I’m really struggling with how sparing Gil is the “good” choice.
It makes more sense with Grace Holloway and even Stanley Poole; you’re trying to show Eleanor that violence and revenge isn’t the answer for those who have personally wronged you.
But with Gil, not only is he more malicious than the other two when you encounter him, there’s the recording from him from before he went mad pleading you to kill him. The Gil from the recordings never wanted to become what he is by the time you encounter him. Which kind of suggests that the moral thing to do would be to kill him.
I guess you could argue that the Gil you encounter isn’t the same as the one from the recordings, and that he no longer wishes to die even as an act of “mercy” on your part. He doesn’t recall his previous life and isn’t bound to the desires or promises of the old Gil, and it would be “bad” to force it upon him. I guess. What do you guys think?

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
