A list of puns related to "Norton 360"
To all my fellow raki-slaying homies, for me at least, turning on the Norton 360 anti virus softwareβs new βGame Optimizerβ feature had the ironic effect of completely tanking my gameβs performance. Weβre talking like 5-10 FPS. Completely unplayable.
I discovered this after nearly half a day of tweaking settings (all the more frustrating for me since I have limited dedicated time to game as it is), making sure the GPU and CPU were working right, a clean install, verifying steam file integrity and βturning it off and on againβ 10+ times etc.
After a bit of Google-fu, I took a look at my anti virus (Norton 360 in this case) and lo and behold I noticed that there is a new feature there called βGame Optimizerβ and it defaults to being on. My first thought was βnaw thatβs not itβ but then read a bit about how it dedicates background processes to a single CPU thread during gaming and then I thought about how V2βs launcher settings let you select how many dedicated threads your CPU uses when you play and I thought there might be a there there.
So, I turned off the Game Optimizer and boom! Like magic, all performance was restored. This was so ironic and baffling to me that I actually contacted Norton tech support over it.
So it looks like βGame Optimizerβ itself needs a bit more optimization. And I wanted to let yβall know too in case anyone else has run into the same issue and it wrecks your efforts to stave off the End Times, or at least check out Kerillianβs new kit.
NortonLifelock has added the ability to mine Ethereum cryptocurrency directly within its Norton 360 antivirus program as a way to "protect" users from malicious mining software.
This new mining feature is called 'Norton Crypto' and will be rolling out tomorrow to Norton 360 users enrolled in Norton's early adopter program.
When Norton Crypto is enabled, the software will use the device's graphics card (GPU) to mine for Ethereum, which will then be transferred into a Norton wallet hosted in the cloud.
Norton Crypto feature mining for Ethereum It is not clear if every device running Norton Crypto is mining independently or as part of a pool of users for a greater chance of earning rewards of Ethereum.
As the difficulty of mining Ethereum by yourself is very high, Norton users will likely be pooled together for greater chances of mining a block. If Norton is operating a pool for this new feature, they may take a small fee of all mined Ethereum as is common among pool operators, making this new feature a revenue generator for the company.
As cryptocurrency miners and related software are commonly flagged by antivirus software, Norton says that this feature allows users to mine Ethereum without sacrificing their security.
"As the crypto economy continues to become a more important part of our customersβ lives, we want to empower them to mine cryptocurrency with Norton, a brand they trust," said Vincent Pilette, CEO of NortonLifeLock. "Norton Crypto is yet another innovative example of how we are expanding our Cyber Safety platform to protect our customersβ ever-evolving digital lives."
However, Norton 360 users who enable this feature to mine Ethereum may be in for a surprise during the tax season.
In the USA, mined cryptocurrency is considered by the IRS as a taxable event and must be reported on tax returns as income.
BleepingComputer has contacted NortonLifelock with questions related to how the mining will work but has not heard back at this time.

anyone know if the email for my swagbucks have to be the same email i use to create norton 360 for gamers offeron revenue universe?
Will deleting the folder that holds my Norton 360 backup files (almost 400 GB!) also delete the original files it backed up? The way I see it, they should just be copies, not like Iβm deleting the actual file, right? Iβm using a Dell Inspiron desktop with Windows 10, and I canβt even open any of these cryptic-titled files, therefore I have no idea what is what, even if I wanted to restore something. Basically, Iβm asking will I lose everything on my computer (all the original files that I still use) if I delete this massive folder, or will it just delete the backups (which I would hope are just copies)? I have no room on my computer for this anymore
Has anybody else had these issues? It seems like a really good MM, but it didnβt credit for me, so iβd like to know if it did for anybody else. Iβm currently going to contact support.
I can't seem to find any modern tutorials. I just purchased it through a deal and the main selling factor for me was the VPN. How do I activate it to change my location?
I bought this for 5 devices and I have 1 extra. Would prefer to give to a parent but anyone in need will do.
Edit. Given out already. Thank you all
