A list of puns related to "Loi Krathong"
Hello, I lurked this sub for a great while- thank you to everyone who contributes to this. I have some questions as I embark on my 3rd (and last) week of travel. In Koh Lanta/ where should I celebrate Loi Krathong? Not into the bar scene, want to experience culture. Any other must-dos in Koh Lanta and Ao Nang/Railay appreciated! We are most interested in culture, the beach, snorkeling & food. Additionally, I would like to buy dried mangos for my friends in the states. Can you suggest a particular brand/place to get them? Any other food souvenirs suggested? We are flying out of Phuket, we only will be in town for less than 24 hrs. Any suggestions besides beach? We have heard a lot of mixed reviews on Phuket so didnโt plan on exploring it much. TIA
As the title says, my girlfriend and I are planning a trip to go SEA in november. Have never been to that part of the world and not sure how to plan. We have been looking at other peopleโs itineraries but usually go for a lot longer.
Welcome all ideas and suggestions for how to make the best use of our times. Only things we know weโre trying to do is go to Loi Krathong - everything else is flexible.
Thank you for any and all suggestions ahead of time!
We will be flying from Chiang Mai to Phuket on the morning of Nov 12th (hoping we will see some of the beginning of the festival on Nov 11th in Chiang Mai). We are looking for recommendations on where to stay Nov 12-15th in SW Thailand. Max budget ~$150 USD/night.
Things to consider/what we want to do:
We've looked at hotels on Koh Phi Phi and near southern Phuket. We aren't sure how to weigh the pros/cons of each location and appreciate any advice!
Iโm booked on a 7pm cruise down the river tomorrow-Fri night to watch the release of the lanterns. Iโd love to share this experience with any nomads in Chiang Mai.
Anybody planning on going to Loi Krathong in Thailand in November? Any advice from those who have gone?
Hi /r/Thailand - I'll be visiting the country in mid to late November and I've heard a lot about the lantern festival and full moon party that happen on both ends of the country.
In 2015, the dates seem set for both events to occur at the same time (November 25). My question is, if you had to make a choice to pick one over the other - which would you choose & why?
This will be my first and only chance to visit the country for a while, so I'm really hoping to make the best of it. Thanks for the help!
I'm in Bangkok this week and an amateur photographer. I'd love to get some pictures of Loi Krathong tonight, but I'm coming up short on English-language websites of where to go. My wife's family is Thai and suggested dinner on a boat, but those all seem booked. Any suggestions?
As an aside, THANK YOU (khop khun khrap!) to Thai people for their for their amazing hospitality during my stay. I am truly sorry for the loss of your King. I know that I can't fully comprehend how you feel, but I can easily see how very much you loved him.
Hello everyone, thank you so much for being here to answer questions, it's very kind of you.
My daughter (8) and I will be traveling to Thailand for the first time on the 30th of October, and staying until the 19th of November.
Our plans are mostly open ended, we will meet a friend and stay a few days in Bangkok before getting on a train north to Chiang Mai with stops along the way.
I found out after plans had been made that our holiday coincides with a holiday in Thailand, Loi Krathong. My reading says that crowds in the larger cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai are intense, which we would like to avoid.
Can you recommend a smaller town within cab distance of the Northern train line that would give us a more intimate experience of the holiday away from the crowds? We would love to float our own krathong while enjoying a quiet (ish) evening.
Speaking of quieter towns along the Northern train line, are there any recommendations of any other small towns along the train route north that would be worth stopping to spend a day or two in?
I appreciate your time and look forward to any replies!
Hi all! I'm currently planning a 3 week trip to Thailand in November and have been reading a lot on /r/travel and /r/thailand. I'm planning to spend a couple of days in BKK, then go up North for about a week and then spend a week on an island. Friends of mine are arriving in BKK on Nov. 22nd, I was planning on meeting them there and flying home shortly after.
I have now found out that Loi Krathong (Loy Krathong?) is on Nov. 28th this year. My question: is it worth it to push the schedule back a few days to experience Loi Krathong? What's the best place for it?
Also regarding islands in the Gulf (Ko Tao): is the weather too rainy there in November? Is it better to go to the Andaman coast?
Thanks for any info!
