A list of puns related to "Montauk County Park"
Recently a week on the beach with my family. We haven't camped together for more than 10 years. Two boys now 26 and 28 and a daughter 22. The last time was in a popup with a slideout.
At Shagwong you need your boondocking setup for electric, water, and sewer but it was just amazing and we have been all over the United States. I was very apprehensive about this but I just watched what others did. I have helped friends take their campers out but never my own. Air down and don't make sharp turns. TV tires at 15psi and 2021 26000RB at 25 psi. Water and sewer is at the entrance and unless you are solar enhanced you should have a quiet generator (9am - 1pm and 5pm - 9pm)

Looking east, Montauk lighthouse is around that point (Shagwong Point) in the distance.
I am looking for suggestions for a road trip to a Montauk Park this Saturday. Planning to leave from Brooklyn at about 7am.
I really have no specific goal other than hang out in the park for a while but not for too long because it will probably be cold, windy and miserable. I've been there about 20 years ago and remember it having nice views and a bit of "edge of the Earth" feeling.
Basically I am just trying to punctuate the dreariness of the existence.
Any suggestions where I can stop and see something interesting along the way (to/from), considering the drive will probably take 3-3.5 hours each way?
Are there any bathrooms along the way? I don't remember any service areas from my trip 20 years ago.
Looking for pretty/ picturesque, less well known parks in the county. Meaning no Balboa Park, Kate Sessions, Scripps Parks- we all love those, and they are beautiful but Iβm trying to find parks that are less well known. Iβve lived here all my life, a nearly 40 years but still havenβt traveled to every corner of the county. Hoping this list will get me out to some of these spots. Would love to get a list going.
As stated in the title, I'm looking to interview any and all Monmouth and Ocean county restaurant folks! I want to chat with people who worked through the pandemic, or who left the restaurant industry during the pandemic, for a story on how these past two years have changed the business - especially amidst "The Great Resignation." Servers, bartenders, bussers, managers, hostesses, chefs, line cooks - I want to hear from you!
You can either DM me or email me at glaracca@gannett.com.
Thank you all in advance :)
The gravel lot on South Parkway closed when they did the overpass addition and I believe its cotton harvesting season so I think the cotton gin at Jeff and Nick Davis is off the table. Anywhere else I'm missing? I have a car I need to sell as quickly as possible and its too old to turn into a dealership/carmax/vroom/ect
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've done a few hours of research and haven't found a suitable answer. My goal is to bike from my house in Brooklyn, near Prospect Park, to Montauk. I'm trying to plan the best route and would like some input. I'm leaning towards taking NYS route 25/25A. What would be test best/safest/less stressfull way to get form Prospect Park, to the start of route 25? (which is the Cold Spring Harbor LIRR Station)
