A list of puns related to "List of light deities"
Since Buddha switched sides at the last minute, he kind of screwed up the whole list of participants for Ragnarok, leaving a couple of new potential outcomes. Either a new deity will be placed on the gods side of the list, or someone on humanity's side will defect to the other side, being given demigod status of perhaps simply having their ascension to godhood be pending upon their victory. Personally, I find the latter possibility to be kind of hard to tie in with the story, simply because why would the gods accept a traitor or consider them worthy to be on their side and become one of them? I think they're too arrogant at this point in time to do that again, like they did with Hercules, so it seems much more likely that we'll get to see someone new join the ranks of the already listed combatants.
If this is the case, who will it be?
I'd like to see Hermes become a combatant, since he's cemented his chad status and been shown to have a very scary aura when intimidating Ares. But that might be too many Greek gods at that point.
Basically I need a list of Deities and species first mentioned in lovecrafts original mythos, before others started adding, and what stories they come up in. Can someone point me in the right direction?
P. S. This also includes beings created before Lovecraft's works but he mentions them in his e.g. Hastur
George Washington: Also known as the Fourth George, the Cincinnatus, Mister Washington, the Father of America, and Commander of the Armies. The first and greatest President, and leftmost head of Mount Rushmore. He is the patron of the military, agriculture, and good government. His symbols are the axe, the cherry tree, and the Six Stars. He is the protector of the world's children, except for the children of the King's Men. According to the doctrine of the Great Chain of Command, Majors receive orders from Colonels, who receive orders from Generals, who receive orders from Commanders-in-Chief, who receive orders from Washington himself. Washington was carved out of cherry wood by Lady Liberty, but he kept his mouth closed when she brought him to life, which is why his teeth are wooden. Liberty tried four times to create a George Washington capable of manifesting America. The First George she made was kind and good, but content with his life, and did little but invent new kinds of butter before fading into obscurity. Liberty filled the Second George with an urge to see a better land, but this desire manifested only as wanderlust, and he walked into the distant West, which still bears his surname. Liberty filled the Third George with an urge to see a better land and the will to build it with his own hands, but the Third George could see only the faults in others and not himself, so when he was born he screamed "My will shall be law!" and fled across the sea to found a kingdom of slaves and slavers. Finally she built the Fourth George, George the Cincinnatus, who had all the qualities of the other Washingtons but tempered with the humility to know he was imperfect and the urge to relinquish power when his quest was done. The Fourth George drove out the King's Men and formed a Perfect Union with Liberty in order to sire America.
Lady Liberty: Also known as Columbia, the Mother of America, the Mother of Exiles, the New Colossus, and the Goddess of Freedom. Her symbols are the torch, the gate, the tablet, and the crown. Lady Liberty is the chief deity of the Libertarian cult, but all Americanists recognize her importance. Aside from embodying Liberty itself, she is the patron of revolution against tyranny, motherhood, the American Dream, destiny, and good foreigners. Liberty is one of the few Americanist gods who never walked the Earth in the form of a mortal.
Martha Washington: Also known as the First Lady and Lady Washington. Her symbols are the

I am working to get through an initial read of the module as quickly as possible but my players are itching to build out their backstories so I'm trying to put a consolidated set of lore together, meaning information that would be common knowledge to the average person in this world. Included in this is, of course, common deities that NPCs worship. I know Chauntea and Lathander both get mentioned, but I'm having trouble finding a consolidated list of others anywhere.
So after Jesus Christ was ratted out to the authorities once again (history always repeats itself), I had a look at a list of greek mythological figures, which is rather extensive and includes some familiar and very common names.
I am guilty myself of using one of these (Luna), official Anet partners do so too (Nike) and just skimming over all the names and my follower/friends list, I found several more (Phoebe, Thanatos, Chronos, Aion, Chaos, Selene, Dione, Aura, Helios, Leto, Orion Talos, Typhon).
And even ANet uses some of them in naming their npcs or bosses (Deimos, Nemesis).
Couldnt find any of your own characters on this list but want to join the club anyways?
Try this list of Christian Saints.
I was thinking of the order being like The Followers of Stendar from Skyrim.
I know very little about the roles of ancient Egyptian deities, the influence of their numerous cults, or how much they varied over the enormous timespan of "Ancient Egypt." In fact I know very little about Neith at all and really have no clue about how relevant she was to Ancient Egyptian religion, and during which periods.
But it did strike me that she seems to have an exceptionally busy cabinet portfolio, so to speak, which made me curious about how common it was for Egyptian deities and their cults to have influence over such a wide range of topics.
Moreover, is thinking of these deities as having strictly defined roles, with each being responsible for certain aspects of life and death, actually a particularly useful framework? I could imagine that in reality there would be enormous overlap between the roles of various cults and deities depending on who, where, and when you were in Ancient Egypt.
I mean if you're all confused, Light Gaia or Chip still moves while Sonic in Night and Day along with everyone one else are frozen when the Loading Screen appears, I know I found this when loading up the menu and choose the Auto-Load option of going to the Lab or World Map which was on the PS3, don't know if it's on the XBOX360 version which this might be nothing but it's something I thought might help prove Light Gaia is in fact the creator of everything because this is only something a creator would be able to do.
Also if he isn't and just a part of the whole picture then who is the creator? The one above every God we've seen?
played for the first time in a while and nabbed a science win with Korea (just trying to shake the rust off). I wanted to see how it stacked up against my tougher matches... now it only has like three of my games on the list. Why'd it reset? is it a Civ V thing or a Steam thing?
thanks in advance.
Hi Band! Since some of you may not be part of the DCC RPG Rocks! facebook group I post here too.
We all know, DCCRPG = Community (which is why it has a special place in my heart) and I felt the need to give something back. I've spent saturday setting up a public bookmark system on my pinboard account dedicated to all the links I've seen shared lately in order for you to access it more easily.
It includes all the ones inside juliosrpgcove and the one on the shared google sheets plus others (ex. "music" and "art" and added some youtube/podcast channel of yours that I specially enjoy).
As I hope this could be beneficial to the amazing community, feel free to comment or pm me if I missed something please.
It's a living collection, you can even subscribe to its RSS, and if you put the "m." in front of the URL you'll have the mobile-friendly version. With love,
I was wondering what it would take to create a "PURGE THE HERETICS" type of character, loosely inspired by Warhammer 40k: a zealot on a quest to expand the influence of the One True Faith.
Since Light Domain clerics have spells themed around light and fire, I thought it was a good choice.
Problem is, most Light God churches (Lathander, Amaunator, etc) are not really the radical "purge the unclean" type, and the only one that is worships something that is basically a Fire Elemental (which doesn't sound very "pro-human" to me).
Now, there was an idea to establish worship of Bahamut's aspect - something like a ruthless but just Dragon Tyrant - but I don't think a deity can dip into other domains just because of a group of followers (Bahamut's default Domains in 5e are War and Life, I think).
Another idea was to add a "branch" to the Church of Lathander/Amaunator, that interprets the doctrines in a radical fashion. The trouble with that is justifying how a substantial radical movement can exist within a pre-established Church and not get hunted down for being too cruel.
Personally, I'm out of options here. Any help appreciated.
Hello, this is my first ever post on here, as I only just started browsing here (I've been into SCP for quite a while though, just never really visited here). And, as somebody who's very interested in this sort of thing, I wanted to type up a list of all the things that could be considered deities in SCP lore, as well as any skips or alternate names that are related to them. I would appreciate it if you good folks on here can point out whatever ones I miss. But, here goes.
Just a quick key for any odd formatting I do:
> a parenthesised name means that it's a name that is mostly speculative on my behalf, and most likely also not used by its worshipeprs
And those are all that I could think of off the top of my head (I'd do some more research but I'm exhausted). I'll expand on this once people provide more and I have time for more research.
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a list of Deities with their Symbols, instead of clicking on each Deity in the various Forgotten Realms wiki pages.
Please drop any helpful links!
If you didn't see datamining, our upcoming pantheon is the Yoruba pantheon, which consists of West African deities. The first god will be Olorun. Below is a list of popular gods from the pantheon, which are known as Orisha, and what they are worshiped for. The list does not include all orisha. Many of the orisha are spirits in human form, but some of them are humans who were deified upon death for their feats. The practice of worshiping orisha has spread from Africa to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Doing a college project. I intend to do serious research but since the assignment hasn't actually been passed out yet, I'm doing prep work and for now just ask reddit casually.
So are Athena and Ares patrons of discipline since they represent militarism? Or at least have it as a core personality trait? Who else fits the list?
I'm back again with another list post, but this time it serves a purpose. I'm planning on making a mod for Skyrim that will add in shrines for all known deities and saints on Nirn, as well as slightly renovate some of the vanilla/dlc temples, as well as possibly some from mods, to include more appropriate gods. To that end I need a list of all known deities and saints, and whilst I've used UESP to make the below list, there's probably some that, whilst not listed by UESP are either mentioned as worshipped, or are quite probably worshipped, but we lack any evidence as to it.
So first, I'm going to list all the gods that are separate representations/facets/shards of one 'main' god.
The Time Gods:
The Cycle Gods:
The Wisdom Gods:
The Wind and Nature Gods:
The Love Gods:
The Mortal Gods:
The Mercy Gods:
The Man Gods:
The Work Gods:
The Passion Gods:
The Story Gods:
The Mage Gods:
The Reality/Stasis Gods:
The Void/Change Gods:
Next comes the Gods that are singular to a Religion, or exist over multiple religions, but only with on name.
Altmeri Gods:
Bretonic Gods:
Can we create a list of helpful deities/spirits? it would be helpful so we can have knowledge on what to ask to who
for example :
Name of God/Spirit: helpful in these type of things , like these type of offerings , (wikipedia or other source article about lore and information of the God/Spirit
Howdy all
New here, though I have often stopped by to read numerous theories and the like... I have a question. Does anyone know of a list of the Lovecraftian deities currently asleep or trapped on earth? Old ones, outer gods and elder gods.
I could jump around the various wikis and put it together myself, but just wondered if anyone knew of one that already exists.
Thanking ye kindly.
Neil... :)
