Cleaning the rim of a meerschaum pipe. Questions.
Hi yaβll.
How does one go about cleaning the rim of a meerschaum pipe? I understanding the pipe naturally colours over time, but Iβm talking about the soot thatβs on the rim.
Iβve done some googling and seem to be getting semi conflicting advice.
I think what Iβll do is sand the rim with very fine grit and then rewax the rim.
Question. Is it okay to wax the rim?
I feel like I will follow this guyβs advice, unless there are any major objections.

Can a meerschaum pipe be altered to eliminate gurgling?
Pipers with briar pipes that gurgle but are otherwise expected to smoke well sometimes drill out a larger draw hole as a remedy. Is that an option with a meerschaum? Have any of you done it/had it done?
Two of the most visually beautiful pipes among the few I own, a half-bent meer and a Nording freehand churchwarden, are the only ones that I have a gurgling problem with. Go figure.

Hi guys,
I've recently come upon meerschaum lined pipes. I've had straight meerschaum but not lined...
From what I've searched on the Web, most people giving opinions say they haven't tried one, but give an opinion nonetheless, somehow...
What are your guy's experience with these? (there's a few posts, but nothing on a yay or nay on them). Have you considered buying one? Why or why not?
