For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Just gonna swallow my embarrassment because I did this and I don't feel like making a throw away. Please be kind in your replies- I've had NO financial education beyond the little I've learned already, and my parents are not good fiscal examples. I'm panicking quite a bit because I'm scared that my student loans are going to keep me in the place I live currently, and I'd like to move to a different state ASAP.
21F. Senior in college. I'm gonna throw out a breakdown of my month to month expenses, then my student loans, then my income info. Please give me any and all tips to cut back on spending and start saving more than I've already tried to. It's my goal to be able to move from the midwest down to Florida before next winter, but if it takes until Spring of 2023 I'll be sad but fully understand that my financial situation is my own fault. I'm hoping to buy a house down there so I can pay an actual mortgage, and not just the rent equivalent. I don't think I'll have anyone else to help me pay for that at that point.
Bills:
- Rent - $615/Month + $8.95 withdrawal "convenience fee"
- Apartment Utilities - $25(ish)/Month
- City Electric - $65(ish)/month
- Internet Services + Leasing their router($12) - $94.92
- Care Credit - $29/month, three months left to $0 balance
- Capital One Student Card - Minimum $50/month, current balance is $1000ish. I pay more than $50/month
- Car (Gas) - $15/month in a typical month
- Car (Coolant) $15/month
- Mental Health Meds - $25/month
- Grocery Store Stuff: $100/month
- Mental Health Dopamine Spending - $200/month (I'm trying to get better about this one. It's an uphill battle)
A note on the CapOne card- I moved at the tail end of July, and racked up about $875 on that card in the process because I thought I was fiscally prepared and was wrong. In a normal year that card's balance is less than $100, and it gets paid off every single month.
Income Streams:
- $15/hr x 39hrs per week, I.T. Apprenticeship
- $12/hr x 16hrs per weekend, temp staffing gigs
- I also donate plasma when I'm able to, two appointments a week without bonuses is usually $90-$120 dollars. (Next week I'll make bare minimum $600 off of it thanks to a promo thing happening)
My apprenticeship is supposed to turn into an actual salaried contract at the end of it, which should be in the next three months. Glassdoor is ballpark estimating 77K per year, but I'm not sure how much I trust that estimate.

This is the 22nd annual Wrestlemania, the tagline is 'Big Time' although the match card feels pretty limited compared to the previous couple. John Cena and Triple H headline, we have Edge vs Mick Foley in a hardcore match, Shawn Michaels vs Mr McMahon in a no holds barred fight and the World Heavyweight Title is defended in a triple threat match. Going into this I was intrigued to see how WWE would do with their biggest event of the year after a painfully average start to the year as far as pay-per-views go. Let's see how the night unfolded.
Chicago's own Michelle Williams is this year's artist to perform 'America The Beautiful'. I'm no singer or ever claimed to be one but the crowd seemed to enjoy it.
We have a very good video package to the song 'I Dare You' from Shinedown. Another band that I got into largely down to wrestling. This is followed by another VT focusing on those matches that I mentioned earlier and also Undertaker vs Mark Henry, not exactly a match I have high hopes for.
I always remember the pictures of the superstars hung up around the stands of the arena. The set isn't a classic Wrestlemania set but the skyscraper design isn't the worst idea.
JR is back once more after last appearing on Saturday Night's Main Event last month, King joins him as Michael Cole and Tazz will oversee the Smackdown side of things whilst Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich occupy the Spanish announce table and if you know WWE then that's gonna be the table that doesn't finish the show in one piece.
Match 1 - Big Show and Kane (c) vs Carlito and Chris Masters for the World Tag Team Championships
The tag champs haven't looked threatened since winning the belts back in November at Taboo Tuesday. This feels more like an excuse to get the four on the show rather than a true tag team title match.
Show and Kane's entrance is pretty cool with the visual of the city being on fire. Slow Chemical is in my top 5 entrance themes of all time!
The champs have a dominant start resulting in Big Show press slamming Carlito onto Masters on the outside and then Kane flying off the top rope with a clothesline to the floor. Carlito sends Show into the exposed turnbuckle with a drop toe hold and the challengers get a near fall off of a double flapjack. Big Show comes back with an impressive double suplex and makes the hot tag to Kane, (get it?)... Masters with a chop block to save his partner from the Chokeslam, Kane sits up
