A list of puns related to "Namor"
A lot has been going on in the X-Books since 2019.
Mutants have become immortal. Whenever they die, a backup of their minds is uploaded into a clone of their bodies. It's so casual that some mutants have developed the hobby to die.
They have created portals throughout Earth that are only accessible to mutants and take them to Krakoa, their Utopian-Insland nation.
Krakoa has become an extremely important country because they provide the world with miracle drugs that add 5 years to the life expectancy of those who take it and are able to cure most diseases.
All of this is already very impressive, but within the last week, they did 2 more things.
Terraformed Mars in under an hour and established yet another Utopian society there.
Created a metal called "mysterium", a metal as strong as adamantium that doesn't conduct or retain heat or radiation. Spaceships made with a thin layer of it can fly through stars easily.
Immortality, miracle drugs, miracle metals, Utopias, it's mind-blowing. But the X-Books continuously asks us to believe that none of those things are nearly as impressive as whatever Namor's Atlantis has to offer. And what is it they have to offer? Honestly, nothing.
In 80 years, the only narrative importance of Atlantis was to be destroyed. It gets destroyed because of an Earthquake, it gets destroyed because Shuri feels like destroying it, it gets destroyed because Hyperion feels like destroying it, it gets destroyed as an unintended consequence of Roxxon's operations, hell, once Namor destroyed it to avoid letting it be destroyed by someone else.
As for technology, the most we have seen of it are apparatus that let the Merfolk breathe on earth, like a SCUBA set. Which, honestly, given the scope of things we see in the Marvel universe, is child's play. It's shit.
So seeing Xavier and Magneto constantly humiliate themselves to have Namor accept them as allies because apparently they need Atlantis' help more than anything else is unbelievable. Nearly as unbelievable as Namor looking at all those things and refusing to be an ally of the X-Men because they are not up to his standards yet.
You know what makes this situation even sillier? Immediately before the current X-men phase, one of the last books had been "X-Men Red", and Namor was an ally of the X-Men there. He was part of the roster and offered them all the help Atlantis could provide, and that only amounted to a Headquarters. That's all. No immortality, no Utopias, no terr

Raditz shows up on Dragon Ball Earth. Instead of finding another Saiyan and a Namekian, he runs into an Atlantean, a Zenn-Lavian, a sorcerer, and a Hulk. These four have decided that they will defend Earth and the universe in general! Can Namor, Hulk, Silver Surfer, and Dr. Strange from Marvel comics replace the Z-Fighters in Dragon Ball Z and keep the world/universe safe?
Respect: Namor, Hulk, Silver Surfer, Strange
Regardless of their actions, The Defenders have to deal with: Vegeta and Nappa, Frieza and all of his forces on Namek, The Androids (They can have Saiyan cells and stuff still), Cell, Babidi, Buu, then everything in DBS up to Granolah. U6V U7, Infinite Zamasu, ToP, Moro...
How do The Defenders do? Can they defend Dragon Ball Earth from the various threats it faces?

THIS IS THE HARD ONE
This is a 3-day event of 24-hour subs. The nodes are primarily tile-movers with just a dash of random goons. Enemy teams are usually deviously high on synergy, so your teams will generally need to be well-thought-out as well. Itβs likely that youβll use more health packs than usual. This is a good event to consider dropping an SCL.
The Join Forces node is on the main event page. There are no Wave nodes. One-time nodes for a larger chunk of Iso-8 are available after completing the Heroic-3 node in each sub.

Its weird. Marvel seems to love to have Sue cheat on Reed with Namor in so many au books. I get It's a live triangle, but its always in poor taste. Am I the only one who weirded out by this?
Do you think that the mcu is going to keep namorβs mutant origin or do you prefer that they completely ignore it?
I'm having a hard time quaking him. I still haven't ranked up/sigged namor (been meaning to, regretting it now). Has anybody found alternatives? I havent been able to really find much. The unlimited power terrax, in 7.1, I used magik. Does anybody think it would work, probably w a mystic power booster? Kt1 mentioned it, but I haven't been able to find somebody actually doing it.
There wasn't a gauntlet thread last night, I didn't check this morning. If one has been made, sorry.

There are rumors floating around that Namor may be showing up in Black Panther. Namor is considered to be marvel comic's first mutant. So why not have Namor be the first MCU Mutant?
Hi!
I haven't read comics in about a year (i was in and out of the hospital for the past year). I was wondering what Namor has been up to. Any comics he's been in or trouble he's c aused
Thank you for your help!
One of the big questions I've had regarding Namor and Atlantis as the antagonists of a Black Panther movie is how they could tie into the first film's themes. What I loved about the first movie is how Coogler used the superhero genre to explore isolationism, racism, Afrofuturism, xenophobia, foreign aid, etc. So I was curious how something like Atlantis could continue those themes if it is the villain of BP2.
After some thought, I believe I've got a few possible angles they could go for that I feel as though could potentially work.
1). Using Atlantis to explore the theme of colonization and "genetic superiority"
Think about: an arrogant dude from another country who believes his genetics/upbringing make him superior to others, arrives to attack an African country and potentially take it over/steal your resources. That 100% gives off the energy of a colonizer.
Maybe Wakanda opening up to the world leads Atlantis to attack in order to obtain its vibranium. Maybe Namor seeks to create an Atlantean empire and believes conquering Wakanda, an incredibly powerful and technologically advanced country, is the perfect way to showcase the power of his people.
Whatever the case, they could use Namor and the Atlanteans to explore these themes.
2). Using Atlantis to explore Chicanafuturism and African/Hispanic relations
We know Tenoch Huerta, a Mexican actor, is rumored to be playing Namor and that Marvel has been looking for Maya actors for some film (potentially this one). This potentially gives off the idea that the MCU will have their take on Atlantis take inspiration from Hispanic culture. This can be interesting in two ways.
For one, this could be an interesting chance to explore Chicanafuturism. For those who don't know, Chicanafuturism is to Mexican/Hispanic culture what Afrofuturism is to black culture. It involves utilizing the sci-fi genre to explore Mexican culture. This could be a unique take on Atlantis as well as an interesting way to explore a futuristic Hispanic culture.
Second, it could be an interesting chance to explore the complex nature of African/Hispanic relations, with emphasis on the idea that Wakanda and Atlantis share a lot of similar qualities.
3). Using Atlantis to answer the question of who should Wakanda provide aid to
One of the big questions raised in the first film is whether or not Wakanda providing foreign aid and providing its resources to others is dangerous. What i
... keep reading on reddit β‘I feel like if Namor is the villain for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it will be because of the vibranium spire that Ultron used in Age of Ultron to lift Sokovia into the air. It fell into the ocean, and was made of vibranium, so it's entirely possible that it hit Atlantis. Since Namor hates the surface world, he could blame Wakanda for whatever damage the spire did. Also while I'm on the topic, I feel that Henry Golding would be an amazing choice to play Namor. He's got the perfect look for him.
Namor at his core in the comics is very much characterized as being kind of a dick. You get why he is the way he is and you understand why he does what he does, but there's no denying the dude's a bit of an asshole to basically everyone. The dude massacred Wakanda, blew up an entire alternate Earth with zero guilt, has repeatedly to steal Sue from Reed, etc. He's had good moments but he's definitely primarily not a particularly nice person.
So with this in mind, I really feel like they should find a really charismatic actor who can play the role of Namor, someone who can make the character's more dickish tendencies more enjoyable to an extent or at the very least, make him a love-to-hate type of character. If he's a recurring character, you'd need an actor who can make him someone the audience would want to follow.
With Loki, so much of why the character works and why we enjoy continuing to see him is because of Tom Hiddleston. On-paper, this is a character who could've easily ended up unsympathetic, someone we'd get tired of, whose backstabbing tendencies would feel too much, but Hiddleston is able to capture the charm and personality needed for us to still want more of him, to sympathize with him and want to keep seeing more of his character.
With Zemo, so much of why we enjoy his character and want to see him as a recurring character is thanks to Bruhl's charisma. His acting helps elevate the character into someone who, when they succeed in doing questionable things, we still find ourselves interested in seeing more of him, we feel the same glee and pride he feels.
So with Namor, it should be the same way. Someone who can get us to really feel the same pride the character feels when things go his way or someone who can really entertain us with their dickishness or someone who on some level we can sympathize with.
vs
the incomplete Death Star from Return of the Jedi
Starkiller base from the sequel trilogy
Namor needs a challenge and his call was answered when he gets teleported on a barren planet with nothing he can use to get off the planet and no weapons he can use.
The original Death Star is about the distance from Earth to the moon. While the incomplete Death Star is about the distance it was from Endor. Starkiller base about the distance from Earth to Mars. The two Death Stars fire at the same rate they do in the movies. Starkiller base is next to a super giant star where it can recharge as much times as it wants and takes 15 minutes to fully charge up. All shots are planned to be at full power.
While this is happening, fleets of hundreds of various star fighters have been deployed from each Death Star ready to engage Namor. Starkiller base has hundreds of thousands star fighters.
Inside the original Death Star besides all the typical personel is Palpatine at his Rise of Skywalker levels, Darth Vader (your choice of Force Unleashed games levels or canon Disney levels) and Darth Maul at full power (because thatβs who Lucas wanted to be the main villain of his sequel trilogy).
Meanwhile Starkiller (the video game character) and Yoda are inside the incomplete Death Star.
Starkiller base has the sequel First Order cast and the entire Jedi temple with all the Jedi who are suppose to be there.
Victory until everyone on one side is dead. Which side comes out on top?
I would like to read more about the relationship between Wakanda and Atlantis, and I was wondering if anyone had some stories and/or issues where it is really explored? I read Hickmans New Avengers and that is the only basis I have for their relationship.
