A list of puns related to "Mailbox Birmingham"
Evening,
I'll shortly be commuting to Birmingham for work each day near the mailbox area. I've heard rumors the parking for motorcycles is free but not sure if that's true? Doesn't appear to be so looking at the website
Are there any safeish alternatives? Train fare is going to be Β£220.00 per month so i'd rather avoid that if possible.
TIA
I'm part of a team from the University of Birmingham in the shop opposite the main BBC shop in the Mailbox Birmingham from 9-5 (Saturday and Sunday) and it's free entry for the event, along with a bunch of other tech demos from other local unis and companies :)
So from early next year, I'm having to travel to Birmingham Uni quite often. However I'm trying to find the best route to either cycle or run to/from the main campus to New St station and back, during rush hour times.
Anyone any suggestions of what route would be best to take?
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
About a month ago, I made a post asking for advice on how to spend 48 hours on a solo trip to Birmingham, built around attending Saturdayβs match. I wanted to thank everyone for all your advice (especially u/couverbrum) and travel tips - had such a great time walking around the city (emphasis on βwalkingβ - I hit over 30,000 steps on Saturday and over 12,000 on Sunday, all before 2 PM) and seeing Villa in person for the first time. A few highlights:
Food recommendations were all on point - highlights were Hen & Chicken for Indian and 1000 Trades for the Sunday roast, and the balti pie may be the best food Iβve had at a sporting event (admittedly low bar - stadium food is pretty dire in the US - but it still was as expected). Special note as well for the Turkish coffee/Turkish delight combo I got at Damascena on Sunday.
As someone who loves street art and good microbrews, it should come as no surprise that I really enjoyed walking through Digbeth on Saturday morning (and Saturday evening to check out a few breweries/brewpubs). Felt like it was a world away from the city center.
Thanks to whoever recommended the bike alongside the canal to the university. Grabbed a bike share from the Mailbox (across from my hotel) on Saturday morning and went for about 2-3 miles. Perfect way to start the day, especially to get myself acclimated to the time change.
Was very surprised at how lively Birmingham was on Friday/Saturday night (then again, I went in knowing admittedly very little about the city), as well as throughout the weekend. The city center was hopping the whole time - the Christmas market definitely contributed to that; havenβt seen any markets like that in the US, so it was a lot of fun to walk through.
As to game day, I went to the Aston Inn for a few drinks/burger pregame, where I befriended a group of three Villa fans whom I ended up chatting with for the duration of my time there (and later met up with postgame at the same spot). Loved sitting in the Holte End, and while I was surprised at how flat the atmosphere seemed at times, guessing it was due to the recent poor form, high tension, and the fact that it was far from the best game for most of the 90 minutes (I was convinced itβd end 0-0). That said, the last ten minutes (as well as the postgame buzz) felt really special - the Watkins goal is up there for the loudest reactions Iβve e

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
