I'm not even kidding. A smell of uncleaned toilets is lingering over the whole place. Looks like they're having trouble squeezing out enough free labor.
Hey all. I would love to list the things that have changed in the Mormon church since the nineties from not calling home teaching, home teaching and the name Mormon being a big no-no now. I mentally and spiritually left the church back in 97 when questioning since 93. I never made it to the temple, but very familiar with the rituals, etc.
I can’t help but realize how confused I would be if I were to suddenly re-join with my wife and kids just about simple things like, no more road shows and calling Home Teaching, Ministering. It’s kind of a big deal to me because just the word ministering implied those whacky ol’ southern Baptist’s churches and their whacky ways. The word ministering literally invoked “icky” and “that’s so weird” feelings within the cultural language. So, let’s do this! I would love to collect a list. So far I have:
- [ ] Home teaching called ministering
- [ ] The word and label “Mormon” is a no no and invokes the same icky feeling as the cross symbol did or the word ministering.
- [ ] No book of Abraham printed in new BOM’s
- [ ] Is the pearl of great price still in print of new BOM’s?
- [ ] 2 hour church
- [ ] Is fast offerings still a thing?
- [ ] Members cleaning the churches
- [ ] Baptism for the dead by kids?
- [ ] Is tea okay now?

Nelson is nearing 100 years old, he tries hard but is falling far short of the mark. He and Oakes are completely unprepared to defend the church against it's debauched history and the fraudulent nature of the Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham. They may not even know that these books have serious historical problems because of the bubble they live in.
Nelson never deviates from his "Pay, Pray and Obey" strategy and Oakes has become very angry and borderline mean in his absolute refusal to acknowledge any problems with the churches "sacred" scripture. Oakes has even refused to apologize for the well known lies being promoted by the church.
We have nothing better to hope for in terms of leadership....an endless line of old, borderline demented, borderline angry men who stand in line for the leadership of the church.
These men are ill equipped to answer any of the churches well known serious historical problems.
The most they can do is rant and rage against the internet...very sad.
