The BBC website is running a story about Pickleball: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56324048 and it reminds me that squash is fighting against so many other "racket" sports.
In this piece, the CEO of US pickleball says he hopes it will get into the Olympics and I heard myself groan, and think "Where have we heard that before?".
The piece also mentions something called Pop Tennis, which was new to me. Looks like there are a a lot of new "ball hitty" sports around.
Who has played pickleball, paddle or pop tennis?
Also, does anybody see these as serious competitors to squash, in the sense that people who might play squash would play these instead?
