A list of puns related to "Pony Club Australia"
I'm just curious about something --
I don't know how popular Pony Clubs are in America now, but when I was growing up (uh, 20 to mumble mumble years ago), most of us teens at my barn were members of the Pine Tree Pony Club (such a clever name lol). I learned so much through them -- we had to take written tests, and we had inspection days where people actually came out and inspected our horses for cleanliness and proper tack, and they asked us questions about our horses and barn management.
I remember there were different levels you could earn, like a C-2, a C-1, then a B-2, and a B-1. I don't think we even dreamed of an A, it was so hard lol.
I don't know how other kids saw it, but I was just ecstatic to learn everything I had to know for Pony Club and would throw all my other homework aside for it! It was a fantastic program and taught me a lot about how to take good care of my horse.
Was anyone else on here in Pony Club growing up? Is anyone in one now? Do they even still exist?
I am looking at perhaps going through the certifications (D-A) of the US Pony Club instead of going to college for Equine Studies. (I asked my barn manager boss about it, and she said her degree in Equine Studies was a waste of time and taught her nothing she needed to know about running a barn, and saddled her with a bunch of debt to top it off.) She highly recommended that I go through the US Pony Club instead, and gave me one of the workbooks to look through to see if I was interested. Suffice to say, I very much am, but I wanted to know if anyone in the group has gone through this process and what it was like? What was the time commitment like, money commitment, work commitment, etc,. Thank you in advance!
