I have a younger sister who’s birthday is today(15) and I’m gonna get her her first Pokémon game. Should I get her Sword and Shield which I have and could play with her or should I get her the new Diamond and Pearl which I don’t have?
I like Sword and Shield and could play it with her but I believe that Diamond and Pearl is a better overall game.

Edit: I have decided to go with Shining Pearl. I believe it will give a more classic Pokémon experience that we all fell in love with. I will mostly get her Shield for Christmas. Thank you to everyone who commented and help with this decision!
I was saying i didnt understand why grookey was a starter as i didnt thinl there were monkeys in the uk. Then my fiance said wernt the monkeys from the uk? And my mind ran. Is it possible Orbeetle came from the beatles? Can anyone else think of these? Theres also a lot of shy turned cool evolutions which is a cool pattern. Also im loving pokemon journeys if anyone wants to chat!
For someone who hasn’t played Pokémon since Ruby.. I really wish I didn’t skip the DS games.
Anyway I want to get back into Pokémon. Which game is better for competitive/battles/ranking/long ect?

The main question is however is Sword and Shield going to get expansions where Brilliant Diamond won’t?
I never played those games and I'm thinking about giving it a try, and since I don't really enjoy playing pokémon without nuzlocke rules, I might aswell do it on my first playthrough. Are there any new rules for these games since they have new mechanics like wild area?

Since the upcoming Pokémon legends Arceus games give you something extra if you have save data from any of the previous Pokémon games on the switch I’d like to meet up with anyone with any of these games so I can do so.
Normally, I’d rent these games and pay the piper but, it seems like any stores that used to “rent” don’t do so anymore and GameFly’s turnover rate for games takes too long.
I’m more then happy to treat whoever helps me out with this.
Which game do you guys think is best? I want to get one of the for my switch and I can not decide which game is the better one to buy. I thought diamond and pearl was great when I was a kid and it would be very nostalgic to play the new version but at the same time it would be cool to play a new one. If anybody has any thoughts or ideas I would love to hear them.
