A list of puns related to "Norm Lewis"
Okay Iβve spent the last five days looking for it again since watching, it may have been suddenly removed (like norm) as that happens with a lot of unlicensed Howard Stern clips but basically the gist of it was, Comedian Richard Lewis was describing a cancer scare he had with his doctor where he was under the impression he may have had cancer. He told Howard that before he was actually diagnosed as being completely healthy he went up onto the stage the same week and told his audience that he had cancer, he then says it didnβt matter what he said after telling them he was ill, that the audience laughed whole heartedly at everything he said. I quote βI could have scratched my nose and they were eating it upβ because he said he had cancer and then said βit was the greatest show I ever hadβ. It struck me as a little haunting how close it was to what Lori Jo had said about Norm not wanting this exact thing to happen to him with his audience.... maybe norm saw how excited Richard got with this premise...almost like an exact response to what Richard Lewis said
βHe was most proud of his comedy. He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him. Norm was a pure comic.β
I love the 25th edition of the phantom of the opera, I think Ramin is phenomenal, but when I heard Norm Lewis's version I just fell in love with his phantom. Is the 25th one the only one to ever be recorded professionally? Or is there also an official recoding for Norm's phantom?
I absolutely fell in love with his rendition of Music of the Night on YouTube, but I can't find the full song (much less any of the others, which I'd also like to hear his versions of) anywhere. I'd be happy to purchase it if I could just find it somewhere, but I just can't seem to track it down. Is there any kind of soundtrack of his POTO performance? I'd think there must be, but I'm coming up blank.
Does anyone have a copy of this or link? Thank you so much!
Can somebody please share this audio with me. Have lots to trade. P/M me :)
Iβve listened to both of these Javertβs. Theyβre both amazing, but which one is better in your opinion?
I recently found out that Norm Lewis was in Miss Saigon in 1995 and sang Bui Doi. I love both Norm and Bui Doi, and I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a video of this and know where it is online? I searched a little and couldn't find it, but maybe I'm using the wrong keywords or something.
http://www.playbill.com/article/jessie-mueller-to-star-opposite-norm-lewis-in-the-music-man-in-washington-dc
Jessie Mueller is set to play Marian Paroo in The Music Man at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The production, presented as part of the Broadway Center Stage series, will run February 6β10, 2019, in the Eisenhower Theater.
As previously reported, Tony nominee Norm Lewis is set to take on the title role of Harold Hill. Marc Bruni, will direct the production, which will also feature choreography by Chris Bailey and music direction by James Moore.
I came across a shaky-cam full-length show of Norm Lewis's first performance of POTO on YouTube the other day and it doubled down my desire to see a better quality full version of one of his shows, like the clips of him and Sierra on YouTube....does anyone know if that full-length film exists anywhere or are those two songs with Sierra and Norm (Music of the Night and the title song) the only pro-filmed clips we have? :/
If anyone else watched Jesus Christ Superstar live in concert a few days ago, I'm sure you can agree that Norm Lewis was fantastic as Caiaphas. I'd believed he was "just" a dark baritone for a while, but after seeing his performance in the concert, is it possible he's a true bass? I've often heard that the distinction between baritones and basses was that baritones would be able to sing the lower harmonies in most shows but probably would not be able to sing Caiapas' part well.
If not a bass, then what exactly distinguishes a baritone from a bass in theatre? Examples of the two would be really appreciated.
Again I submitted a post yesterday asking about Gilbert Gottfried because I had won two free tickets to Caroline's. It makes me definitely want to go see him live, but not with my mother. Therefore I will ask just once more, has anyone seen Richard Lewis live and what's your opinion of him? I love him on Curb and am expecting something similar, again I know I can watch his specials but I want your thoughts.
Here's a recent Norm MacDonald: http://imgur.com/a/5sm9h
Here's Jerry Lewis: http://imgur.com/a/YW0q2
Jerry Lewis looks like he ate William Shatner, but really it was a side effect from taking prednisone.
What's Norm's excuse? Is he stinging his face with bees? Botched plastic surgery? Undisclosed medical issues?
I tend to divide Phantoms into tenors and baritones, which should be an obvious line. Michael Crawford, Peter Karrie, Dave Willets, John Cudia, etc. are in the tenor camp, while fellows like John Owen-Jones and Earl Carpenter are more in the baritone camp to me. Norm is definitely a baritone, and it unfortunately showed in Music of the Night. He choked ever so slightly on the big "BEEEE" from that number.
Other than that, his performance was excellent. I was worried that the makeup might not show as well on his darker skin, but it did. The only other issue to me, more an icebox thing, was in the Point of No Return, since Norm is Black, and the fellow playing Piangi...wasn't. One look at his hands and Christine should have known who it was. That said, everything else was excellent, particularly the Final Lair scene.
AMA, I guess?
