A list of puns related to "My Fair Lady"
Morning
19th Day of the 5th Moon, 98AC
The rising sun of the Vale warmed Yohnβs cheeks as the party set out from the Gates of the Moon.
Swaying atop Starburst, Yohn felt on top of the world. The beast whinnied and huffed.
βTalkative today, are we?β He said, patting the side of her neck. Her soft hair felt good beneath his hand.
The caravan stretched out quite some ways. Carriages and horses, men on foot, carts and wagons pulled by mules and aurochs surrounded the small Hunter company. Only five men including Yohn, this was a much larger host than he had left Longbow Hall with.
It was beautiful outside, Yohn felt a song in the air. Still full from the feast the night before, he found his mind turning to the lovely dove that he had gazed upon on the dais.
Zhoe
The name rung in his head like a bell. The thought of those soft eyes still hung in his mind.
He smiled.
Flapping in the distance, he noticed the banners of House Arryn. βPerhaps she is thereβ Yohn thought.
Digging his heels into the sides of his great destrier, he urged the beast forward. Passing men of all houses to reach the carriage.
As he pulled up to its side, he beckoned.
βMy Lady Arryn? Is that you?β
Funny how all we women need is a man to treat us like crap, and in doing so he will bring us into the best version of ourselves. We definitely can't do that on our own, we absolutely need men so that we know that we are the best we can be. Turn us from a draggle-tailed guttersnipe to a duchess as the movie says.
"Does it occur to you Higgins that the girl has some feelings?"
"Oh, no. I don't think so. Not any feeling that we need to bother about"
I think that the thing that bothers me the most about this movie is her father. He acts all proud but couldn't be bothered to take care of his only child, and he acts as if he is jealous for who she becomes. And then acting resentful because he is given quite a bit of money, blaming this on his daughter all while refusing to help her or give her a place to live. The narcissistic parent, folks, here on display.
This movie teaches us that a man can talk to us however he wants to, insulting us at every turn, but if he offers us chocolate then we must stay and put up with it. Because, well.......chocolate.
Which one was better in your opinion?
My wife wants to see a "classic" Broadway show, so we narrowed it down to these two. I've never seen either so I'm happy either way. My Fair Lady is apparently a pretty hot ticket as seating for December is already limited. Chicago has plenty of seats available for about half the price of most other big shows, which I don't understand why the difference. Any thoughts? Recommendations?
