A list of puns related to "Music of Ireland"
(Of course, I am probably generalising and not 100% correct with my assumptions)
So i am completing my degree in music this year, and for my final analytical project i need other musicians to complete a very short (multiple choice) survey about online music blogs (stuff like ScottsBassLessons)
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9CLDC5Y
Its only 10 questions, with an average completion time of 60 seconds. Honestly, EVERY response counts (especially now considering we are all locked inside), so please help a fellow bassist out!
If you are a person who is subscribed / regularly uses music education blogs, could you tell me why you DONT like about them in the comments? any negative trends etc?
Thanks you all so so much!
I present a radio show called The Crooked Button Radio Show on NearFM, a not-for-profit community station in Dublin, Ireland. I'm ever on the hunt for new experimental music & sound art, and I'd like you to send me your work if you're interested in having it played on air. I got some really good stuff the last time I posted here and I played loads of it.
You can find me on Facebook here and on Twitter here. Or you can mail me at thecrookedbuttonradioshow@gmail.com
I'll play anything experimental that catches my ear but I lean towards underground, DIY, lo-fi, sonic art, field recordings, noise, avant garde, sound poetry, and anything else with a strong weirdo or experimental vibe. I try to air stuff that might not get onto the more high falutin' art shows too. I generally lean away from prog rock, fusion and dancey techno stuff.
Thanks. CiarΓ‘n
Hello r/Ireland! I am currently creating a 2-part podcast series on the jazz music industry in Ireland, covering the history of the genre in the country, notable Irish jazz musicians and their careers, and the state of jazz in the country at the moment.
I am posting here to hear your experiences! If anyone has any stories about amazing Irish acts they've seen, little tidbits about the history, or even how you think the scene is going in Ireland at the moment - I'd love to hear it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! Stay warm folks
I'm updating my MP3 player that was last updated 6 years ago. Mostly used in work van on way to Dublin. Would anyone have a song list or help me out. Love all music from trance dance to Irish pub and traditional to metal and punk rock. I'm going at it slow paced here so any suggestions would be brilliant or links to YouTube channels.
Total budget and country of purchase: My budget is around β¬600 for the laptop, since I have to potentially buy a camera and microphone set up as well (i dont plan on using the laptops inbuild options)
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Best specs for the money. I shouldnt be hauling it around anywhere, or use it in any other way.
How important is weight and thinness to you? Not important.
Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. I prefer bigger over smaller, and taller is better for reading sheet music on a screen, but thats a luxury, not a requirement
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Just want to use it to steam lessons, probably using Zoom. Ill be using a seperate camera and microphone set up.
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? NA
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Long shelf life. Id prefer to buy it once and not have to worry about it for a while. Prefer it to be quiet, had some loud laptops before.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I dont know too much about steaming. I read that its heavier on the CPU over the GPU. I dont know if some of the recommended options like the thinkpads in the quick picks favour one over the other. If the quality goes up more with price, i might be able to stetch, it depends on the value I would be getting, I think.
Trying to track down copies or a scan of all 4 volumes of these books. I used them quite a lot in the 90's but lost my copies some time ago. I am aware that abc's and the tunes are posted online but would prefer a scan as the fonts were lovely and I would like to jog the memory cells of days gone by. Thanks a lot
