A list of puns related to "Outlaws (band)"
https://www.outlaw.ltd/
The song I'm trying to find is a Marty Robbins piece, I believe it released sometime late 60's, to early 70's. The song is a cowboy ballad, Γ la Big Iron or Ballad of Bill Thaxton. It follows a sheriff/ranger type character, who duels and kills 3 outlaws throughout the song. The outlaws he kills are all brothers as far as I can recall. The end of the song sees the townfolk reacting to the actions of the ranger. As far as they are concerned, the ranger is just as guilty of murder as any other outlaw would be.
Sorry I can't provide any more, but I'll be happy to answer any questions about it!
And is the term "Ku Klucked" mean the outlaws were part of the first Klan? I should add he was born as the Civil War came to an end, so this would be in the post-war era - though details on his early story are said to be rather murky with a lack of records.
Does anyone know if Sturgill is going to be touring with his Cuttin Grass band (Sierra Hull, etc.) for the upcoming Outlaw Festival shows? Got tickets for the Raleigh show, hoping he does....
Saw the Sound and Fury show with Tyler Childers last year in Charleston, need to see some Cuttin Grass...
I wanted to start a new post for this since the discussion got lost in the Working on a Dream thread. I've always interpreted Outlaw Pete as being about Bruce. Does anyone else agree with me, or am I just over-interpreting the song?
*He was born a little baby on the Appalachian Trail
At six months old he'd done three months in jail
He robbed a bank in his diapers and little bare baby feet
All he said was "Folks my name is Outlaw Pete"
I'm Outlaw Pete, I'm Outlaw Pete, can you hear me?*
Talking about the early days, spending a lot of time in the studio, just introducing himself to the fans.
*At 25 a Mustang pony he did steal
And he rode her 'round and 'round on heaven's wheel
Father Jesus I'm an outlaw, killer and a thief
And I slow down only to sow my grief
I'm Outlaw Pete, I'm Outlaw Pete, can you hear me?*
Born to Run album (which he made at age 25) and Thunder Road
*He cut his trail of tears across the countryside
And where he went women wept and men died*
Constant touring, building huge fan base
*One night he awoke from a vision of his own death
Saddled his pony and rode out deep into the West
Married a Navajo girl and settled down on the res.
And as the snow fell he held their beautiful daughter to his chest
I'm Outlaw Pete, I'm Outlaw Pete, can you hear me?
Can you hear me? Can you hear me?*
Didn't want to do this any more, broke up the band, moved to California, married Patti, had kids
*Out of the East on an Irish stallion came bounty hunter Dan
His heart quickened and burdened by the need to get his man
He found Pete peacefully fishing by the river
Pulled his gun and got the drop
He said "Pete you think you've changed but you have not"
He cocked his pistol pulled the trigger and shouted, "Let it start"
Pete drew a knife from his boot, threw it,
And pierced Dan through the heart
Dan smiled as he lay in his own blood dying in the sun
Whispered in Pete's ear "We cannot undo these things we've done"
You're Outlaw Pete, You're Outlaw Pete, can you hear me?
Can you hear me? Can you hear me?*
Getting told to get the band back together, maybe by Little Steven ("Bruce & the E Street Band - THAT'S the legend!")
*For forty days & nights Pete rode and did not stop
Till he sat high upon an icy mountaintop
He watched a hawk on a desert updraft, slip & slide
Moved to the edge and dug his spurs deep into his pony's side*
Reunion Tour, big success, back on top
*Some say Pete and his pony

Band of Outlaws (BOO) have opened a new Piracy Museum on our foundry station for all comers.

This is an expanding collection of unique or interesting ships destroyed and captured as prizes along with examples of the distinctive Blitz Squadrons Golden Armada warships.
Access is only via VR at present, search Band of Outlaws Piracy Museum. Streamers are very welcome - there's plenty to see for a bit of unique content nobody outside of BLITZ (even most of BOO) haven't seen this collection publicly before - let us know if you post videos as we'd love to see them.
The collection is small at the moment but will increase over time as we are constantly adding to it. We want people to come, have a look at the effects PvP and battle damage have on players' creations, see a few cool wrecks and our ships and station. Please let us know what you thought and please post screenshots of items you found the most interesting on Discord or Reddit.
Anyone who wants to know about the condition of ships after combat and the sort of hauls that piracy can obtain - and the effectiveness of BOO is very welcome. Search VR Band of Outlaws Piracy Museum

Magic is outlawed or bad in this world and there's this group of children who have magic and are hiding in the woods. They live in a wooden cabin that's falling apart. The cover was pink, green, and maybe gold. The cover had a wooden door that was opened to another place. The title defiantly had the word door in it.
I only remember two of the kids' powers. One, the MC, has the ability to open doors to other places around the world but I don't think she can control it, in fact, I don't think anyone can control their powers and that's why magic is outlawed. The outlawed thing isn't explored any more than at a basic level. I think they steal things but there aren't any consequences for their action that I can remember.
There was a boy who could make things float(?) or he could make things randomly appear but I'm not sure.
So the plot is pretty muddied in my mind, but I think one day the girl decides to go into this city and meets a woman in a carriage. The carriage is black and red and the horses are black (I think) and totally evil looking but the MC gets in anyway and the woman takes her to a graveyard in a park where I think the girl goes to see her parents' grave.
The boy and the rest of the kids come charging in and the woman realizes that they must be magical in some way. She kidnaps this little girl and rides away with her despite being underpowered and outnumbered. I think she wants to drain the magic out of them.
The MC's p*ssed that the boy and the rest of the kids came in and starts this big fight. Then uses a door to go find the little girl. I think everyone else followed her through.
I think it was this weird junkyard/maze/garden and the rest of the story takes place here. There were hedges and monsters that roamed the place. I remember there were giant spider monsters and maybe zombies but I'm not 100% sure about the zombies. I think it was colorful too, or I might have just imagined it that way.
They somehow defeat the woman I think by sending her to another place and burying her. Then they lived happily ever after.
If anyone can help me that would be great!
Usually the hard rock that really moves is 1 song and the rest is soft country or non country stuff (for 5 fingers)
Soundalikes and spotify playlists are really hit and miss
Perhaps I am not using the right search term, if you could describe those 3 songs as 1 type what would it be?
thanks in advance!!

o7 to everyone involved.
Does anyone know of any literature that deals with why men find the concept of being an outlaw so appealing?
We were recently discussing pop culture with a bunch of friends and I realized that the outlaw personality, be it in books, movies, comics, manga etc appeals so much more to men than to women. I think it has to do with the desire for freedom that is best portrayed by a guy who lives only by his own rules.
Iβm curious if there is any book/article that explores this.
**EDIT 1: ** I didnβt mean to have this be a sexist question. People are not a monolith and I agree that some women love the outlaw trope and some men donβt, but it seems it leans heavily in favour of my earlier assumption, just reading through this thread.
I believe that male rebellion and female rebellion are characterised differently in literature ( MillenialPopTart2 put it well in her comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/s0hoii/why_do_men_find_outlawsronin_so_appealing/hs2s9wx/?context=3) thus the divide in most outlaws/ronin in literature being male. And maybe this speaks to why the divide exists.
EDIT 2: Also, here is a list of books mentioned:
Anyone have info on Nicholas Eames Outlaw Empire? Itβs the third book of the series after Kings of the Wyld and Bloody Rose. Supposed to release this year but I donβt know a date or premise. Any info out there?
