2 different target shopping center and a shopping center in Wake Forest.
This is going to sound weird, like I'm observing something from the outside. I guess I'm in denial? (Please understand that I honestly feel fine, and even defiant in my houselessness) I am mostly disturbed that its not just me out here and that every day there are a couple more cars parked with people living in them.
I also feel disturbed that I didn't realize this was happening in shopping center lots around the US. Has anyone else noticed it?
Growing up, and even 4-5 years ago in this east coast USsuburb I never saw houseless people or panhandling.
But that's just one aspect. This smallish suburban city has a growing number of houseless living in their cars all over the city in parking lots. But now there are people on every intersection and cars in ER lots, shopping centers and anywhere parking overnight is allowed. Its to the point that every 2-3 days someone from a local agency delivers food in bags on the car windshields at 6:30am. Thing is, we have food. I'm not starving, I have food stamps and the store is right there. The problem is housing costs too much! Here wages are low but a 1 bedroom is $1600-$2200 easy. Unless you're partnered that's more expensive than many people can afford without paying 90% of their income in rent. They have affordable housing lists in the food bags, along with other resource lists, but for affordable housing you still need to make a certain amount that is beyond what many jobs here pay. Tonight someone --seem like just regular citizens --was driving around handing out sandwiches. I think the people whodo notice feel bad but they don't realize that we are not the homeless they are used to seeing. We are professionals with college degrees and jobs who can't afford rent anymore. (No shade to those who can't, ita just that I recognize the food as them misunderstanding the reality of the situation)
I used to be a social worker and did homeless outreach for several years. Even during my time I never saw anything quite like this --and I've seen some shit. A lot of these people seem like they have 9-5 jobs, they leave during the day and come back at night after 6pm. We all kinda have our special spots. I recognize the cars now so I can tell when someone is new. And some of these are nice newer cars. Its unreal.
I just feel like I'm getting flashbacks to every dystopian novel I ever read. And I also kinda feel like the average person is just going about their lives hoping they aren't next.
What exactly happened to us t
... keep reading on reddit β‘It seems like all of the other malls are struggling. When they close, do you think itβll just be Jordan Creek? That seems like a weak mall for an entire state of shoppers.
In coastal cities, βurbanβ shopping and outdoor malls are more popular now but the weather in Des Moines certainly doesnβt lean toward an outdoor mall and downtown DSM still hasnβt attracted many commercial brands besides West Elm.
Hello! I'm here to spread awareness about the Fake Violin players at random shopping centers.
They are NEVER actually playing. it's COMPLETELY insulting to actual musicians that actually have to busk and the scammers make more than ACTUAL Musicians do.
It can be very tempting to tip someone "playing" music for you, right? well don't. it's NOT REAL. these people CANT be profiting off of what people do for a living. they act like it's fun and games. it's not.
i didn't spend money on these ruthless villains, but my grandmother was about to. i was silent.
(for those who haven't seen these people, they are people with a phone, boombox and a fake violin playing a mix of 7 rings, all of me, and other songs.)
Once you've seen one, you've seen a mall.
