A list of puns related to "Opiate (EP)"
Just curious if there's video footage of it out there. I prefer the version on the EP to the "extended" version from Coachella that seems to be the definitive live performance. Both are great, I just love the sheer fury of the ending in the original.
I personally LOVE the opiate ep but itβs their least popular album on Apple Music. Γnema, Opiate, Lateralus, Undertow, 10,000 days, Fear Inoculum thatβs my ranks

Amazon no longer has this deal, but you can grab it at Walmart for the same price still. Free delivery with $35 minimum, or free pickup.
The last time this album was cheaper was back in 2015. This record averages at about $7.71. I don't own this but I've always heard that this pressing sounds thin. I'm reading that this was originally a demo recording.
How is it?
I just listened to opiate the other day and and it blew me away, its like the final stepping stone before undertow when they were still trying to find their sound particularly the title track which starts off with a more typical rock song then melds into the kind of psychedelic journey we've all grown used to. It's really good and I highly recommend listening to this and their other EPs if you haven't already

I know the opiate video was/is in the works but hear me out... What if it is a complete rehaul of the opiate EP? It would be a great way to bridge the gap between this album and the next in 5+ years. They clearly had more fleshed out ideas for Jerk-Off and Opiate and think of the live tracks on the EP, what if they were fully mixed studio tracks? I get excited thinking about this possibility, what do you think?
I was thinking about kava kava a while back and how it has a reverse tolerance. Kava kava is a drug that acts on the same receptors as benzodiazepines: GABA-A. The big difference is that it actually has a reverse tolerance when you take it, so instead of needing more of the drug for the same effects you actually need less. Of course kava is comparatively weak and a hit or miss when it comes to its "high". But it got me thinking, an opiate that is even a little bit strong with a reverse tolerance would be such a godsend. If you got addicted to it then you shouldn't experience any withdrawals because of the reverse tolerance, this opiate could also be one of the first that is effective for long term pain management, and people could use this opiate to combat and possibly skip the withdrawals of other opiates. I know this is just crazy wishful thinking, but God if you are listening, please send us an opiate with a reverse tolerance.
When I was 19 my 28 year old boyfriend (were not dating anymore) had me try roxys. I always had a drug problem but not one as severe as my opiate addiction. He knew I liked Xanax and said he had something Iβd like even better. Of course I tried it. I was hooked instantly.
Iβll never forgive him. He ruined my life. I mean I ruined my own life but if he never had me try it I wouldnβt have gotten hooked. I never wanted to try it on my own nor had access to it anyways.
I would have my family, I wouldnβt be homeless. Id prob have a good savings account, and some sort of degree or certification. A better job. A car. God Iβd be so much better off
we all know that using opiates (for the first bit) is heaven on earth and makes us predominately better people. (nicer at work, more creative blah blah blah)
but we also all know that sooner or later, for most of us, weβre just using to get well and fucking our lives up. there are obviously exceptions and this is a mass generalization.
but we all know the typical story.
so for any of you, that were addicts or had βproblematicβ use, can you use casually now?
I know that opiates are known to suppress hormones, but since I've started my opiate addiction, the size of my penis seems to have shrunk.
I have had several blood samples taken, and my hormone levels seem to be fine.
Can this really be true?
I've been on some form of opiate (mostly morphine) daily since 1998 due to a very severe neck injury that required two surgeries. It one point I was taking 180 mg a day. 10 years ago I had an inexplicable reduction in pain and was able to get down to 15 mg a day, but wasn't able to stop completely. I tried a few times, but there was still enough pain that I had to go back on it.
A few months ago I realized that my pain was surprisingly even further reduced, and for the first time I felt like getting off opiates might be possible. As of today, I've been off opiates for over two weeks (longer than ever before), and while there's still a little pain at times, for the first time in 20 years, it's not constant, and thus manageable.
I was eager to go into 2022 opiate-free if at all possible. I'm optimistic that I can stay off them this time, and I'm proud of myself for being able to quit such such an addictive medication once I no longer needed it.
So I have experienced both and was wondering what others felt?
IMHO Bupe withdrawals are less severe but last WAY longer than normal full blown opiates. And then there is the Bupe PAWS which last months.
With Oxy I would start feeling a lot lot better after 4-5 days but with Bupe the WD's would only start peaking after 7 days.
Your thoughts on this ?
Or even the best movies/tv shows to watch while on opiates, looking for any suggestions, thanks
Edit: thanks guys, seems like the most popular movie is Trainspotting with requiem for a dream in a close second. As for TV shows, dopesick seems to come in first and breaking bad in second. A lot of great suggestions here I appreciate it!
I'm pretty decent at building out drums and bass for songs and have been putting together some Tool songs lately / listening to Maynard's book (audio book) and I came to the realization that I really want to cover the entire Opiate EP. Preferably somebody who already knows the songs.
Here's Lateralus if you'd like to hear my stuff in action: https://soundcloud.com/coveringourasses/lateralus-by-tool
