List of Ologies episodes?

My people! Hello fellow Ologites.

I listen via stitcher to at least 3-5 episodes per week, still pacing myself so as to not run out of new episodes too soon.

I'm excited to get to nominate Ologies topics thru patreon, and want to know if a plain old list of exiting (and upcoming) Ologies episodes/experts exists online?

I googled and found a keyword search for episodes on Listennotes, though would like a simple text list to browse topics and possibly organize my personal notes/associations/takeaways.

Thanks if you can point me in that direction.

List of words ending with "Ρ‹"?

Hi! I'm using Ivona to correct mistakes that I'm having reading Russian, to create an audio list. I wanted to know if you know of a list with words ending with Ρ‹

Currently I'm using the list provided by http://masterrussian.com/vocabulary/most_common_words_4.htm, but it would be great if there were something specific.

Something in this fashion might be useful as well: http://www.russianforeveryone.com/Rufe/Lessons/Course1/Introduction/IntrUnit4/IntrUnit4.htm

Thank you very much in advance.

Making a list of words that end in -ero.

If a directory like this exists, I haven't found it.

It seems ero isn't used very much, or maybe i'm mistaken.

I found:

  • Δ‰enero (a link, from 'chain');
  • fajrero (a spark, from 'fire');
  • neĝero (a snowflake, from 'snow');
  • kudrero (a stitch, from 'sew'),
  • lignero (a splinter, from 'wood');
  • panero (a crumb, from 'bread');
  • monero (a coin, from 'money')
  • okulero (compound eye from eye)
  • vortero (a morpheme, from 'word')
  • raΕpero – One of those round-ish plate-like parts of a caterpillar that makes up its body.
  • Programero – one act or one performance, presentation and so on.
  • rosero – One tiny drop of dew.
  • spermero - 1 single sperm cell
  • taktero – I think this is like one beat in a bar.
  • ŝvebero (= suspensiero) – I am not sure; this seems to be some kind of chemical thing, where it's a particle of a solid mixed in, but not dissolved in, a liquid.
  • lanugero – A down feather (like a feather of a duckling or so that are still very, very soft).
  • varpero, veftero – I think both vefto and varpo are some collection of certain threads of woven material, so veftero and varpero are the corresponding individual threads.
  • fulgero – fulgo means soot, so it's just a soot particle.
  • haΕtero – dandruff flake. It's just tiny pieces of dead skin that falls of your skin and contributes to dust.
  • faĝero - Small part of a phage.
  • plumbero – Is just a tiny bullet of lead, usually the ones to fill a shotgun cartridge.
  • pargetero – pargeto is a type of floor made of small, softwood boards, so pargetero is one of those boards.
  • kuprero – A tiny grain of copper.
  • lanero – lano means wool, so lanero is a hair of wool.
  • pulvero – a grain of powder used for guns and cannons.
  • vitrero – glass particle.
  • sablero; sand grain
  • bildero = rastrumero; pixel
  • suturero; suture thread
  • virusero; virus piece
  • grenero; grain
  • glaciero; ice piece
  • hajlero; hail piece
  • karbero; coal crumb
  • akvero; water drop
  • ostero; bone sliver
  • pajlero; straw piece
  • pavimero; pavement slab
  • pluvero; rain drop
  • polenero; pollen grain
  • polvero; dust piece

I didn't find any other words that end in -ero.

*Ignoring words like biero which are basically bier + o rather than mon + ero = monero.

LPT: For both native and non-native English speakers, when the sound "uhv" (as in "of") comes after an verb ending with the sound "ould" (Could, should, would), it isn't actually the word "of", but a contraction of the "ould" verb and the verb "have," making "could've," "should've," and "would've."

It's an extremely common grammatical mistake, and isn't one that can be played off as an accident or typo, so, particularly for native speakers, you will be judged if you make that mistake in any sort of formal/professional writing (However, as u/BlueSmoke95 pointed out, you shouldn't be using contractions in professional writing at all).

Is there a rule of thumb for pronunciation of words ending in -ik?

Due to how Politik and Musik are pronounced with an 'ique' / 'eek' sound at the end, I used this same sound with Grammatik recently enough, and it was of course wrong. It should have been 'ick' in this case. I came across another noun ending in -ik and I'm wondering, is there any rule of thumb for how to know when it's an 'ick' sound or an 'eek' sound. Sorry for my approximations of sound, I don't know how to notate these correctly!

How do people know which words are and aren't offensive? Is there a list of offensive words I can read somewhere?

Also, what can I do when some of a certain aggregate of people are offended by one term to describe them, and another part of that exact same aggregate are offended by wha I thought was the preffered term to describe them?

Specifically I'm talking about learning that Eskimo is an offensive word, and researching it to find some people find Arctic Peoples offensive, some find indiginous persons offensive and plenty of people from this certain group find Eskimo to be the preferred term. I THINK Inuit is the acceptable word now from what I've found, feel free to correct if I'm wrong. But even then "Inuit peoples" is offensive, even though just saying something like "blacks" or "gays" is offensive to people because you're not including to the word people after it, even though it seems it's very clearly implied I'm talking about people when I use labels in that way.
