A list of puns related to "Marvin Gaye (song)"
It played the song in mono, stereo, and then Atmos. Idk why but I like it listening to it haha I looked through the spatial audio playlist that Apple has created but I canβt find it anymore
Marvin Gaye went to the top of the Rhythm and Blues charts with I Want You in the mid-1970s. I loved the sound but was too young to understand what he was singing about.
Now I get itβ¦Here are the lyrics:
I give you all the love I want in return sweet darling. But half a love is all I feel. It's too bad, it's just too sad, you don't want me now. But I'm going to change your mind, someway, somehow, oh baby.
[Chorus] I want youβthe right way. I want you. But I want you to want me too. I want you to want me, baby. Just like I want you.
[Verse 2] This one way love is just a fantasy, oh sugar. To share is precious, pure and fair. Don't play with something you should cherish for life, oh baby. Don't you want to care? Ain't it lonely out there?
This is a remix. The lyrics start 2 minutes in β I Want You - remix

Hello!
I am a huge fan of Marvin and I was once introduced to a live song of his and for the life of me can't find it anywhere, please help!
At the top of the song he has a little introduction and it goes
"I'm just going to sing whatever comes right off the top of my head, I'm gonna sing right from my soul"
Or something to that effect.
The lyrics are something like "oh I need you baby, oh I got to have you"
And I'm pretty sure he used distant lover as a background but I can't find it!
Please Marvin fans, help me out, and I'm sorry about not being more specific, as I heard it only once many years ago
My god. Everytime I hear "Sexual healing" and Marvin begins with the long "baaaabyyy" I get literal goosebumps. This song is something else, as well as Marvin.

I just recently got engaged and have been searching really hard for a first dance song both my fiancee and I will like.
We're both big fans of older soulful ballad songs like At Last by Eta James and Come Rain or Come Shine by Ray Charles.
I'm even open to other genres as well for not so overplayed songs as well but I really like soul/R&B sounds.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

He heard it through the grapevine.
I want to use 4 lyrics from a Marvin Gaye song(they're not the hook or title of his song) as my bands album title. Will I get in trouble for doing so? I don't know much about copyright.
The only similarity between "Got to Give it Up" and "Blurred Lines" is the initial groove. They have different chord changes/progressions, different vocal melodies, structures, lyrics, and many other elements. If this is enough to sue, we can probably do this for every song on the Hot 100!
I'll start with #1: Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPf0YbXqDm0 and.. The Time - Jungle Love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=919Gt1SczVY
See! I hear the same beat/groove and similar funk guitar! Lawyers, furrow your brows and begin shouting!
Edit: Front paaaage, thanks contributors! Keep in mind sampling is different; if you literally use someoneβs sound recording (which is tied to a composition), youβre dead to rights and owe the original songwriters a share. This usually isnβt a problem anymore as most samplers ask/pay before they release. The reason I find this verdict controversial is because the jury was convinced that these 2 different songs were similar enough (based on just that one groove as far as I can tell, which is not copyrightable) to warrant copyright infringement. TL;DR: Verdict probably not based on real laws.
Update: thanks for the gold, kind stranger!
