Shane Pow, who is previously a Mediacorp actor, has been imprisoned for five weeks, fined S$6,000 (RM18,589.55) and banned from driving for five years today after driving his van while drunk in the Bugis area last year.
The 30-year-old Singaporean pleaded guilty in the State Courts to one count of drink-driving under the Road Traffic Act.
He began serving his jail time immediately.
This has been his second conviction related to drink-driving, the first which was on July 2014 at the age of 23. He had been fined for S$2,300 for his first offense and for driving without due care and attention after acquiring his license that same year.
Repeat offenders would be indicted with hefty punishment which includes a driving ban of at least five years, up to two yearsβ jail, and a fine of between S$5,000 and S$20,000.
Not sure if I want to link to the actual video (don't want to give them extra traffic) but just want to have some discussion here. I make films and will conduct audition and casting from time to time. I come across I Quadrant and found them to be in the similar line as imran and co. Hence I normally ignore them.
However, one of their ad caught my attention because it is just candid interviews with "normal singaporean" and one of the uncle(which was heavily featured) is an actor that I have auditioned before.
This led me to think if lines were fed and they deliberately scripted it to mislead the audience. Something just seem a little off to me. Legally I don't think it's wrong, but ethically it's dubious. What do you all think?
I'm in 123456789 nct subunits and preparing to debut in aespa, rv, exo and suju so I might take some time to answer.
The reason why this is unpopular is because people often debate whether Mark's blonde hair or Mark's black hair are his superior hair colors. It's mostly between these two options, and I definitely understand where they're coming from. Mark's recent hairstyle got me dead. Oof. And please let's bring back the SuperM hairstylist because this is art. But I'm digressing. Other than those two hair colors, I don't really see much talk about any other color. Sure, there's the occasional person that brings up the pink mullet shivers but that's pretty much it. Now I'm going to shock you by bringing up the superior hair color that no one appreciates in this fandom.
His green hair.
Now you may say, "green hair? No one can rock green hair lol it's such an ugly hair color." To that I say, exhibit 1, exhibit 2, exhibit 3, exhibit 4, and exhibit 5.
Still not convinced? He can also look cute. Look at this smile. Adorable.
Not to mention how handsome he looks here. Wow.
And it's not just bright green. [He also rocks darker green](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/

Long story short, yesterday NCT 127 had a online fanmeeting, and basically a male fan talked to Mark and jokingly tried to flirt with him, to which Mark reacted just like he reacts when girl fans flirt with him: awkwardly trying to move on from it as soon as possible.
Now, if you know Mark for a while, you know that he clearly doesn't like that kind of interaction with fans, everytime someone says anything weird like that to him he get's very embarrassed and awkward and it just kills the whole vibe, honestly I could do a whole rant just on how fans urgently need to start acting normal during fansigns, but that's not my point now. My point is, at first everyone was just laughing about his awkward reaction, but then people started going overboard and "jokingly" saying that "Mark must be homophobic to have reacted like that" and then going even further and relating it to him being a Christian.
To some of you this probably seems like a non-issue, but the thing is that this isn't the first time this happens. Every once in a while people find weird reasons to bring up his religion and try to use it to make him seem like a bad person, even though they always say they're "just joking".
I don't even have to say that saying someone is homophobic isn't something to joke about to begin with, but also, I have some points about the whole thing:
Even if you're part of the fandom and you think you're just joking, you should know damn well that if your "joke" reaches other fandoms, it can easily lead to people hating on Mark.
He never in his entire career has ever said anything homophobic, assuming that he's bigoted based on nothing but his faith is incredibly harmful not only to him but even to the religion itself and it's followers in general. People already have really bad impressions of christianity (for good reasons, yes), and by saying those jokes, you're doing nothing but stigmatizing the religion even more.
Not only it is harmful to him and to the religion itself and it's followers in general, it's also harmful to his lgbt fans, because we all know how most lgbt people have had really had experiences with religious people, imagine how unconfortable it must be for someone to be lgbt and see people talking about how their idol must be homophobic specifically because they're a christian.
Honestly I just wish people would respect Mark's beliefs, I always think about how much I wish he felt confortable with ta
... keep reading on reddit β‘I often see a lot of mark praise for his rapping and while I agree that he definitely checks off a lot of the aspects that make a good rapper I wouldn't actually consider him one. the blaccent he forces on his verses is very off putting and i feel like it got even worse this year, it's also very obvious when you compare his voice now to ncts earlier songs besides that he does a lot of the same and barely changes up his tone, flow etc and it becomes boring to hear him. also not a fan of his constant loud enunciation lately but that could be part of production.
Ik this is a veryyyy unpopular opinion but it's been annoying me lately
Hi guys! I wanted to make an appreciation post about Mark's beautiful voice as a trained vocalist who sees a lot of potential in him. So we all know about the Insta live with him singing, and I was really impressed. He's definitely improved significantly. I encourage people to listen to his singing because it was amazing. I also suggest listening to the Snow Prince performance where he gets an opportunity to show his vocals. I just wanted to list a couple of things Mark does with his voice that I really like:
I am feeling so soft with this interaction. For ppl who are curious, there are some tiktok videos abt this little boy who is a huge fan of Mark Lee! He calls him mark lee spiderman and even compliments him so much! This is just so cute. Nctzens wanted Mark Lee to know this fan ofc and finally he noticed him!
I am so happy! Mark Lee is such an inspiration and i'm glad to know that he inspires kids as well. Mark Lee spiderman i luv you!
I've been a kpop stan for quite some time now, and NCT in general has always overwhelmed me, like nothing negative but all the sub-units and overlaps have always confused me, buuuut I'm getting into it now haha. I've been particularly drawn to Mark Lee the past couple of weeks like idk where it started actually. One day I just found myself watching YouTube compilations, especially of those of him playing the guitar and that thing about Eric pointing out that moment when he gave his speech and thanked God im sooo soft. And ofc the most recent aka his Spidermark costume HAHA help ok idc what anyone says, the whole thought and gesture just cos fans wanted him in that fit is endearing :( He has this positive aura around him, topped of with his nice vocals and million dollar smile. Sorry for rambling hahaha ANYWAY
So I ended up binge listening to NCT, starting with the ballads (Coming Home is my fave rn!) and also just finished watching a couple of JCC videos (the Thanksgiving one and flying yoga my faves, Chicago, florist etc.) and found myself smiling the entire time. There's something about Johnny and Mark's bond specifically that I love watching, I can't describe it???
Idrk what I'm trying to get at with this haha I think it's just a random appreciation post I felt writing! I really love it when I discover and get into new things and artists. Since I'm trying to catch up with years worth of content and music, to the nctzens on this sub, what was that one video/song or any moment that made you think "okay that's it im stanning NCT"? Yay thanks in advance!!
I was watching MMGT recently where 127 came and the host pointed out the way Mark speaks. He uses honestly, so like like a lot while speaking and then everybody kinda teased him for it. I know many people just laugh it off but I found it sad. And it's not just once ,it happens all the time. I wonder if it has ever hurt his feelings..idk he has lot of patience. In shows, English interviews, while explaining songs or in their content videos the members and the fandom are always making fun of what he says or his actions when they could just let it pass.
What I want to say is that I get that the members are close to him but I wish they or at least the fandom would chill with the teasing. After MMGT ppl were saying he really doesn't have anything much to say and how much second hand embarrassment he gives them. When the SNL skit came out my ig feed was filled with his vids and everyone in the comments were making fun of it. That was okay because he won't really read it but do you really need to ask him to do it again in the fan calls? He obviously dislikes aegyo so why force and ask him..
About the speaking I sympathize with him because I also have trouble putting my thoughts in words, especially if I have too many thoughts or I just kinda lose train of what I was gonna say. I blunder over words and say things that don't make sense, which in itself is embarassing af. I always wish people would give me a sign of encouragement and some time to think when this happens. But mostly I get teased and laughed at a lot too.
I just don't like how the fandom sometimes treats Mark. On one hand he is the talented swag rapper who is praised left and right and then suddenly the laughing stock of the entire Ncity. Honestly he is one of the most mature idol I know. He is not a kid like so many make him out to be. When he really speaks, like after organising his thoughts, his words always carry weight and show how deeply he thinks about things. I find his words encouraging and well thought out. Especially when he talks about his work ethic or his dreams. Sometimes he does mess up but he shouldn't be dragged down everytime..Treat him with more respect, thats it.
