A list of puns related to "No More Heroes (video game)"
Here's the link of the trailer in question
It was barely talked about so I wanted to shed some light about why the trailer from The Game Awards is so good. It is far from just being a random trailer used to drum up interest. It is a great showcase of Japanese animation both in 2D and 3D animation alongside some very high-profile names that you wouldn't expect. A collaboration between great minds under the direction of Suda51, who basically laid the groundwork of what No More Heroes 3 will be.
Let's talk about the animation studios first, and why they matter. The first animation studio is Kamikaze Douga, who are known for their work on the JoJo openings in the first three seasons. They already made quite a big splash for their way of confidently making 3D animation appealing, fluid and overall very enjoyable to watch. They have done the grunt of the work in the trailer, showcasing some very interesting shots such as how the rocket is built in a timeskip section, or how different art styles are displayed between the first and second half of the trailer.
The second is Shirogumi who does very impressive CGI movies for Dragon Quest and Lupin III that just released this month. They are responsible for the CGI sequence after the fake-out title screen with Travis Touchdown doing the iconic Akira bike slide. They were also responsible for the animation of the first trailer back in June.
Last but not least, we have AC-bu, a quirky but equally impressive 2-man studio known for their eclectic style for Bob Team Epic, and also for some of their totally mesmerizing clips. You can totally see what they worked on in the trailer, with their inimitable style.
These three studios worked in tandem in order to create the trailer of No More Heroes 3, which displays a lot of cool animation techniques that are quite sophisticated. The first half of the trailer uses 3D animation redrawn on top of it to make it look like cel-shaded 2D hybrid with a lot of fluidity. The second half blends 2D animation and 3D animation in the very same frame, down to the same shading when the lighting changes! The quirky animation changes when people are transformed into pink cloud is the work of AC-Bu, who also took the time to reference characters from their previous work. This is some really great an

I've been a huge fan of Suda51 but I was disappointed about his recent games (except his remakes) because I thought it didn't have the same level of thought-provoking storyline with engrossing characters. What I like about him is that everything he does has meaning and I always find him spot-on when he tackles a particular subject.
I was very excited about this new project since he's the one directing it fully since the first No More Heroes but it didn't look so good.
Let me tell you it's everything I wanted and more, and the gameplay plays much better than it looks ! What's different is that you can't combo between the basic and heavy attack, but the skill ceiling is very high with the excellent use of skill chips (28 of them !) that are varied and allows even for combos to happen. For example you can have a skill that throws smoke bombs in a cross line, and then you can put them on fire with your thunder skill to make them explode. The difficulty levels allows for a truly challenging game where you really have to time your attacks. Something I liked is that you really have to commit to some attacks, for example throwing heavy attacks means you'll be stuck in a long animation where you can get clobbered. Encounter design is good too, with loads of different enemies you will have to tackle at a certain order in order to fight them optimally. Boss fights are once again the highlight of this NMH game and I can't understand people saying there is no strategy, you really have to pay attention to what you are doing and they're so exhilarating with incredible music that is very different than what you can expect from similar games like Furi but that's what makes it have a real identity. The Eight Hearts boss theme is a highlight : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnl5LIgm4Bc
The story is very interesting. It's an exploration of all of Suda's work and he basically created a multiverse where No More Heroes becomes the central piece where all of his game happened. This means you will probably see the game from Suda you love in this game. But most of all, it explores all the grief of Suda as a creator when he couldn't make the games he wanted because publishers kept ruining his vision for the last decade. It joins the deep love that a creator like him has for video games with the reality of game development and higher-ups who doesn't care about creativity and only about money. Some says Suda has made 8 games that were cancelled and will never know the light of the

Because I know what base and army management games like Starcraft, Age of Empires, and Clash of Clans are like, that it makes me think about the main bad guys and their minions and lairs. That is, when the bad guy gathers a slew of minions, he'd divide them into home base support staff and front line soldiers, with a couple of high-ranking officers -- who would eventually become bosses for the end of each level -- taking care of each set of minions. The home base minions would take care of the villain's lair while playing a support role for the front line minions, from healing and supplying them, to providing intel from mission control. The front line minions, meanwhile, are the ones invading the good guys' territory, and thus rely on the home base support minions to keep them alive with healing, supplies, and intel.
For example, Bowser, Ganon, Dr. Eggman, and Dr. Wily? Makes you wonder what might happen if they got their own games (outside of Bowser's Inside Story), and they were RTS's about base, resource, and army management in a campaign to take over the world, instead of just you controlling Mario, Link, Sonic, and Mega Man and soloing the living s*** out of those armies and bases. Or Hell, as I'd usually say a million times over in previous threads, if Sonic the Hedgehog gathered not only his official friends, but also an army of unofficial, fan-made Sonic OC's, like the Resistance in Sonic Forces, and united them all under his leadership in an epic scale war to overthrow Dr. Eggman and his similarly massive robot army. We'd be having half of those cute-yet-edgy looking cartoon animals playing a support role at an HQ or home base, and the other half fighting on the battlefield to retake territory from Eggman, like Eggman's robot army itself.
In other words, despite this whole "main bad guy has no friends" BS, there are so much interesting group dynamics between the main villain and his minions, and how half of them take care of the villain's lair and play a support role, while the other half fight on the battlefield taking territory from the good guys.
His taunts would be some next level stuff.
Really great game. :)

When you activate a Terminal (H:CEA & H2) on Xbox, it takes you out of the game and into the App Store to download an app. Itβs a super jarring process and if Iβm playing co-op with a friend I usually advise them to not bother with the terminals because itβs so jarring.
Thankfully, if youβre on PC it just plays the video right away! No navigating to a separate app.
Thanks 343!
Hey people,
Just something that's been on my mind, man we do not need any more stun heroes. Here's what I mean by that.
When the game launched, we had 2 heroes with CC stuns, Hog (Tank) and McCree (DPS). While I think that McCree requires a ton of skill with aim to use effectively, It can't be denied that anyone can Flash + Right Click. I'm not complaining about this, it can be avoided with positioning, so lets move on. Same with Hog, in the Beta up to his nerf, he was a little crazy, and a staple in every team comp for his ability to nail down and secure kills, now he's a lot more skill based, but i'm still gonna argue it still isn't that difficult to one-shot, all it did was, quite literally, add an extra step to the process. All you have to do now is walk forward a tiny bit after the hook and assuming there is no interference from any other hero, you're probably gonna one-shot them.
Then we got Doomfist, who has a soft CC stun. It's not particularly that great since its really only there to prevent the Hero affected from moving whilst they are sent flying backwards, and it doesn't really work like any other Stun mechanic, what IS annoying about Doomfist is how he can just move you around so much.
Then we got Brigette, and personally, I've been having a blast with her, she's already one of my most played heroes, and I have almost 600 hours in the game. I know its been said to death, but DAMN her bash is kinda dumb. I will admit that originally I thought she was a lot more OP then I do now, but I'm still of the opinion that her Bash needs a nerf, and recently, it got one, but in my opinion, she got off easy. But I'm not here to talk about balancing, I'm here to talk about this.
If we had One more tank with a Stun, and one more healer with a stun, you could make an entire 2-2-2 team comp out of only stun based heroes, this isn't including the possibility of a 3 DPS comp. Now let me clarify, by Stun, I don't mean things like Lucio's boop, or Orisa's Halt. I mean the things I have mentioned above. I have no problem with CC like Halt because if you die via the environment to it, its your fault for being out of position anyway and not paying enough attention.
The point I'm making is that I feel CC Stuns require a significantly lower skill ceiling to use. Maybe I've just been shield bashed one too many times, but the thought of playing against an entire team of Heroes with CC Stuns is just a nightmare.
Allow me to end with a strictly neutral comment,

Personally I would love to see some of the following to be made evil from a Sybiote infections;
The Hulk, Hawk Eye, Galactus, Black Panther (for the comical idea of what his costume change would be), Task Master, Storm, and Mr. Fantastic.
And some DC characters though none of these may ever happen.-
Batman, Doomsday, Wonder Woman, and The Question.
Being "Canon" to the weaknesses of Sybiote, it wouldn't be able to effect heroes based on stone (like The Thing), metal (like Colossus), sound (like The Canary), or fire (like The Human Torch), as it can only effect organic matter and its weakness is fire and sound.
Anyone agree or am I alone in this idea?

This is going to be a long rant of a post so I apologize in advance.
Does anyone else feel like they've been left without a role model from the men in their life? For context I'm a married 25 year old male. I have more than 12 uncles, a father, step father, both grandfathers, and a step grandfather. I played sports all throughout elementary and middle and high school. I volunteered on a farm for 6 years in my adolescence. I had a lot of close friends/girlfriends whose families I became very close with . I played guitar with a local jazz band that was made up primarily of older men. All of this is to say, I was around a lot of people who would be stereotypical candidates for good male role models.
I was recently asked: who was your role model growing up? Who taught you how to embrace your identity? The questions nearly broke me. I had absolutely no answer. With all do respect to most of the men in my life, they didn't do a very good job teaching me what being a man was supposed to be like. Some of them drank to much. Some of them were racist and or homophobic. Some of them were abusive to their spouses. Some of them didn't know how or when to be serious. Some of them were just apathetic towards everything. Some of them would get angry very easy. Almost none of them took reasonably good care of themselves physically or mentally.
I look back at where I got my preconceived ideas about what good male role models are like and they're all based on media, instead of reality. They're all characters from books or TV shows. Characters that I can't go to when I have questions or concerns or just need to talk. Maybe that's enough but it seems like a low bar to ask for someone to be par at most of these things.
The night before I was going to ask my then GF's parents for their blessing to propose (she wanted me to, no judgement please), I had no one to talk to about it. I wanted Corey Matthews (Boy Meets World), to smile at me and tell me he was proud of me.
The day an acquaintance of mine killed himself I had no clue how to console myself or my friends. I wanted Jean Valjean (Les Mis) to tell me life was full of pain and to let myself feel it because it made the good that much brighter.
The day I got accepted in graduate school I wanted Atticus Finch (To Kill A Mockingbird) to tell me I was ready for this, and I was not an impostor.
The day I signed the loans that put me thousands and thousands in debt to pay for college I wanted Arthur

That was one of my favorite mechanics in older Call Of Dutys (spec ops of campaign). Simply jumping through the levels and going as fast as possible was a lot of fun. The mechanic took practice and skill but nowadays no games allow this. Why?
