A list of puns related to "Nationals (Glee)"
Because they bloody deserved to. The S4 sectionals performance was outstanding - I get that they were on drugs but come on, we know they could pull that off any day of the week.
Also S3 regionals was insane, I thought Glad You Came was up there, if not better than the ND set.
So the show constantly portrays rachel berry as βthe unpopular jewish girl that gets bullied etc etcβ
However she wad extremely lucky and got what she wanted.
She got finn the MOST popular guy in high school desperate for her.
She got to be with the schools #1 bad boy and also with the rival schools #1 vocalist.
She got to be prom queen EVEN when that wasnβt necessarily on her mind.
She got to be accepted into nyada despite everything that happened.
When she was in nyada she got one of the top guys there who was shredded (even the teacher wanted to be with him)
Not to mention she got like every solo and won nationals.
Yeah she got a few slushies in the face but thats it.
She is constantly playing the victim when really shes super manipulative.
maybe this isnβt necessarily a loophole but something you noticed that didnβt add up.
the biggest thing for me is with celebrities on the show. For example, when they talk about britney spears itβs literally britney spears as herself, same with barbara.
with that being the basis (that all singers are who they are) it bothers the crap out of me that they perform Let it Go and also a song from Demi Lovato. itβs a small detail but it drives me mad.
another thing is when Finn mentions Gwyneth Paltrow naming her child Apple, then Gwyneth playing Holly Holiday.
I love Gleeβs covers, but their season two original songs werenβt the best. They were good, but they messed up singing original songs at Nationals. No one in the audience knows the lyrics, so they canβt sing along or relate, and they shouldβve brought dance moves from Mike and Brittany from Valerie, because they were really impressive! I donβt remember if thereβs any original songs after season two, but I just finished rewatching season two and I forgot they did original songs at all! So, does anyone prefer/listen to Glee original songs?
Edit: by original songs I mean the ones the Glee club wrote, not the artists they covered!
It stopped being about the underdog- The whole school celebrated when they won Nationals, with ND suddenly becoming cool at the start of S1. Rachel got into the most prestigious arts school after begging and stalking, then got the lead in a top musical with no experience at aged 18/19. Blaine got into NYADA easily. The less popular characters got nominated for Prom court.
It got too big- massive production numbers and fantasy sequences for a supposedly broke Glee club. It stopped being about a smalltown Ohio glee club and became what it swore it wasnβt.
Focus on certain characters- You know who I mean
Terrible Characterisation- Blaine went from level-headed to clingy. Rachel went from the underdog to getting everything and being a huge diva. Sam went from sweet to a total dumbass. Brittany became clinically stupid. Kitty became a Rachel Berry stan suddenly in S6. Donβt even get me started on whatever they were doing with Quinn.
Too focussed on relationship drama- It was all about relationships, 99% of which involved cheating one way or the other.
Half Assed Storylines- Mercedes let Quinn live with her then they barely spoke again. Marleyβs eating disorder magically disappeared. Blaine and Kurt married after barely being back together. Emmaβs OCD was not taken seriously. Beiste suddenly presented as trans, contrasting with previous characterisation. I could go on.
Wavering Friendships- Sometimes I wondered if they were actually friends. The UHT just seemed to be a clique for cheerleaders. Quinn and Rachel seemed to be friends but I still think that was forced. Tina and Mercedes were no longer besties, whilst Kurt left Mercedes for Rachel. Why not a small group with all of them?
Listen - I get the Brady hate if youβre a strident homer of any other team. Odds are he has embarrassingly dominated your team over his reign of the NFL. BUT many of the talking heads (we all know the usual suspects) in the major sports media outlets are taking an unusual amount of satisfaction in cherry picking numbers and decreeing that Brady now sucks.
This is one of the greatest and most storied athletes in American sports history and to have the golden years of his career tarnished and slandered the way he has been this year is an embarrassment to sports media. Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter or even Peyton Manning never got this kind of heat at the tail end of their careers and their decline was arguably MUCH sharper than what 42 year old Tom Brady is doing this year.
I am by no means saying they shouldnβt honestly critique Bradyβs play or that he isnβt deserving of a lot of the criticism. What bugs me is the air of celebration and joy that many pundits are taking when discussing Tomβs play this year.
Cherish the fact that we can still watch the greatest suit up on Sundays because once heβs gone it will usher in an entirely new era in the NFL. Critique him honestly, but donβt be the guy celebrating the end of a career any fan of football should feel privileged to still witness.
It is a comedy.
We spent like 13 hours in a row on this lol

Letβs Have A Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time: Songs donβt go together at all and it doesnβt sound good
Deck the Rooftop: Boring (Atheist and Muslim and I donβt like Christmas music) - only enjoyable part to me is Tina
Boys/Boyfriend: Just isnβt special idk
Centerfold/Hot In Here: Two songs that are just okay and are smushed together. Ryder has a weird part
Donβt Stand So Close to Me/Young Girl: Will sounds great but the songs are too creepy to enjoy too much
The way you look tonight/ You are never fully dressed: Donβt like any of their vocals
Bamboleo/Hero: Cute scene because heβs singing to Mercedes, but itβs a weak mashup. His Spanish is okay and he sounds good
You and I: Will and Shelby sound good but the genre doesnβt fit their voices that well
Hair/Crazy in love: Really good singing but the songs wouldβve sounded way better on their own
Old Time Rock and Roll/Danger Zone: Songs did not blend well, but the vocals were really good
Rio/ Hungry like the wolf: Very fun and a nice harmony
In the name of love/ Free your mind: It sounds good but itβs not the best
The bitch is back/ Dress you up: Very good vocals but awkward together
Bye Bye Bye/ Want it that Way: Mashup is just okay. One of the best Finn performances though
Borderline/Open Your Heart: Cute.
Americano/ Dance Again: Everything is good but not great. The choreography is the best part.
I still Believe/ Super Bass: The songs are good but do not go together. Vocals are good though
Halo/ Walking on Sunshine: Very fun and energetic, but knocked points because I can tell theyβre in pain lol
Mr Roboto/ Counting Stars: Donβt like the songs together. Like Skylar's voice. Dislike music and songs on their own
I love New York/ New York, New York: Very nice energy from every performer and it displayed a lot of peopleβs voices
You learn/ You got a friend: Naya is the best in this song. Itβs good but I much prefer You Learn
Will You Still Love me Tomorrow/ Head Over Feet: A

- Naya sounded so good in Trouty Mouth and Cold Hearted like those styles are her thing imo
- Isn't a thought but more like a quick q - which version of Toucha do you prefer more: Jayma Mays audition or Emma's version
- I'm Still Standing sounds really good and I really like it, does anyone else
- Saturday Night Glee-ver is like one of my favs music-wise like idk maybe it's because that's all music my grandpa likes and so it felt very cozy to me
- Dianna has such a lovely voice when she's singing the right things - I feel the same with Chris. They both have voices that sound better singing lower
- Blow Me One Last Kiss is from my recollection, one of the most equally distributed duets on the show. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it was as equal as possible in terms of who got which lines and sang which parts
- I've Gotta Be Me is really cute and I really like it
- Season 6 music is just beautiful and the Jagged Little Tapestry episode is EVERYTHING in terms of music
- Marry You is cute but makes no sense like why tf did Carole and Burt have their wedding party be random teenagers
- You are Woman, I am Man is lyrically an oof song, but vocally very very pleasing and I love that scene where she has the wig on and the other guy can tell and so he smirks at her - like top tier
- Diva is my JAM and Tina, Brittany, and Unique sound so good
- River Deep, Mountain High should've won. Like I know this is a popular opinion but they were powerhouses (sidenote, I feel like their voices don't blend like as good as others, but in this competition they were clearly the best)
- Wide Awake is heavily underrated, it's one of my favorite performances. Katy vs Gaga is one of my fav episodes with season 4 newbies but the way Marley was treated is fenhfrej
- Loser Like Me sucks but Season 5 version is *chef's kiss*
- Am I the only one who likes Uninvited? I think Lea sounds great on rock and alternative
- The mash ups on this show were exquisite - Moves Like Jagger/Jumpin Jack Flash is great and Crazy/U Drive Me Crazy is so gooooooooood
- I can't hate Samchel because they gave us Thousand Miles. I actually liked their relationship in a sense. It was short and sweet and I think it was a great rebound relationship for both of them - giving them someone else they were safe with and

- Guidance counselor having the door open and clear walls during a meeting is wildly wrong haha
- How in the world did they let the Rachel not having a gag reflex through on national air!
- The Unholy Trinity audition still a banger
Episode title: Amusement Perks
Following a win at regionals, Will and Emma offer to treat the Glee Club to a day out at Lima's seasonal amusement park in an attempt to boost the Club's spirits about facing their competition.
After announcing this to the class, everyone expresses their thoughts on the idea. For the most part, everyone is pretty excited. However, Rachel thinks they should be spending every waking moment working on their set list for nationals. A quick nudge to his shoulder has Finn swiftly agreeing with her, despite his obvious excitement seconds ago. Santana tells Rachel to quit making excuses, and jokes that Rachel is probably βtoo shortβ to go on most of the rides anyway. Well, except perhaps for the "Berry-go-round" or the "High Horses", since she spends so much time on one already.
Will hushes her and tries to gage the rest of the class' thoughts. Artie is hesitant, as he has had bad experiences at amusement parks in the past. He admits that his friends once ditched him when he was refused entry to a certain ride to go off by themselves. This results in the Glee Club vowing to make the trip a pleasant one for Artie.
Despite talking a big game, Santana is actually terrified of rides. She pretends to be bored at first, but Brittany sees through this façade and confronts her about it when they are alone. Brittany manages to persuade her to go on a rollercoaster with her with a simple kiss, because we all know Santana is whipped like cream for Britt. Afterwards, Santana makes it her goal to win Brittany a stuffed unicorn. At a concession stand, she leans in and gives Brittany a kiss, then continues on playing the game. A homophobic asshole standing nearby makes a comment, which gets the attention of Quinn. This is followed by a montage of the Unholy Trinity singing a mash-up of 'You Should See Me In A Crown' - Billie Eilish & 'Carousel' - Melanie Martinez. (I looked this up afterwards and strangely enough, this mash-up actually exists!! WTH? You can search it on Youtube).
Rachel decides that singing on a rollercoaster could be an excellent way to strengthen her vocal cords (lol). Meanwhile, Finn, whose sitting next to her, looks like he could throw up. Rachel keeps fussing about how the ND should be practicing as they have serious competition, and that she and Finn, as leaders of the NDs need to be on top at all times (Santana mutters "wanky") as they are responsible. This leads to Finn addressing Rachel's constant need to be p

honourable mentions are Britney/Brittany, Furt, The Quarterback, and The Role You Were Born to Play
Eurovision themed episode- Ok, I realize the average American still doesn't know Eurovision, but this would've been AMAZING for Glee, come on- ridiculous theatrics and costumes, over the top dance routines, and showcase songs- Lena's "Satellite," Loreen's "Euphoria," Abba's "Waterloo" and maybe some really insane ones for good measure like "Wolves of the Sea" (a pirate song) or Jedward's "Lipstick Girl."
US history songs themed episode- This could've been tied in to a history class, and there's so many good possibilities here, like songs from Schoolhouse Rock: America, Sublime's April 29 1992 (LA Riots), Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock," the musical 1776, Weezer "The British are Coming" and of course Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire."
**2003-**This is totally gratuitous, but 2003 had so many hit songs that would've been perfection for Glee: Electric Six "Danger! High Voltage," White Stripes "Seven Nation Army," Nelly "Shake Ya Tailfeather," something from Justin Timberlake from that year, No Doubt "Underneath it All"...
Media and news songs- Something about the reporting on New Directions would be the tying theme, with songs from "Newsies," Lady Gaga "Paparazzi," Miley Cyrus "Fly on the Wall," Van Morrison "Why Must I Always Explain," David Bowie "The Man Who Sold the World."
Just saying, it's some really good comedic craftsmanship! The way the misdirection escalates, the way the confusion and frustration and bewilderment are piled up and fanned into a swirling mess, and then, when your attention is completely focused in a certain direction, while your mind is spinning its wheels trying to find sense in the nonsensical - "ANY QUEEEESTIOOOOOONS?!"
There was a promise.
The promise was kept.
The Hell was scared out of them.
This is freaking stage magic, is what it is. It's a routine worthy of Abbot and Costello. It's Perfection.
"Who's David S. Pumpkins?" "WHAT'RE YOU ASKING ME FOR?"
