I struggle to differentiate between tilapia species. I think these are all Blue Tilapia, but not sure if some could also be Nile Tilapia or Mozambique Tilapia. All are known from this area in North Central Florida. The huge variations in color, pattern and size on the Oreochromis really throw me off reddit.com/gallery/mlo4jn

Friday the 13th fishing with the fam (sadly I caught none). Two Nile tilapias, one largemouth bass, two Mayan cichlids, and three bluegills. Seven caught by a cast net, one caught by a rod.

What are some good foods for a Nile Tilapia?
I got a Nile Tilapia from the petshop a few days ago. They usually don't sell them so they know nothing about her as she was traded in for a different fish. I've been feeding her cichlid omnivore medium pellets, but she doesn't seem to like them much, since she'll spit them out repeatedly before eating them, and when she does a lot of her food comes out of her gills as tiny bits. So far the only thing she's eaten happily is all my floating plants... So I've been moving some duckweed (It was a different kind of floaters she ate to begin with) from a different tank into her tank to encourage her to eat.
